  1. I am finally getting back in to training missions for the F/A-18C hornet and noticed that we have 6 missiles (2xAIM-9L and 4xAIM-9M), but only two drones are present. How do we get practice with only two targets? Six or even five targets would be nice to be able to play with the different ways to "LOCK" and "SHOOT" them down. This would be more beneficial than just two targets and have to reload the mission to shoot two more. I would call it 'Maximum practice with less load time." Maybe have two or three targets appear after the first two or three have been destroyed or figure something out that works. I understand that this is only a training mission, but the more you train, the better you are. Wayne
  2. I just tried this with one of my circuit breakers and it worked great. Thanks! Wayne
  3. Thanks for the information. I will give this a try the next time I get some time to test and get these circuit breakers working. Wayne
  4. Thanks for the advice and information. Wayne
  5. Thanks. It worked, not that I doubted you for one second. This was my second last thing to figure out and test, I hope. I have some circuit breakers here and would love to use them in my FA-18C cockpit. When I attach them to the Arduino/Mega 2560 they are reversed. Any idea on how to invert them in DCS BIOS to make them work? Wayne
  6. I just tried to setup a potentiometer for testing to figure out how to use them and received the error in the attached image. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. I tried to follow the documentation with DCS BIOS. Thanks, Wayne
  7. Just a very quick question. What potentiometers (pots) are people using in their hornet cockpits when connecting it to the Arduino or Mega 2560? I have been using some rotary encoders and like them for their ease of connection, but the pots might be a little more realistic and they do have a stop built in to them for a defined "OFF" position. 8. I just took off from Al Minhad AB on Persian Gulf map and after raising the gear my gear handle light came on along with the horn to let me know that I have an unsafe gear issue. While viewing from outside and underneath the jet, I noticed that I was missing all of my left main gear doors. I have over 159 hours flying the jet and did NOT over speed the gear to cause it. I returned to Al Minhad and landed without incident, for the ground crew to find the doors and fix my broken jet (LOL). Any ideas on why and how this happened? First time this has happened to me. ( I took a screen shot, but it didn't work.) Puzzled, Wayne
  9. Just wondering if anyone has tried and figured out how to get Flight Illusion made instruments to interface in DCS? I would like to purchase one of their altimeters for my CF-18 cockpit. Not totally accurate, but will work great. https://www.flightillusion.com/military-vintage/other-gauges-mil/gsa-016-digital-altimeter-3/ The link above is to the one I would like to get working and go from there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Wayne
  10. I had already figured out that I needed to point VAICOM in the wright direction. I already found this and done it, but guess I needed to restart it a few times along with DCS. Everything now works with the test flight I just performed. Thanks! Wayne Happy flying
  11. Thanks a bunch. I will do that and try it out. Cheers, Wayne
  12. I moved my main Eagle Dynamics folder from my C drive to another drive. Now when I have Voice Attack/VAICOM Pro running and DCS is running with me in the F/A-18C my Main Comm window displays and hides itself fairly frequently. When I push my Comm 1 PTT button the window will either display or hide and it will not recognize my voice commands. I am hoping to not have to remove and reinstall as I have already done the voice training and don't really want to do that again as it took a while. How can I correct this? Do I have to remove and reinstall to get this back working? I love the program and the added immersion that it provides. Wayne
  13. Thanks Hoss for the info and a way forward. I will keep this in mind when figuring out my next steps. Thanks, Wayne
  14. I am starting to run out of room on my C drive and thinking about purchasing and installing a 1 TB SSD drive for just DCS. When I move my DCS over, how do I bring my logbook and other stuff with it? I don't know where to post this to get the most replies and help. I hope this is the correct forum. Patiently Waiting, Wayne
  15. Thanks for your words of wisdom. I am keeping it "as is" and enjoy what I have. I was looking at upgrading the other parts of my DCS tower, purchased back in Aug 2013, but when I noticed the large boost in FPS after the move to ver 2.7, I asked my self why? I had lots of headaches when I had it slightly OC'ed for a bit and when I removed it, on the advice from someone here, it went back to working normally. My tower is currently an Alienware with an Intel iCore7 3820 3.5G(boosted to 4.2G), 16GB RAM, with the new video board mentioned above installed last year when they were released. I had to upgrade my power supply as the original one did not have the power plug required for the new video board. I didn't see enough of a gain to go with the RTX 2080 with 11GB of video RAM to spend the extra money. The video board that came with the tower was an Nvidia GTX 660 and I was seeing in the low 30 FPS. After lots of research and I decided the best bang for my buck was the video board that I bought, looks like I lucked in on this decision. Thanks Again, Happy Flyin' Wayne
  16. I had CTD issues after installing my new EVGA NVIDIA GeForce RTX2070 Super XC Ultra, applied some moderate overclocking and found out that OC was causing the issue. After switching back to running stock settings DCS has been golden. I was seeing in the mid 30's FPS before we moved to version 2.7 and now I see 60's and 70's FPS with no other changes to my system. I bought this board so that I could overclock it and see better numbers in my FPS, but can't do that as DCS doesn't like it. Can I start to play with settings or just leave it alone and enjoy what I have? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I am updating the software now as I just checked for updates and noticed that I have missed a number of them. Thanks, Wayne
  17. Thanks guys for the information. I played with it and have it working. I just flew the mission and dropped the four weapons on four different targets on the first pass. All four hit their targets. Cheers, Wayne
  18. I am having an issue selecting a different station for JDAM. In this mission I created I have 4 x GBU-31 on stations 2,3,7, and 8. I can only program on the ground to one station, number 7 by default. When I switch to other stations to program the next JDAM the first mission PP is crossed out. If I leave the STEP button alone than I can program all of the mission PP's and all seems good. After I get airborne and ready to drop the weapons on their intended targets I can only drop the first weapon. This GBU-31 hits the intended target perfectly. After it leaves the jet all of the other PP's cross out and I am not able to select a different station. I watched and followed this YouTube video from Spudknocker. I am confident that I am following all of his steps, but not getting the same results. I forgot to save and attach the flight video after I exited the mission. I will remember to save and attach the file sometime today or tomorrow. Cheers, Wayne
  19. Thanks. I had this on my 'To Do' list and see that someone beat me to it. Cheers, Wayne
  20. Thanks for that information. I just started using DCS back when they had released the pre-order for their F/A/18C Hornet, early 2018. Cheers, Wayne
  21. I hope this is the correct place for this to be. How can I change ATC to hear knots per hour as appose to meters per second? I have been in a number of real aircraft listening to ATC on approach and it is ALWAYS given as knots per hour, never meters per second. All aircraft wind limitations are in knots per hour. Cheers, Wayne
  22. True. Realism for in-cockpit. Wayne
  23. I too have been experiencing crashes on exit from mission. I haven't tried anything yet, but might later on today. Outside to get some yard work done before it gets too hot. I will try a few things later today and report them back here after. Wayne
  24. Do you have resistors installed on your LED's? If so, bump up the value to reduce the intensity and brightness of the LED's. Wayne
