  1. It IS false advertising to say it’s the F-16 grip. If that is what they’re doing it’s BS. We’ve already gone over the differences and there are some pretty important ones. Of course these are the same people that made the Cougar out of zinc... lol Who am I kidding? I’ve owned 5 or six of the damn things!:D
  2. I’ve been using it but only the SteamVR apps allow for modification now. You can’t get to DCS to set the Steam version of ASW where it locks or doesn’t lock your frame rates by half.
  3. I think this had a good effect on my rig as well. Both Round Table and Snowfox flew smoother.
  4. These settings should work for you based on your system.... sort of.. lol. I don't have any current experience with AMD boards and processors and therefore can't tell you what to do to increase CPU usage. Yours does seem low. First, don't go any lower than 100% custom resolution. With that in mind start with these settings: Custom Resolution 188% Motion Smoothing On That's it for SteamVR, leave everything else at 100%. In Game DCS Pixel Density 1.0 Textures High Terrain Textures High Civil Traffic off Water High Visibility High Shadows off Motion Blur off MFD resolution 1024 Everything else on the left column off. Grass clutter off Trees 70% Preload 130000 Chimney smoke off Gamma whatever looks best Terrain shadows off Cockpit Global lighting off Anisotropic Filtering 16X Rain droplets on Other than I use 204% for custom resolution those are my settings. I will still drop down to 30 occasionally on a busy server and also on a very busy single player mission when low to the the ground. That's not going to go away completely unless you're ok with the graphics looking like a potato. If these don't work well. Drop custom resolution to 168% but any lower and I'd suggest a different route. If that still doesn't work, set custom resolution to 100% and set in game Pixel Density to 1.3 to start. See how that looks and performs and modify up or down on PD depending on the results. Leave all other settings where they are when testing differences in custom resolution and pixel density. If none of that works I would suggest talking to an experienced AMD person to see why your processor is being under utilized.
  5. VR optimizations did happen several months back. At least they did for users of the Oculus Rift CV1. I did get better and smoother frame rates for a while but after successive updates, frame rates slowly began falling again. I’ve since upgraded to the Index and built the fastest computer I could buy at the time. VR is still bleeding edge tech and for the foreseeable future will require bleeding edge hardware to run at decent frame rates depending on the software. Unfortunately we’re at a standstill on hardware at the moment . My 9900K, 2080Ti, 64Gb memory and 1TB SSD barely keep me at 45 FPS and that’s without using shadows, MSAA or any kind of super sampling. That”s partly the fault of DCS code not having the ability to use more than 1 core and 2 threads. It is what it is.
  6. When you first start the jet and power up RWR/Countermeasures and the buckets, it takes a little while before you can make changes I’ve noticed. I typically do it after alignment or last. When you hit lList 7 if it’s warmed up you should dobber right (SEQ) once and be on the chaff settings for program 1. As Frederf said use the inc. dec. rocker that’s used for steerpoints to change the program number. Once done with chaff, dobber right again (SEQ) for the flare page. Rinse, repeat for the ALE50 when we get it. If you’re making a change in the air and it’s giving you problems dobber left (Return) a couple times and start over.
  7. I can’t see DCS under application settings either. On another note, if you fly the Viper and have dark MFD’s, you have to try this mod... it’s an amazing difference and other than some slight aliasing on the SOI border there are no other drawbacks. The HSI might look a little shimmery as well but not enough for me to notice. https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=222510&d=1575755915
  8. What we need to know is, your custom resolution setting in SteamVR/settings/video tab. In game Pixel Density if above 1.0. Is MSAA on? Are shadows on? What version of SteamVR are you using, beta or stable? Which Nvidia driver. Your system should run DCS fine once your settings are sorted out. Do not run legacy reprojection for DCS. Motion Smoothing works fine and you need it.
  9. Here’s a temp fix for the MFD’s. Outstanding mod. I didn’t check if it broke IC so can’t say but I can see the MFD’s and everything on them without leaning in. The drawbacks are the HSI is slightly blurry but I could read it fine and the white border around the SOI MFD has some alias shimmering. Other than that they are pretty close to what I would expect. The range circle color is slightly purple as well. https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=222510&d=1575755915
  10. Outstanding mod sir! I can see!!
  11. So far the new beta seems smoother when flying on the same server I flew last night. I was able to change easily from 90 to 120Hz and it took effect immediately. I did notice some flickering in the middle part of the field of view. I immediately thought it might be strobe lights because the flickering seemed steady but all external lights were off. This happened when switching back to 90Hz from 120Hz but I can’t say for sure if switching is what caused it. I’m not sure if the brightness slider is working. When I drag the slider right to increase the brightness, I see the change immediately. When I let go of the mouse button, the slider stays in the same position but the image brightness reverts back to 100. Anyone seeing these results?
  12. That’s fantastic! Glad it worked out for you.
  13. I can’t find a download link but I have it if you want it. I use a slightly modified version that sounds like another sim....
  14. The Cougar base doesn’t recognize it because it doesn’t have it originally. If the other bases have programming for 19 switches it will work.
  15. I use the radio switch up to open the comm menu, then look at the menu, put the white dot on what I want to press then use the press in on the radio switch (button 2 or 4?)to left mouse click through the menus.
  16. The F-16 stick is also angled forward while the A-10C is straight. They’re simply selling the A-10C grip independent of the base which really only serves those with a Cougar, Virpil, RS FSSB or VKB base. It has the 5 way CMS and the ad says that button 19 will not function with the Cougar. Below is a Real Simulator F16SGRH. You can see the forward cant.
  17. Even though there is no mention (at least when I read it) of the Viper getting updated today, Tyrants RWR tones have been made official I guess, which means no more turning them off or on when updating. Also I noticed Betty now says Chaff/Flare when dispensing counter measures. It’s good to hear her stretch out her vocal chords lol. I put the mode switch to Semi bit did not hear Counter. I’m guessing that takes more coding to activate when hard locked as opposed to hitting a switch to run the CM program. All in all, pleasantly surprised!
  18. That’s an easy fix! Copy them out of the F/A-18 Tones folder and you’re good to go!
  19. I agree with CobaltUK. What are your frame rates? If you are only using SteamVR/Settings/Video/Custom Resolution at 150% with no other supersampling you should easily run at 45 FPS when set to 90Hz with no drop at all. In fact, if that's all your doing set the refresh rate to 120Hz. However, if you've bumped up the in game Pixel Density as well that will cause frame drops above 1.1 or 1.2PD. If you're running MSAA at 2x or 4x that will bring down frame rates and if you're running shadows that will bring down frame rates too. A good place to start is set your Custom Resolution to 100%, then dial up the in game Pixel Density to 1.4 but leave all shadows and MSAA off. Set your view distance to High (not ultra or extreme) and everything else to high except civilian traffic, chimney smoke and ground clutter. Leave those low for now and put trees at 70%. See how that looks. Your system should run these settings fairly well. Keep in mind that FPS is also dependent on the mission and how many assets are active. When I fly the Round Table mission in single player it drags my system to its knees.
  20. Pulling in on the spring loaded lever is what allows you to lift up the grip, pivoting under the cutoff guard to move it all the way back. I assume that clicking it will perform the same function as cutoff.
  21. The slap switch is the same as the wall switch. It's right above where your hand rests on the throttle grip, below the canopy. I guess you could call it "the bottom of your fist switch" as well lol.
  22. Yes there is a detent option and my Warthog is currently set to it. When I go over the cutoff detent on the Warthog it lifts the grip up and around either to idle or off.
