  1. I don't think there are many here using them. You may be the only one . Speaking for myself, I'd love to hear from someone that has them and how well they work with DCS. So please, figure it out and post your results.

  2. I'm holding out for the Xtal to drop in price to under $1000. ;)
I tested both the 8kx and Xtal at CES in Vegas. The 8kx definitely better than the Xtal. Xtal had amazingly clear lenses but there were really bad viewing issues - best way I can describe is like when you're looking around in zoom view and everything is distorted, not to that extreme but that same kind of unnatural feel. I did talk to the developer about it, and he is aware and said they are working on improving that. At the time of my visit, their pricing was almost $8k. I asked them if any chance of getting down to the $5k range - they scoffed at that suggestion. So don't expect your $1k dream to ever materialize. But I wouldn't worry about that as the pimax 8kx was a much better experience anyway.

  3. I just purchased the Harrier and I am having a tough time landing especially carrier landings. First controlling the harrier is a chore. Once I get near the carrier and have my nozzles in the 82 deg position the harries starts to sway like a hammock totally un controllable. It starts to rise no matter how much trimming I use and eventually drops into the sea. Controlling the speed is also a huge issue. I have watched all the videos on this subject and practiced continuously but can't get even close to landing the plane. It would be great if there was a step by step training video like the one for the f-18 that demonstrates all the sequences involved in the landing of the plane especially how to apply the trimming. If anyone has any suggestion or comments as to what I am doing wrong and why the plane starts to sway would be appreciated.
What is the weight of your aircraft?

  4. I'm curious why you found the Reverb experience to be superior to the Pimax. Having used neither, I have pre-ordered a G2, but had reservations about the field of view (especially for air combat). I gather you found the quality of the image of the Reverb sufficiently better than the Pimax to be worth giving up the wider FOV?
His comparison was pimax 5k and reverb. His analysis is correct, Reverb definitely beats the pimax 5k. However, the pimax 8kx (which I was able to test at CES) is definitely better than the reverb in both visual quality and FOV - by far. So it depends on which headset from pimax someone is referring to. This is also true for the reverb which now has a distinction between G1 and G2.

  5. Thank you! I hated how the lighting was so borked since 2.5.6 and thought for sure ED would have fixed it in the July patch - so disappointed. I still have yet to find any recognition from ED that there is a problem, so I was discouraged thinking that this would never be addressed... then I discover this mod, which fixed everything for me!!! You have my greatest appreciation Mustang!

  6. Yea I get it, just wishing they would have went a different path. It would be nice to have a little bit of realism in a SP arena. I get everything can be done from the front but that isn't very realistic. Whole point of a two seater is to have someone in the back and front. Just feels like they don't want to put in the effort to do something AI wise.
Actually the Jester system takes away from realism with it's pop up GUI and canned responses.
