Im about to give up as i cant seem to figure out whats going wrong its automatically installed here C:\Users\WAR-MACHINE\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\ Ive tried deleting and installing to either A-4E-C v1011 (HotfixPreApplied) as well as the new A-4E-C_v102_.exe to Q:\DCS World\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\A-4E-C and C:\Users\WAR-MACHINE\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\aircraft\A-4E-C And i have had zero luck no icon to select aircraft or quick mission no a4 listed it does show the A-4E-c under installed modules tab unknown I am literally stumped at why I can use the mod or what step i missed... :( looks like I wont be able to try it out unless its a full fledged module.

Question for the Mod team : With the A4E and persian gulf map gives one the perfect settings to replicate a Mission mini campaign fighting Daesh/ ISIS albiet with one problem terrorist assets Specifically an Armored Vbied. Is there anyway the team could model one say using a small Russian fuel truck that one one could have multiple trucks plus ordinary fuel trucks re-skin with arabic instead of Cyrillic in one unit Heres my Idea that I would like to create using the PG map until the Syria map but I have no modeling or modding experience. Feel free to copy or share my idea as a member of Draken your team is sent into Middle east/Kurdistan to conduct flight training for the newly created Kurdish Air force who recently purchased ex Israeli A-4H and hired Draken to train the pilots on the A-4. meanwhile your team is Conducting training in country. hostilities intensify and your team is tasked to defend the airfield and surrounding area from ISIS attacks known assets are older ww2 German and British systems, older Russian armor t55/62 Improvised armored vehicles including armored vbied's and Suspected captured Iranian Hawk and at least 1 Sa-2 system as well as various man-pads no known air capabilities But Russia and turkey are nervous following a shoot down of multiple Russian aircraft and will engage non state actors if neutral airspace is violated as Draken and the Kurdish air-force is not recognized avoid straying with in 6 km of Russian assets. my thoughts are basic flight training as an instructor and your AI wingman is the trainee 7 mission campaign 1-2 training 3-7 combat missions fighting a guerrilla force in support of friendly troops in contact and QRF rapid flight and airbase defense against 1-2 vbied threats and multiple infantry w possible armor support. If anyone can help me with this thats great or if the mod team could include Daesh assets with their weapon pack that would be awesome again love the work!

  6. Agreed +1 NTTR Needs NAS Fallon. or DCS needs Map tools for us to create it ourselves. It is a shame that ED cant make it happen.. But 3rd Party.. Maybe community Mod team ??? if given the tools to do so...
  7. So hmm good to know, is this a setting we can adjust. I dont know exactly how or what parameter to set to make it more realistic Like Say if Awacs loses picture dissengage if more the 20km out. Or Is this just something that ED will have to adjust later one at some point and we are just stuck with this behavior..??

Theres Midway and the Solomon Islands,Philippines. theres also the Battle of the Coral Sea which was an all air battle so that could be a sea map of anything, Mariana Islands, Iwo Jima and Okinawa and then the Battle of Singapore. and realistically you could make It this way in DCS as seperate maps Hawaii Training map like NTTR also for the historic battle at pearl Midway Solomon Islands Lots of Battles here Philippines Lots of Battles on the islands and around Mariana Islands the Turkey shoot... Iwo Jima Okinawa on one map that's the way Id design it if I did it.. you could also have a Burma /China map
  14. Question 1. What if We had ORBX true earth support or something similar and the ability to edit current maps. Plus a dynamic theater. A campaign that moves through multiple maps in various ways Such as for example Nevada}PG } future Syria map or bounces back and forth mission to mission. Now to address Size you say doesn't let you refuel how about a cutscene vs loading screen your flight transitioning from one map to the next and your starting task is to Refuel or land at a nearby base one you have placed or one already on the map. 2. If maps were editable and the map tools were available. why wouldn't it be possible to turn Nevada into say parts of Jordan and Iraq. i dunno if larger maps is the ideal solution whats the pro's cons to the 400x400 that a say 600x600 or 800x800 would fix what problems would they introduce. 3. what time target are we trying to achieve for missions that current maps cant hit. The Question I now pose is.. Using what i asked in 1/2 say we plan a 30-45 min flight followed by 15 on station followed by another 30-45 min return this is a pretty long flight for a single mission. now say you have 30 missions to a operation that is roughly 45 hrs. and say you design a campaign around say 3 operations. That is roughly 6 days. and you got yourself a war. that's just flight time vary the missions length add in a interactive war room or briefing room that allows for mission planning load out selection and you have a pretty solid setup. and if they are using AI game logic the AI reacts to User inputs and BDA. it can vary and randomize assets. based on theater operations, think Chess or the game Risk. AI has Options WIN Stalemate, or survive. do they commit assets in this theater and potentially lose them or retreat and fortify elsewhere. there is I think so much potential in map integration and a theater wide dynamic campaign setup. No.. if you are going to do another american helo.. it needs to be the CH-47 or MH-47 Preferably a D/F model. since thats the more modern variants. it also fits in nicely with the huey, but wait you say it cant fight :helpsmilie: .... it also served as a gunship in Vietnam A model famously known as " Guns A Go-Go. " so theres that. but really she Hauls and damn good at it.. Btw I do have some brief.. first hand knowledge of the "sh!thook" as cargo. She always smelled like Hydraulic fluid most I saw leaked but as a Taxi for a ground pounder she was a fast albeit rough...note never ride one after eating breakfast..:cry: Also as a D or F model it would be perfect for the future Afghan map. Theres also the super modern NH-90 for most European coalitions British Lynx is a honorable choice, or merlin. theres also the Modern AH-6 LittleBird. If and when any of these are in DCS then maybe something from the S-70 preferable 93-03 lot family would be cool.

Boscombe Down incident probably a early stealth drone recon or test flight that ended with a mechanical failure. there's probably enough Info now historically what was going on geo-politically in the world at that time. my theory is it was a early prototype of the RQ-3 DarkStar which happen to have its maiden flight in 96. and why i think thats is because shortly after it has a "crash" shortly after takeoff. A modified, more stable design (the RQ-3A) first flew on June 29, 1998, and made a total of five flights before the program was canceled just prior to the sixth and final flight planned for the airworthiness test phase. Two additional RQ-3As were built, but never made any flights that we know of before program "cancellation". rumors of it flying again in 2003 and then just oddly enough this long shelved design looks kinda like the new RQ-180.. that or its some super secret Squirrel Design...

  20. even 4 or 6 core would see a significant improvement, multi thread is where everything is headed on the processing side for a lot of things plus the always inching forward of resolution adding to the complexity and with gpu manufactures dabbling in trying to move away from rasterization and using ray and path tracing performance and the way things look will improve either way as the hardware improves, but only significantly if done with multi thread vs single. I think safe to say we all wish we could snap a finger and the code was re written for multi thread, but knowing the time and effort as well as cost involved in such an endeavor.... we have to remember its a business 1st. Their priority is always going to be profitability it keeps the doors open, the lights on and the project growing. Projects need to be balanced to ensure a steady stream of cash and :drunk: so its doubtful they would be focusing on two projects that don't see a immediate cash in flux like a map or module would do vs Vulkan, multi thread or who knows what else they have in the works We should remember they just recently released 2.5 and are still flushing it out now if it was a side project running parallel we could maybe see multi tread in a major update say 2.5 -2.7 or 3.0.. But i have a feeling thats something that is still a ways off.

I want to share with you all a very informative video for those of us that may not know the intricacies of graphic design and only have enjoyed the results up til now. the video takes a short path through history and then touches on the technical details of rasterization, ray tracing and path tracing. followed by a video by Disney called practical guide to path tracing :smartass: I hope you all enjoy and walk away either refreshed or with something new, and I must say boy what an age to be alive in coming from the graphics of the 90's to what could be in the next 10 yrs.:pilotfly:

I know that, thanks though.. like i said I was wondering if they have it on their to do list or wishlist like heatblur has with their A-6. 1st developing it as AI and then as a full module. essentially get the grunt work out of the way, while having time to flush out the user specific parts of the module. AI variant is just a step in the creation of the full module while giving player the ability to still use it in a mission.

I wish there was a way to adjust the distance say using like a slider so you could vary a groups formation. from say 50m-500m using a scroll wheel or keybinding. versus just a set distance pilots calling out tighten up or loosen up. with each scroll or press. also able to set groups distances in the editor. would also add another variable to a combat server with AI spaced out or in tight groups maybe even being masked on radar. "topgun" scene.. as well as being useful on say an acrobatic server. with solo pilots training with AI.

Question guys I came across some info while researching Chinese aircraft, while some believe the Chinese are masters of corporate espionage, one thing is for certain they aren't shy about reverse engineering tech. and I came across and Article about their JL-10 radar set being part home grown with tech recovered from A-6 and F-111's and further enhanced by AWG-9 given by the Iranians. specification: Frequency: X band Maximum detection range: 104 km Maximum look-up tracking range: 80 km Maximum look-down tracking range: 54 km Maximum look-up engagement range: 40 km Maximum look-down engagement range: 32 km Total modes of operation: 11 Sector of scan: +/- 60 degrees Maximum targets tracked: 15 Maximum targets engaged: 6 Developer: CLETRI (607th Institute) built to MIL-STD-1553 standard if the radar is similar to the AWG-9 albeit shorter ranger less target tracking could this be the system in refurbished /upgraded Iranian tomcats. which using the us standard retains the ability to use western avionics and weaponry but allowing the IRIAF F-14 to also use A2A PL-5, Pl-12, and ASM's Kh-31, C802. on top of the Sidewinder, Aim-7, AIM-54, modified hawks and Soviet R-73's. as the Chinese have helped modify systems for the Iranian's before Shahab-2/3 AKA Scud-C to me this seems the most logical step since they alone would have the manufacturing capability to near match ours. and if So would add a unique flavor to the tomcat in DCS when flying in one or against one. Thoughts ??
