  1. Has this been disabled in 2.9? I used to be able to do F3 flyby view and use Ctrl + * to zoom in close to the flyby. It currently is not being recorded in the edited replay. It works when I'm editing but in the saved replay, its just showing the normal flyby view.. Thanks, Woofer
  2. Hey Guys, Been flying sims since way back, Flanker 1.5. Boy has DCS come a long way! I'm looking to purchase a new sim cockpit and need advice on the company's that make Flight Sim cockpits. I purchased an original Obutto cockpit way back when they first came out and it has served me quite well. I want to dedicate the Obutto to sim racing and purchase a new cockpit for Flight simulation. What company's have you guys used and what are your opinions of their products. I'm getting up in years, 68, and need something I can easily get in and out of, but is also flexible as far as configuration. I plan on using 1 PC to run both rigs and use splitters and switches to share the common components. I've looked at the current Obutto and the Next Level Racing Boing Military edition rigs and both seem promising. I would very much appreciate your opinions and suggestions and any thoughts and experiences on any other manufactures. Thanks! Woofer
  3. More power, more power to the Servers Scotty!
  4. Thanks Guys, makes perfect sense!
  5. Hey Guys, I have a quest 2 running at 72Hz in VR. The in game FPS shows 36 FPS. Is that per eye or total? It's running very smooth. I'm assuming if that's total I would be seeing some stutter. Thanks, Lynn
  6. Anyone had success getting this to work? Thanks, Lynn
  7. Hey Guys, Just wanted to share my experience with these two PC builders. I ordered a custom built PC from Cyberpowerpc back in late March with an expected ship date of 5-17. Well 5-17 came and went with no email about my order being shipped or delayed. I contacted Sales at CP and received an email the next day stating they were waiting on the RTX 3080 in my order, said GPU should arrive in about 2 weeks. 2 weeks passed and no change in my order. I emailed again and received another email stating shipment was delayed, but my order should be shipped by 6-30. Well 6-30 came and went and no shipment notification. At that point the had already charged my CC even thought they had not started my build. I inquired again and was told they were waiting on the CPU with no ETA. I inquired if they had all of the other parts in stock and was told they were still waiting on the GPU in addition to the CPU. All of the responses I received were very short and not really helpful as to any options to move my order to the assembly process. I was very frustrated with their customer support, so I decided to look at other PC builders. NZXT came up in YouTube as one of the best with customer support. I specked out basically the same build. I was shocked to see the expected ship date was only 5 days away. I used their online chat to inquire about the ship date and if they had the parts in stock. I was shocked when they replied they did have the parts in stock and the ship date was correct. I canceled my order with CP and ordered the build from NZXT. I was able to upgrade the 3080 to a 3080 TI, upgrade from a 2TB HDD to a 4TB HDD and add an additional M.2 drive for basically the same price I was going to pay for the CP build. I've seen many threads on Reddit about the horrid customer support from CP and in my opinion this was what I received. I was also cut off in a chat with NZXT about the order I had just placed due to a thunder storm in may area and had to shutdown my PC. When I was back on line, I had received an email from NZXT with my question from the chat answered. That's what i call great customer support! Who does that now days? I hope this helps anyone looking to buy from a PC builder and not go through the frustration I went through. FYI just my opinion. Lynn
  8. Thanks Guys, Excellent advice! I went with the 5800x. I'm going to be running an AIO, so hopefully the temps will be ok. Thank all of you for your opinions and advice. Lynn
  9. Thanks Fliegefisch! The video was very helpful. It doesn't appear there would be much difference in DCS. Lynn
  10. Hey Guys, I'm in a dilemma and need some advice. I have an order at Cyberpowerpc that's on hold because they don't have the 5900x in stock and no eta. They have the Ryzen 7 5800x in stock and want to know if I would like to change. Any opinions on the 5800x in DCS? It will be paired with a 3080 and 32GB of ram. I'm on the fence. If the difference is only a few fps I would be ok with down grading, but if it's 10 or 15 fps I would most likely wait on the 5900x. I currently have an I7 6700K OC to 4.5GHZ and 16GB ram. I have a Rift-s and want to improve the VR performance as much as possible. Any advice and opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Lynn
  11. You might have a look at this YouTube video. I haven't tried it yet, but will tonight.
  12. Thanks guys! Great recommendations. I failed to mention I'll be pulling my 5 SSDs out of my old PC and putting them in the new rig. I've got an old 3TB HDD in my current rig and was going to copy things I need to keep to the new 2TB drive. I'm thinking about buying another 1TB NVMe drive and putting DCS there. The MB has 2 NVMe slots, probably the one C3PO suggested. Any opinion on the AMD RX 6800 XT VS the RTX 3080? I've got an NVIDIA Shield hooked to my TV and I would hate to loose the ability to stream other games from my new PC to the shield and was thinking about going with the RTX 3080. Thanks for all the info! Lynn
  13. Hey Guys, I know, I know. I've googled, read through the forums and watched tons of YouTube videos. I just want your advice to make sure I'm putting my money in the right places. I do only 1080P and VR mostly in DCS and racing sims. Current rig is I7 6700k OC to 4.5Ghz, 16GB ram, Nvidia RTX 2070, Rift S. New rig will be as follows. Any and all suggestions are most appreciated. I could go with the RX 6800XT, but I'm not sure the extra cost would be worth it. Also what are your thoughts on the X570 boards vs the B550 boards? Thanks in advance for all your help! 14. I've had two warthog sticks and both suffered from "sticktation". For very small movements the stick is just not smooth, at least in my opinion. Just google "sticky warthog stick". There is a mod you can do, but it involves taking the stick apart then sanding the plastic ball joint. Not for the faint of heart. This really shows if you fly any of the choppers. For jets and prop planes it's not as noticeable. I finally ended up buying the VPC WarBRD base from Virpil which works with the warthog stick. What a huge difference it has made. I couldn't be more pleased with this combo. There is no comparison to the warthog base. The Virpil base comes with additional springs and cams to get the feel and tension you want. The stick won't be recognized as a warthog stick, so you just have to reassign all of the buttons and switches. The warthog throttle works just fine and I'm very pleased with it. Good luck. Woofer
  15. Excellent video's! Ralfidude does a great job of explaining the A10C II. The one for the TGP and HMD is the hardest, but once you understand the concepts, it's down hill from there.:pilotfly:
