  1. @Martinbulldog What were/are your NVidia settings, can you screen shot those unless you have everything set to default?
  2. Question about prescription: I have a prescription for distance/driving, I also have a different prescription for computer monitor use as my distance/driving prescription is too strong for that application. I dont use glasses for reading as I dont need them. Which of these 3 sceneries would I be applying for use of the HP Reverb G2 V2 ? Thank you,
  3. @speed-of-heatI thought I already responded to this, but I dont see it posted? Anywho, I dont record, so no matter. Your position is simply that it doesnt matter if not recording, got it, thanks for your feedback!
  4. @speed-of-heat Sorry if I was not clear. I have seen tutorials that clearly state to set your monitor resolution to lowest possible. I dont understand why, or even if it is actually recommended? Thanks,
  5. Hi, I posted this over on VR4DCS Discord as well as I realize there may be people here that dont visit there, so Im fishing both sides of the lake here. I have my head burried in the books here, looking at Tutorials and reading through forums in preperation for my Reverb to arrive next week. One thing I am not clear on, and that is setting up my monitor resolution in DCS for VR. Now I assume that when its spoken about, its from within the "VR" Tabs setting in DCS Options, and not the Tabs for Custom 1, 2 or 3 correct, I dont need to disturb those settings do I? Assuming not, What am I supposed to set my monitor settings for in the "VR" Tab section to get best performance in VR? And I was reading something about unticking or ticking the mirror option? Right now, my desktop resolution for this monitor is 3840 x 1600 (at 175% Scaling) and its the same setting within DCS. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you, null
  6. yeah, problem is, I would have to spend alot of time going back to find out which of the many vids I watched from him to find the one I found that info in. You can take it wit ha grain of salt if you prefer, but the info is out there, I found it when I was calculating PS info. Cheers!
  7. Yeah, I did read about them getting out and the support through 2026 I believe. If I had known they were going on sale, I would have snagged one. I didnt catch it till they were out of stock. My loss!
  8. Thats an older vid. When i was building this year, I think he added an additional %15 on top of that with the power consumption of the 4090 recently. That may not matter to you?
  9. Thanks for the feedback! Im still sitting on getting the G2 V2 when its sub $400. Im in no hurry, I still dont see it back on the HP website to even purchase? Im assuming when it went for $399, it depleted their stock, maybe for good?
  10. LOL,,, I never seen Pico4 mentioned in any comparison discussions myself. That is a new one on me.
  11. " Even on prime day Amazon was more expensive than HP" That is true!
  12. sorry i cant help you, i found your post while trying to find a sub $400 deal here in the states. Maybe someone has info that could help us both out? I have been looking hard since yesterday hoping to get a Prime deal. I did find HP site had it for $399 and wanted to pull the trigger, but they were out of stock. Now I cant even find it on the HP site. Im wondering if they took it down because they have none?
  13. This has happened to me a few times also, yesterday, I went back to base to rearm/refuel I did a repair. Ground crew was nice enough to roll out a new tail section for me, but didnt attach it? They musta ran out of tape? null
  14. Isnt it incredible when you think about it, the lengths you go thru to troubleshoot to find out its something like that! I feel your pain, been there done that! Glad you got your problem solved in such short time! That musta been so agonizing! I think you owe SteelFalcon a beer LOL
  15. @EightyDuce thanks for that helpful feedback! I was beating myself up trying to understand why I couldn't get any performance/score increases after all of those hours and testing manipulating BIOS settings. @ThinderThank you as well sir for your feedback. Its time to move on now to fiddling with DCS Graphics settings. Many thanks guys
  16. @kerlcat Wow, not really what I expected for an response LOL, Seems like alot of wasted BIOS settings for cranking it up if your not really going to be able to do anything more with the CPU then what comes out of the box. I mean, outside of manually cranking up the cores of course. Well, my test results support your statement though. Anywho, so you set your EXPO, then you set PBO, now PBO by default is AUTO, so do you ENABLE it or do you set it for ENHANCED and tweek anything else? Thanks,
  17. So I have been reading and watching Utube Vids all week to learn how to overclock automatically in the BIOS. I have found alot of settings that dont match up to what I have available because they are outdated or whatever etc and read up on this stuff and experimented. Basically, I started out with default settings and started making changes to BIOS 1 step at a time. For Benchmarks, I run Cinebench, Heaven, and 2 DCS Torture tests (With Cap Frame X). I made a spread sheet to log scores/max fps. avg fps, some voltages and temps etc. Started with setting EXPO 1, then EXPO 2, them moved on to setting PBO to AUTO, then Enhanced mode, then setting curve optimizer to neg (Auto) (ALL CORES) etc. The short version of all of this is, there is basically ZERO changes to scores/FPS/Temps etc,,, all of those tweeks sum up to the same as default basically? How can that be? I know this really isnt the thread to resolve, maybe a few tips are available, but I found that posting on the ASUS forums dont yield alot of responses. Can anyone recommend a good place to run this through? I was NOT intending to try and setup every single core to overclock. I would be happy to get some more horsepower with just some switch flipping in the BIOS. Thanks for any tips.
  18. Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated, Im not moving forward until Im clear as to which of these 3 I should change, especially with current matters, I dont want to make a mistake and cook something. Thanks,
  19. @HoirtelIm running BIOS 1602 that came out on 5-4-23, which is the latest for me
  20. I still basically have BIOS at default settings. I ran benchmarks for Cinebench, Heaven and DCS Torture test, then I set BIOS to EXPO 1, ran tests, then EXPO 2. if an7ything, there was very slight degradation with each change. I havnt done anything with Overclocking. Im not going to start putting the hours in to do all of that right now. My intent was to simply set the BIOS to do something to take advantage of the horsepower on its own. I see mentions of turning PBO on, and walking away. I have also seen some comments relative to this that indicate that in doing so, it cranks up the CPU voltage most of the time, perhaps a bit unhealthy? I am willing to flip a switch and check it out. I ran into some confusion though, there seems to be at least 3 switches in the BIOS that could be fiddle with and Im not sure which one I should be toying with. And the explanations I have found in my search are a bit convoluted. Can someone please give me some advise in this area? Thank you. null null
  21. Yeah, Im not to thrilled with current events, I did alot of research for a couple of months and was initially committed to Intel, but after alot of discussion, the swaying factor was price and performance and HEAT! I havnt done any overclocking at all, nor have I set Expo. I just started doing some benchmarking last night with Cinebench, Heaven and Plazma Torture Test to get a baseline before I decide to make any adjustments. I have run DCS a few times and like I said in an earlier statement, i just cranked up all of the DCS settings just to see what this thing would do stock, and I am just so happy with the difference at stock. I was struggling with my older rig with MT. I dont know where this is all going, but I really dont want to have to think about trying to send back the CPU & MOBO to switch to Intel, way to much effort has gone into this build. I am very satissfied with what I have BUT, I want to dabble in VR by end of year, i dont know if these problems will hinder that? 1st Torture test I did last night. null
  22. Thanks, got the CapFrameX software installed and gave it a test run, many thanks
