  1. I searched on several combos of "View" and "Track IR" and didn't see this specific issue reported...

First off, love this A-10C. Just an awesome sim experience...

    However...

When I zoom in to 100% magnification while lining up for a gun pass, I'm getting random un-commanded view changes. I've suddenly found myself looking back over my shoulder, straight up at the canopy bow, down at my left knee, etc.

In short, there's no telling where my view might go at any given moment. Truly frustrating to have this happen as your settling in at 1.3 miles and about to go PAC 1. I have to zoom back out, kind of jog my head a bit and the view settles back to where it should be but by then, I'm usually right over my target getting hosed by MG fire.

This doesn't happen in the P-51D, the Su-27, the Su-33 or the F-15C. And it only happens in the A-10C when my view is through the HUD. I can zoom in at my 6, 3 and 9 all day long with nary a hiccup.

I managed to record one of these anomalies and you can see it on YT. The view jump happens at about 1:00 after I've fired a Maverick and am pressing in to go guns where I get a lovely view of my G Meter. I built the video as a two box so you can see that I'm not doing any heavy maneuvering. Video link below.

I use a CH Fighterstick, Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals with the zoom IN / OUT programmed to the "castle" button under my left thumb on the throttle with down being IN and up being OUT. There are no other views programmed anywhere and Track IR shows I have the proper Absolute Z Axis in place.

I'm using Track IR with a visor clip and aside from this one weirdness, I have nearly unlimited range of motion with over 180 degrees vertically at almost every point of azimuth.

Not the worst issue ever, but it is frustrating to have to break off an attack run because you're suddenly looking out your right ear at the moment of truth!

    Appreciate any help or guidance.

  2. Total DCS noob here who hopes to attempt the MP environment (eventually.)

Made it through page 90 of this thread and all I can say is BRAVO for the ongoing evolution.

Quick Question: If you log in to fly but would rather stay in your side's protected zone (still learning my Hawg), are there things to attack just for practice?

Hoping Santa brings me a Track IR and then maybe I'll be ready to try the "real world")

  3. Perhaps you're thinking of "The Great Book Of Combat Aircraft" ?

The full volume is about two inches thick and they also published each chapter as individual books.

  4. Brand new to DCS and the A-10C having jumped in about a week ago.

I was a long-time Falcon addict but this is a whole different animal. Really enjoying the process of learning the systems, learning to fight and trying to tie it all together with a good joystick config. The depths to which the in-sim switchology goes is mind blowing.

I'm an AZ resident and my day job is aviation photography. Link to my site is in my profile if you'd care to peruse some eye candy.

Reading this forum and scouring the web voraciously for every nugget I can find. Maybe someday I'll be worthy of multiplayer, but I have a lot of work to do first.

    Regards to all...

  5. Hello All...

Rank newbie here just getting my feet wet in DCS. Seriously the most fun I've had since Falcon 4.0.

I've spent far more time in Nevada in the A-10C than I have in the Caucusus and as such, my joystick setup is more solid in Version 2 than in 1.5.

I gather from reading that eventually the two terrains may move in together, but for now can you copy a config built in Version 2 over to Version 1.5?

If so, how would one do it?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

FYI: I'm a CH Stick / Throttle / Pedals kinda pilot...
