I have seen this as well, recorded simple track (about 3 -4 mins long), went to play it back and my heli took off correctly then 15 seconds later I landed (while recording), instead of landing my heli crashed into the ground
best bet is that the update has removed some files or folders from the saved games folder that you server is using, check scripts / hooks folders as well
Go for the fastest SINGLE gpu card you can afford
SLI/crossfire are fine ........ IF the game you are playing is supported by the driver writers
IF it aint then a single card will be faster
example: I had a 4870x2 , with DCS BS it was faster running with one gpu disabled
I wasnt willing to wait until Ati got around to modifying the driver to make BS run better
so I got rid of the card and bought a single gpu card
Single gpu tends to just work out of the box
Dual = driver writer has to tweak it for your game to run properly across 2 gpu's
getting the balance right can be difficult
What I did to make my trackir more user friendly was to
1. Widen the dead zone a little
2. When i turn my head to face the panel i need to flick switched on
I hit the trackir pause button, hit what switches I need then un pause
I have been playing BIS games for over a decade now and they are great
These guys know their stuff , arma2 unlike so many other games
actually supports multi core PC's for better performance and the community
is well supported by the BIS forums (hardly any posts dissappear from there)
There has been a lack of decent helicopter sims as of late (excluding the awesome DCS BS of course)
Architectural differences between generations is interesting
I did some benchies when I had a Q6600 and then when I got an i7 920
Q6600 @ 3.42Gig (overclocked) was about the same performance as
i7 920 @ 2.66 (default speed)
I had similar yesterday
Server up and running unpaused
I connected to server and game is paused for me ?????
About 20 seconds later it just unpaused itself and stuff started
weird
I have had similar problems
Isn't it weird , usually sim people are more mature than your average FPS noob
But I have had times were you get tkers who just want to ruin anyone
else having a good time
The fact that there is no decent built in system for dealing with it speaks
volumes about where ED's priorities are
Tho it is good that the community are trying to correct these defeciences
