  1. Yes, you’ve done all the right things. One of the great things about DCS - unlike other flight sims - is that it will accept the same input as axis or button without conflict.
  2. Just spotted another minor error. On P187, it says that button PB20 'MODE' selects the radar mode, but that button is not modelled in DCS. It is PB5 that selects the radar mode.
  3. Pretty sure you can’t have axis to button functionality without the axis being active. All axes can be axes and buttons at the same time. Don’t see why you would want to disable the axis.
  4. @Charly_OwlBignewy has set the thread I posted in the Hornet forum on this as 'investigating'. After searching everywhere I can, I see no evidence of a snowplough mode in the ATFLIR, and certainly no mention of anything that drops to -8 degrees. Double clicking from VVSLV takes the ATFLIR into INR mode.
  5. Thanks. I don't think this mode is mentioned in ED's manual.
  6. Thanks @BIGNEWY, but that's not my point. Slaving to VVI works perfectly OK, it's the snowplough mode I'm talking about, i.e. a double press of undesignate from VVSLV. In the Litening FLIR, double pressing undesignate from VVSLV goes to snowplough and drops the vertical angle to -8 degrees. In Chuck's guide on p318, it says that the same behaviour should be seen using the ATFLIR. (See point 5 in attachment). I'm not seeing that. In the ATFLIR, snowplough mode remains at the same vertical (up/down) angle as the VVI. I'm wondering which is the correct behaviour, as it is currently in the module, or as described by @Charly_Owl.
  7. I posted elsewhere but got no response, so I guess I'll ask if this is a bug or correct behaviour here.
  8. Checklists like that are probably easier/more accessible using the kneeboard, but whatever works for you is good!
  9. As I replied to your query in the other thread: Yes, you just go to DCS Controls, click on Modifier, add in your E1 and E2 press buttons, then just bind the modifier and the cw/ccw turn on E1/E2 and you have what you want to do.
  10. Sorry about late reply, I was away for a couple of days. Yes, you just go to DCS Controls, click on Modifier, add in your E1 and E2 press buttons, then just bind the modifier and the cw/ccw turn on E1/E2 and you have what you want to do.
  11. My guide wasn’t really about adding buttons, it was about setting up the detents making use of new features in the software. Not sure what you mean by ‘additional functionality’. Can you expand a bit?
  12. Just look at my first post about setting up detents here. My method works well for me and has helped others it might be useful for you
  13. It’s the same except that you can’t define the button number. Auto assigned now.
  14. No one? I'll maybe post in the bugs section to check if this is correct behaviour or not.
  15. Pretty convinced now that after looking around, there isn't a snowplough mode for the ATFLIR that changes the l/r/u/d angle. Litening, yes, ATFLIR no. See post above, and p453 in ED's manual for the description of tracking modes and behaviour of undesignate button. Double pressing undesignate when in VVSLV changes to INR.
  16. I put out the question on the Hornet forum, but I did see this from @Frederfon the beta team. This suggests there is no snowplough mode on the AT FLIR.
  17. In Chuck's Guide p318, it says that the Snowplough mode goes from VVSLV - by pressing Undesignate twice - to 0 degrees L and -8 degrees down on activation. I'm not seeing that, nor do I see it in YT vids. I know it does that on the Litening Pod, but should it go down 8 degrees in the ATFLIR or is the current behaviour correct?
  18. I know what you mean. I think when I looked, the word snowplough is not even in ED manual! I’ll ask in the Hornet forum.
  19. My source is my eyes! If I switch from VVSLV to Snowplough there is no change in the l/r/u/d angle. Also, looking at various tutorials on YT, the situation is the same.
  20. Pretty sure the info about snowplough mode on the Hornet ATFLKIR is incorrect. Point 5 below seems incorrect to me. For me, as well as YT vids I looked at, the left/right/up/down degrees are the same as the VVI, when starting the snowplough mode. Worth a check, I would say.
  21. You can have all your devices connected if you like. For safety's sake, it might be best to just have the one you want to upgrade connected just in case of a mistake. What Virpil devices do you own?
  22. Won’t do any harm to copy saved games, but the firmware update won’t affect that. The only issue that might occur is a change of windows device ID. Read above about JoyPro which can get round that issue so you don’t have to re rebind everything. No other updates for devices needed apart from Virpil firmware.
  23. Sorry, we’re talking about exporting the device profile from Virpil software.
  24. Is it possible to define the default/starting position from the F6 weapon released view? I always end up slewing it and zooming out. It would be really nice if this was definable somewhere. Thanks.
