  1. I don't like dumping chaff and flare at the same time, can I program so I can control the dispensing a bit more? Maybe one chaff per button press and no flares? The TEWS chapter didn't tell me much, or am I blind?
  2. Kuril Islands. Remember the Harrier campaign from Jane's USNF back in the day?
  3. Not sure where to put this, but I'm trying here. I've had this problem since November, through numerous updates, and what's happening is that my keyboard commands, and thus joystick inputs sans flying and engine, stop working temporarily from time to time in a mission, but return in less than a minute. And at the same time, looking around in the cockpit is sped up like I have time acceleration on (but I don't). I don't have track IR, so I look around with a hat on the stick. It's a bit annoying to say the least. I don't think it's the stick cause it's the keyboard commands that's unresponsive Win 10, 32 gig RAM, I7-6700K @ 4ghz, Geforce 1070 GTX. X-56 Rhino.
  4. Added a optional campaign file in the download for those having crashing issues with the anti-helicopter missions, this file removes the early anti-helicopter missions. Just overwrite the original campaign file. You have to redownload the campaign of course.
  5. I cannot understand why it crashes with the helos. It's like almost that if you linger to long with the helos the game CTDs. During testing, to expedite game time, I used unlimited weapons and just blasted through them. I'm playing the campaign now and I'm past the helo missions and I'm bombing targets already. Haven't had crashes during aircraft only engagements or strike missions so far, nor many during testing. I've flown all missions before I released it. I'll upload a updated zip file with a optional campaign file without the helo missions, there's like three of them in the campaign, so you guys having trouble can play the rest of the campaign. Give me a couple of hours. Regarding the AI wingmen, they're kinda stupid when it comes to helos. You might benefit with the optional campaign file as well. Keep an eye here, I'll make a post once it's up. Sorry about the inconvenience (although the AI is out of my control).
  6. Maybe, I'm not well versed with start up times. Another thing, although un-immersive, is to place a trigger, say around waypoint 1 activated by player, and have Figher Sweep and SEAD on late activation and let them start in the air (maybe around waypoint 1) and then they'll just fly their mission. Or have support take off from the carrier, but on late activation which is activated by a player trigger somewhere away from the carrier. I do that on one mission when I have F/A-18 strikers as well as SEAD on the carrier, the strikers activate when the SEAD F/A-18s enter the trigger.
  7. Early in building the missions I tried to have support linger at waypoint 1 and fly on ahead when the player entered a trigger, but they behaved strange, and flew in the opposite direction of the flight plan. Otherwise a startup would have worked. To bad man.
  8. As I build the missions for myself, and I considered there is probably more then just me that is a beginner, and I don't have the time nor do I think it's fun, to start up a airplane, thus the missions start on the catapults. Plus it make things easier with mission timings. You can do whatever you want with the missions. And changing them to client is totally fine, obviously, and changing to clients will not alter the missions. Keep in mind, most missions are a copy with only change in time. E,g; one stage will have mission A and B, the campaign randomly picking a mission for you to fly so you don't waste time changing all missions if you so desire. With that said, the timings would be wonky if you start up the F-14, with Fighter Sweep and SEAD getting far ahead of you, most likely taking out all airborne enemy fighters, and air defenses long before you arrive. The flights could become a bit boring without proper opposition/action. But, some of the Iranian alert jets will only react to you activating a trigger. So you could still encounter Iranian CAP. Your choice.
  9. Awesome. Made changes to the first post and also the upload mentioning this. Thank you.
  10. Tested tearlier today and crashed, but on the second try it worked. Doubt it's the mission as well, because otherwise I would've crashed on all the missions during playtest and I did not.
  11. Good. Try again and see what happens. I don't always crash when using PAL, but it does happen.
  12. That never happened when I play tested the missions. Hmm. Weird. Aren't there bugs reported when using the PLM/PAL modes? Are you using them? I've had instances of crashes when using those modes (not only during the missions mind you). I'm gonna test fly one of the helicopter missions and see what happens.
  13. Aircrafts should revert to default liveries if you don't download the liveries.
  14. !!!DCS 2.5.4.30386 Stable Version REQUIRED!!! (Due to some F/A-18s using JDAMs) • Revert to Open Beta version 2.5.4.30038 if you experience crashes during the anti-helicopter missions in the beginning of the campaign. Thanks to Gryzor. • If that doesn’t work, or you don’t want to revert, use the campaign file in the “Optional Campaign File”-folder which omits the three anti-helicopter missions from the campaign structure. Just overwrite the regular “Operation Persian Gauntlet.cmp” file with the one found in the “Optional Campaign File”-folder and you’re done. Introduction: The breakdown of the Middle Eastern peace process has increased the anti-western sentiment in the Middle East, and with war brewing on the Korean Peninsula, the number of US military forces in the Persian Gulf are reduced to cope with this new threat. Only a single aircraft carrier remains to enforce the Iraqi no-fly zone. The moderate president of Iran is assassinated and ultra-conservative clerics seize power and quickly denounce American presence in the region. Soon, under the cover of a major military exercise, Iran suddenly moves thousands of troops onto several disputed Gulf islands. And when a US flagged tanker is sunk in the Strait of Hormuz, and many more oil tankers are damaged by mines, the world’s oil markets are in turmoil. The Strait of Hormuz has been closed to western shipping. Your carrier strike group represents the majority of airborne striking power available to CENTCOM should air strikes against Iran become necessary. 15. Iraq/Kuwait would be a dream! So many scenarios for so many airframes. Would hope for a bigger map (for any area), maps feel a bit limited in size.
  16. Why do you care what other people do? Will it effect you in any way? Joy kill. Good looking skin.
  17. F-14A+, redesignated in 1991 to F-14B. They're one and the same. Post 1996, all squadrons began receiving LANTIRN regardless of airframe. It was thanks to a former A-6 pilot, that was the COMNAVAIRLANT in 1995, that the F-14 survived, he was a staunch supporter of the Tomcat. A Hornet representive wanted the Tomcat dead, better to spend the money on the Hornet he reasoned. Had Lockheed Martin and other contractors been unable to integrate the LANTIRN on time and on the budget, the F-14 would have been axed way earlier than 2006, maybe instead of the A-6, or together with the A-6. It was a very, very close call, and COMNAVAIRLANT would only relent if the Tomcat was given precision strike capability. Basically it was between either AMRAAM capability, or LANTIRN. So the anti-air strike crowd here should be greateful the F-14 got the pod. Dropping only dumb bombs wasn't enough, even if the Tomcat was accurate. It lacked a meaningful future, as Desert Storm proved, unless they got LANTIRN. Curiously enough, VF-1 and VF-2 had completed their strike syllabus one week before leaving the US on the Ranger for the Persian Gulf, but due to improperly manufactured bomb rack components, their F-14s could not participate in air strikes during Desert Storm. But in 1996 the Cat was Back. Source: Tony Holmes, F-14 Bombcat (Air Forces Monthly 2015).
  18. I use Restrict Afterburner on in the mission editor, and I throttle down until my wingmen are in formation. It helps some, but it's not ideal. And do we get into air combat they go full burner as well to close disrqnce. The AI overall needs a overhaul from ED, but do you think they reply to these issues? At least not what I've seen.
  19. This is a JDAM. next to a GBU-12. B and Ds only carried them. The As lacked a digital databus needed for the bomb to interact with the aircraft.

Back in the good old days in Jane's F/A-18, it worked just like a JDAM. You designated a target in the mission builder, and once in the game you just flew towards the target, waited for the count down and released the thing. A TOO mode was also available (I think). Beautiful piece of weapon :)
  21. I had four VF-213 F-14Bs on deck (the ones from CVW-8 ) and had no performance issue. I've flown in a strike package with four VF-31 jets and also four CVW-8 F/A-18s in front some 10 ish miles away from my flight of four VF-213 jets. All from the CVW-8 livery packages. Didn't notice much performance issues. Your mileage may wary. That VF-213 CVW-11 jet a few posts up looks gorgeous! Will it be released to the public? Really need VF-213 jets from 2001 OEF ;) All skinners making liveries and releasing them, you guys rock.
  22. You can cheat, and use this if you want to control it as a pilot. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3303929/
  23. Is overheating even simulated? Did not know this. I fire the laser around 15 seconds and wait for impact.
  24. He's lazing a Maverick fired from a Hornet.
