  1. alright a little confused here, are you suggesting a full dcs reinstall here? not an issue if you are but just making sure we are on the same page.
  2. sorry it took so long to respond, Wasn't able to get on during Thanksgiving weekend. dcs.log
  3. should I get on the server play for a bit then attach the log file?
  4. on a server I play on regularly after the last couple of updates there are long lag spikes. This happens when starting up the aircraft for around 30-60 seconds. (after spawn in and graphics load) the entire game freezes which has caused jumping/warping of own aircraft and others. This results in aircraft damage of both my aircraft and others that happen to be in the way. It doesn't matter which aircraft I use, It happens on ED aircraft and 3rd party. during gameplay when firing on AI aircraft they lag out of the way of missiles that are tracking. when attacking ground targets there is a significant lag when the radars turn on and when firing missiles whether at me or at others in my area. when landing there is also lag when within 10nm of the airport and again around 2-3nm. I brought it to the attention of the Server admins and they told me to also report my finding here in the forum. When not lagging I get approx. 90fps using your counter in game. AMD Ryzen 7 2700 4.10 GHZ 48 GB Ram RTX 2060 DCS on SSD
  5. When using trackir the hmcs is lower than head height when flying straight and level, in order to see the horizon line I have to crane my head back. Then I can see the horizon line as it matches the horizon out of the cockpit. When I set it to show my spi on the hud it is the same. I have to look upward to have the spi show up. It is in the right orientation. Just as though I am looking through bifocals. The rest of the hud appears at head height.
  6. same issue was flying on a server that had both Boats, SC and standard. They had the SC on 126.5 and could not get any comms. Thought maybe it was a comms issue with the server but was able to get it in the 18.
  7. As a former Plane Captain with an F-14 squadron and who worked mostly night ops, I will say this, the lights on the Island were not very bright, but you could still tell the difference from the aft, bow and center of the ship as far as lighting goes. Starting your aircraft on the fantail for night ops you can see shapes, it is not 100% pitch black but it is damn close. If your Trouble Shooter tried to signal you with his bare hands you would not be able to see his motions under the plane. flashlights with gels in them are definitely needed. faces are unrecognizable unless within a foot or two. under the superstructure a little different. it is lit, not as much as those other videos. The exposure is bumped up a lot but you are able to make out faces, objects and see where you are walking i would say a half moon night but with a yellow tint. looking at the photo above, it is spot on. that light is there to assist but not by much. you definitely would be night blinded if anyone used white light in that area. A little antidote to show how much the light helps. If we launched from Cat 3 an F- 14A there at night It would illuminate the faces of those standing under the superstructure. and that it around 50' away. so the AB at 50' has more lumens than the light from the Island. This video is closer to the exposure
  8. Why? those core elements that are free don't have the same bells and whistles that the pay modules do. They are easy aircraft to jump into, there are things in the cockpit that are not modeled. They are bare bones. The Stennis is a free carrier that you can use, It is missing some of the bells and whistles. It is an easy carrier to jump onto, there are things that are not modeled. like advanced ATC. It is bare bones. everyone can jump in and fly the Frogfoot on the Caucasus map, and be competitive. The Advanced ATC just works on the SC. If I were just an Airforce pilot I would say fine I don't want to pay for something I will never use. As a Navy man I am like well okay makes since, if I want a high fidelity navy aircraft I have to pay for it, if I want a high fidelity Carrier I have to pay for it.
  9. yes I too have the issue, engines are idling at 700 rpm if this helps, reverting now to check rpm speed of past updates. edit: the old version (2.5.5) works fine rpm's are the same but able to rearm and refuel.
  10. here is the last line in my CTD log 2019-03-23 14:40:02.548 ERROR SOUND: invalid source_params(woLA-16789023:aircrafts\engines\f110afterburnerrearclose): gain starting to see a pattern... maybe
  11. To be quite honest I just want to sit in the thing. On a quiet deck soaking it all in.
