  1. I have really enjoyed flying in the NTTR area map. Has there been any discussion on bringing that same enjoyment to Canada with Cold Lake Air Weapons Range (CLAWR)? We have Maple Flag Campaigns, but not being held in the proper setting, CLAWR. See link below. https://web.archive.org/web/20060510040009/http://www.airforce.forces.gc.ca/4wing/training/mapleflag/about_e.asp https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CFB_Cold_Lake Wayne P.S. I have this posted in DCS World 2.5 Wish List and it should be here.
  2. Thanks. I will enter in 1200 to simulate VFR and accept 'VFR MY SEPeration' rules. Thanks, Wayne
  3. Hi Everyone, I just finished reading all of the prior posts and don't see any answer to my question. After I check in on my approach to GATE 1 I am told to SQUAWK MODE 3 TACTICAL. What code is this to punch into the IFF mode 3. I can't find this anywhere. This is the first campaign that I purchased and starting to work my way through as time here permits. Thanks in Advance, Wayne
  4. I hope these are what you are looking for and these can help you on your great quest. Happy building!! Cheers, Wayne HowToAceII.PDF
  5. While starting the jet (F/A-18C Hornet) at NTTR I get ENGINE RIGHT FIRE instead of ENGINE FIRE RIGHT on TEST B. I will include the .trk recording. TEST A it gives the normal verbal warning of ENGINE FIRE RIGHT. Any ideas why and what is going on here? Thanks, Wayne Engine Right FIRE NTTR.trk
  6. Hi, I have two of my Arduino Uno boards working great and moving into getting them in their permanent home and looking at connection options. I have a Phidgets LED64 Advanced board here (was using it in P3D with VRS Hornet) and moved to Arduino to commit to DCS F/A-18C cockpit building. My question is, Can I use the plugs with wires that came with my Phidgets board to connect to an Arduino Grove Base Shield V2.0? If so, it would make my life a whole lot easier. Would it be as simple as plugging the Grove on top of the Uno and plugging in my already connected LEDs? Still new to the Arduino boards, but learning quick. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Wayne
  7. I have my Arduino Uno working and figured out what Sketch to use, the one that opens when I open the program. Sorry for all of the posts here. I guess I am getting the rest of my LEDs wired up in the next few weeks and building my warning lights panel. Thanks for the help. How are people connecting wires to their Arduino Uno? Pictures would be great. Thanks, Wayne
  8. I am posting stuff where it should be in the DCS-BIOS Discussion Thread. Thanks, Wayne
  9. I clicked a few things and hoped in the F/A-18C for a Free Flight flight and the MASTER CAUTION button was moving when I pushed it. I ended that flight and went to Cold and Dark on the ramp and both the MASTER CAUTION LED and reset switch followed the sim and worked when they should have. My next question is "How do I know what sketch they are following?" I tried a few different ones and modified those after adding the AOA LEDs and they are not working with the LIGHT TEST switch in the cockpit, but the MASTER CAUTION is still working. Patiently waiting .... Thanks, Wayne
  10. I was getting a grey screen for Main Instrument Panel when using Helios, but fixed that. I found this (photo attached) sketch that I am using and it 'verify' correctly, but it won't upload. Is this a good sketch to use after I get my COM3 issue fixed? New to this and pulling at strings until something works. I am also watching this video ( ) to help me get things figured out. Thanks, Wayne
  11. New to this, but determined to get it to work!!! I purchased three Arduino Uno boards to use for controlling my cockpit LEDs in my F/A-18C cockpit build. I have been following the tutorial from "whartsell" and things were going good. I had my COM3 port stuck in 'connecting' on the DCS BIOS Interface, but have that working and connected. When I was setting up my EOS Bus (Helios Profile Editor/Profile/Open/FA-18C_V3.0b/Add Interface/EOS Bus) I received the following error (photo included). Why did it happen and how do I correct it? I don't have the A-10 module and trying to get things working with an LED (Master Caution) connected to pin 13 and a push button (Master Caution Reset) connected to pin 10, all using the parts contained in the Arduino Workshop Kit purchased with the Uno. Once I get these two working, I should be able to get the LEDs wired up, connected and working. Any and ALL help will be greatly appreciated. Please go slow with step by step instructions as I am learning this on the fly. I am going to try the Add Interface without the FA-18C_V3.0b step and see what happens, or is this where I am going wrong? I will keep HERE advised on what happens. I have also included the Sketch that I uploaded to the Arduino Uno. Thanks Again, Wayne A.K.A hrnet940
  12. I have been slowly building building my F/A-18C cockpit and have been using Helios for months now; love it! I just received three Arduino Uno's yesterday and VERY new to these boards, but looks like I need to get these working to get my LEDs working. I only need my new Arduino Uno boards working with my F/A-18C cockpit to control the LEDs? I am using Leo Bodnar BBI-32 and BBI-64's for all of my switches/encoders/etc; these are working great! I have a Phidgets LED-64 Advanced board, but this is not supported with Helios, so that is why I bought three Arduino Uno boards for my LEDs. Does anyone here have a sketch that is working and can help me to get my Arduino Uno's working to control my cockpit LEDs, in my F/A-18C cockpit? Any and all help will be very greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! New but willing to learn! Wayne (A.K.A. hrnet940)
  13. I have not purchased the A-10 for DCS. I am building my F/A-18C cockpit and have been using Helios for months now; love it! Does anyone know what I have to change to get my new Arduino Uno working with my F/A-18C cockpit to control the LEDs? I am using Leo Bodnar BBI-32 and BBI-64 for all of my switches/encoders/etc. I have a Phidgets LED-64 Advanced board, but this is not supported with Helios, so that is why I bought three Arduino Uno boards for my LEDs. Any and all help will be very greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Wayne (A.K.A. hrnet940)
  14. Thank you oh so very much. It works as it should and is very nice to fly with. That worked and fixed the issue. Thanks Again, Wayne
  15. Thanks and a big sorry is in order. I was using the wrong files and have now set things up using only Helios 1.6 and FA-18C Ver.3b. I now have my second monitor displaying the MIP and all of the displays and gauges display properly, but my main cockpit display is stretched to two monitors and the displays are transparent (pics attached). I have also included my settings page if required. If you need more information, please don't hesitate to ask and I will send it ASAP. Thanks Again, Wayne
  16. I have the A-10C thing figured out and all of the DDI/AMPCD/UFC/RWR/IFEI are all working now, but the rest of the gauges and switches are not. I am using the 2_monitors-FA18C in the Monitor setting instead of the requested Helios setting in Monitors. When I use Helios and have the Main Instrument Panel (MIP) on my second monitor nothing goes there as it should. Instead, my main display is extended to the second monitor that is covered up with the Helios cockpit MIP. How do I get this corrected or what do you need to figure this out? Thanks Again, Wayne
  17. I have OvGME working and this error seems easy, but I couldn’t find the A-10C profile that it told me to open. Thanks, Wayne
  18. I seem to have an issue now and don’t know how to correct it. Any help would be greatly appreciative. Thanks, Wayne
  19. Check out Leo Bodnar sim equipment here: http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/ I have his BBI-32 for switch inputs and it is very easy Plug and Play. I am looking at getting his BBI-64, a few, to use for all of my switch inputs. They also handle his rotary encoders.
  20. Good day everyone, I have been working on my aerial refueling and trying to get my Logbook entry counter to go up. I am getting connected and 'You are taking fuel' call but the logbook counter seems to have a requirement to make that register as one. I have 4 in my logbook yet have connected a number of times. Yesterday I took over 500lbs in each of my two connections, but it stayed at 4. Does anyone know what that threshold is for making that change? My other connections were over 1500lbs per connection, I think. Thanks Again, Wayne
  21. Thanks for the help that was given to me. I have cleared the last issue with the missing image. Now when I go to fly with Helios and the F/A-18 I get the image included here. How do I clear this? When I use the Helios setting ‘2-monitors-FA18C I have the two monitor setup, but only my LDDI, RDDI, and MFCD are working on my cockpit display monitor. Nothing else seems to be working. What is wrong and how do I fix it? Thanks in advance, Wayne Wilson
  22. Thanks for the help BluFinBima. I see that I am using the newest version of the Hornet v3.0 in the top left corner of the Profile editor, but still don't know how to fix this issue. Should I uninstall Helios v1.4 and go with a fresh install or still get frustrated trying to fix this one? I followed the video, but it was with a fresh install and not installed over v1.4. Thanks Again, Wayne Wilson
  23. I have made the leap from 1.4 to 1.6 and while going through the checklist of warnings I have this one in the picture and don’t know how to properly correct and clear it. Any help would be great! Thanks, Wayne Wilson
  24. I have watched Lex Tailionis video's a lot and found them very great for the theory and practical stuff. I have also watched Jabbers video, link below, and follow it. I am still not great at landing on the carrier, but getting better as time and flights get logged. I have been working a lot on my airfield landings and getting them down to perfection. I have started to add weather to my mission and use it for added excitement. Small steps and build on the last skill you managed to get figured out and somewhat mastered. Enough said for now. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE and then more practice. Happy flying and this pilot stuff is NOT easy. Keep flying and learning on every flight. Wayne
