  1. i can add another tip, once you lift off pull gear up asap, it removes a lot of drag, this is first thing which you need to do it after you take off, not flaps not engine power adjustment first thing is "GEAR UP" I loaded up mosquito with bombs and 100% fuel, and i picked up short normandy airfield, you can take off mosquito from those short runways.
  2. I found work around for this issue, don't crash.
  3. It works on my end, i cant move throttle beyond detent untill it is lifted. You need to select this in special tab to "alwayes on" or something like this
  4. Mossie has throttle detent' so you need to lift it if you want 18lbs boost. It is weird that he can not take off at 12lbs or 14lbs cant remember throttle detent limiter value.
  5. @Coco22 P-51 engine issue should be posted in P-51 forum thread. Post it there then ppl more likely will respond to your request. Thanks
  6. I like this random pick from b-24 getting hit by flak, and now simple green ppl will say wow, what a damage P-51 chopping off bomber in half.
  7. Dive from what alt at least, P-47 dive performance wasn't same at all alt. Dive from high alt often end up with compressibility problem making elevator ineffective so total lost of control of the plane. Definitely wasn't unmatched diver from what i have read , depends on P-47 versions, N or M get a lot of improvement in that regard but D beside compressibility flaps not so much. Take note that K-4 encounter was extremally rare, by the time K-4 entered full service Luftwaffe was in bad shape. Mos of the encounter reports were with early versions of 109 or fw 190.
  8. This is how i see it when no throttle available this is the easiest way.
  9. Manual which i have mosquito mk 6 used 23 or 25 merlin engine. And merlin 25 is modeled in DCS it allow 18lbs boost merlin 23 was limited tp 14lbs for take off
  10. It is in every plane that switch to lower gear happens on lower alt, my issue is why i can boost beyond 1.42 ATA and this does not explain why i can boost over 1.6ATA And there is second thing, why supercharacter speed don't change when ATA starts to drop, why supercharger high gear goes in when ATA is low i can't remember exactly but change happens after ATA drops to 1.1. Reason is the power output of the engine, supercharger speed changes when power output for low and high gear equals, so when you switch engine running on low blower with 1.3ATA boost in to high blower you will loose power. For example V-1650-7 peak power for low blower is 1720hp and for high 1490hp it it obvious that you have to wait until power drops to 1400 on low blower to have any benefit switching in to high blower. I think they did that to not over cool engine in high speed dive, which already had very efficient cooling, but higher ATA does not mean higher power when comparing engine on different supercharger speeds.
  11. Not necessary we only see small portion of engine operation, lat say that engine supposed to last 300h. Then yeah you need to be below 80C oil temp, of you want 10 hour engine you can go for 100+ oil temp. Those limits are set for long term use, exceeding oil temp will kill your engine for sure but not in 30 min or 40min maybe in 2-3 hours. I will state this again games which model engine damage on timers so for example engine limit is 5 min at 1.4 ata and if you pass this mark engine blows up is just BS.
  12. In reports speed was often TAS. What does "rated altitude " mean in this report, if it mean critical alt, in thhat case this is not a marlin 25 powered mosquito, merlin 25 is rated at around 14k Just tested it, at 22k maxed out 8-9 punds of boost in shallow dive i managed to get 260mph at 20k, you really thinks that ED overshoot performance by 100mph Comon. mosquito with merlin 72/73 yea i can believe this but not with merlin 25
  13. Wonder how engine life time was reduced after this engine run up 102C, probably to 5 hours maybe definitely you don't want to do that in RL.
  14. 350mph ias at 22k is 550mph. It had to be hell of the dive. 350 tas i would believe in this.
  15. This engine has something like 100hp or more fan which blow air through engine, this is unique feature all other will cook if you do that. But if you look close on temp gauge there are hand made marks and i think 82 is close to redline mark i think. @Lixma 06 try set up as high as possible ambient temp then do the test.
  16. @Hamilton "Full right rudder for take off" this is procedure from Spitfire manual, you can use what ever you like, what fits you best this is just a game. This right rudder trim is part of plane configuration for climb, you use high power and with low speed it require a lot of right rudder, so to make it easier for pilot trim lifts some workload from pilot. "zero" the trim never happens , You compensate your slip with rudder pedals or with trim if you want put your foot off from rudder pedals that's it.
  17. @peachmonkey don't expect that ww2 team will fix recent bug, this bug is just placed in queue and bug list is very very long. It is only my impression but i think that ww2 DCS produce more bugs then they can fix.
  18. For take off full right rudder trim, for other phases of flight as required. If you have rudder pedals you don't need to trim much because you can compensate slip with rudder pedals. With rudder trim you mitigate slip, and slip will depend on power, speed of the plane basically you need to correct trim very often in warbirds. Slip/turn indicator ofc had to be different then in other planes because British design You want this upper arrow be in the middle all the time. But i will say that rudder trim is useful only for calm flying, take off, cruise, landing for combat trim won't help much, rudder pedals is the way.
  19. It happen to all warbirds when ED is refining FM, same happen with P-47 non high speed dive characteristic were present at release, now p-47 has those. But i will test mossie how it flies and will report here with my impression. I did a test fly, and i noticed not much of the change, take off run lenth is pretty much the same, it can do 340-350 mph at deck which is sick for that kind of plane, it still loops nicely again for a bomber still very good.
  20. @Glide not sure what are you talking about. My mossie takes off nice, spitfire great as well.
  21. It said that it is a bit more bouncy then RL, but overall DCS is master I can wheel land all ED's ww2 planes without bounce so.
  22. Can you show screen from this, i know that in some cases CB pops up making oil temp gauge dead, while other still works. Can you associate this oil temp gauge issue with apply of throttle on the ground, when rpm goes above ~1500 when generator kick in ??
  23. @spacemishka you can set it as you wish. Nose down trim helps a bit but you need to let the stick go, you cant hold it full aft once you get some speed.
