  1. (I tried to revive the old thread from last year, but I couldn't seem to find it)

I just wanted to stop a minute and wish you all, the staff over at ED, the developers of third party content, and all the nice people in the community, very happy and peaceful holidays.

  2. It does accelerate forward, but if you time it right and move sideways fast enough it'll work out. The force towards the center of the circle (or the target) gets offset by your momentum while turning. If you are too slow on the sideways motion you don't have the benefit of the tank being unable to fire at you (at least with the main armament) and you also will be struggling to keep a reasonable distance.

I stated the idea is that the circles wouldn't be colored all the time only when you have a unit selected. Right now we have rings around units to denote the range.

As  I stated earlier the idea was only when a unit is selected but an option to show them all the time could work

Oh, don't worry, I noted very warmly how you pointed out how it should be an option to be used when necessary, and I certainly support it. Apart from several other advantages, like being able to distinguish between various weapons employed by a single unit, it would also be tremendously helpful to anyone who has trouble seeing the circles now, be it because of 'VR res issues', the circles being outside the current view or just plain old low contrast.

  4. Well, that is actually one half of the truth. The other half is that the Soviets had this fire-retardant they wanted to put in the cockpits for obvious reasons and it just kinda ended up being that kinda colour. You will find that the actual shades of the turquoise colour differs quite a lot between airframes from the rich paint seen in this video to the much paler shade we got in the DCS MiG-21 to virtually grey with just a hint of green. That often has to do with supply of the material and which factory made it; if it was entirely about wanting a specific colour there would probably have been stricter guidelines about it, seeing how 'regular colour' wasn't scarce and - being how its only purpose would have been to be a specific colour - there would have been more complaints about not matching it.

  5. I wasn't ware of the additional wildlife on the South Atlantic. But... are they 'real'? I mean, are they just animated props that are technically terrain or do they have any sort of agency? Are they moving around on their own, giving the theoretical option of a collision?
