  1. Just put in an order for these, just too many good reviews to ignore :) Expected shipment for January.
  2. Have not noticed any fps loss myself, but wanted to check it out anyway since more information doesn't hurt. I can confirm that the loss of fps is there, but not noticeable since fps is nicely high for me anyway, but it is there. The loss is about 30-40 fps. Did a short video while testing: Specs in signature Cockpit screen resolution: 1024 (Not every frame) Monitor res: 1920x1080 Single Geforce GTX 980 4Gb vram. Attached dcs settings screenshot. Again for me, it has not been noticeable so far and has felt very smooth. But can clearly see, that this can be a problem for someone with lower specs. Edit: This was with a completely fresh install of beta, no files transferred from previous install.
  3. About 42-45 fps for me. about 134 fps in any of the other menus or different theme. For now chose a static theme, since I rather like the system to have a break while in the menu :) Specs in signature.
  4. Really would love to have the possibility to set "up states", for controls and switches, as a built in GUI feature. This is something I have longed for a long time, and I believe, has been requested before.
  5. On it's way down :) Getting about 1.4-1.9 MB/s out of my max speed of 2 MB/s, so not bad.
  6. I'll join in on complementing the team, for keeping us updated with the status on this coming release. This is very much appreciated, thank you
  7. Glad to hear it went well, looking forward to future streams (and archived videos) :)
  8. Generally a good time for me to watch (21:00), but need to work tonight sadly. But I'm sure it will go well, so good good luck with the stream Matt :)
  9. Too bad I may leave for work at that time. So I hope I will see a recording of this later on youtube or twitch vod.
  10. Looks good. I often dislike when websites get a new look, since it tend to lower the functionality of the website too much ,for a more streamlined look. But this I find instantly refreshing, looking good and still very functional. Good Job
  11. Had issues with the logitech G keys and dcs a while ago. I ended up with changing the DCS key commands, so that the commands I wanted on the G keys, did not use any modifiers. So if the command I wanted on the G key was "Ctrl + z", then I would change that to just be "z". This is the only thing that worked reliably for me. To bad if this still doesn't work as it should.
  12. Thanks guys. It was an amazing experience. Was wondering if I should post there or not. But decided to make it it's own topic instead. Good to read your experiences though :)
  13. I live on Faroe Islands, so was lucky enough to experience the total eclipse. The weather was not the best, and it looked like we were doomed with clouds. But just before the moon started off the sun, the clouds started to clear and I managed to grab an image. The weather was good the entire time afterward though, and I managed to grab a few images there as well. I have attached 3 images, if anyone is interested. And I would love to hear about other experiences of this eclipse, images or stories :)
  14. First you need to download and install "DCS World", which is required and free. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/dcs_world/ After that is installed, I recommend starting it up, making sure it works etc. Then you can go in to the "Module Manager" in the DCS menu and install the "DCS: MiG-21bis" directly from there. Or download and install the "DCS: MiG-21bis" module using either the file here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/modules/mig21bis/ It will should find and install in to "DCS World" Edit: Sniped
  15. Thanks. Noticed the same things. Scissor fight to get behind him works for me every time, and after that it is fairly easy to stay there. Fought a few more time with this one: 3rd I finally critically hit him. His Right engine caught fire on my last volley, which also were my last rounds. He then disengaged and headed for home. I followed him the entire route until he landed, his engine was still on fire. 4th Was bit more of a lengthy bfm fight with shifting maneuvers. But in the end he disengaged (Not sure why, perhaps turning off my radar helped) But i would have non of it (training anyway), caught up and shot him down. 5th This one went really low, and the F-4 crashed (not as much fun). 6th This one was very hectic and fight for survival on both sides. I had the upper hand in the beginning, Until a horrible mistake. I ended up climbing after him straight up, and was not able to move my nose anywhere. I was stuck pointing up, until I stalled and my engine cut out. On my way down I hurried to start up the engine again while hoping he didn't catch me. I succeeded, but he also got a shot on me and hit. Still flying ok, the fight turn his way with me fighting like a madman for survival. In the end he suddenly bugged out (propably out of fuel), and as I suddenly realised, me too as my engines cut out. Had to eject. Calling this one a draw :) ACMI attached Dogfight2.zip
  16. Tried this mission two times now. 1st time did not take long to get behind him, and stay behind him. This was actually really fun. This ended in the Phantom doing a inverted loop, stalling (I think) and crashing when he couldn't recover. No shots fired in this one, until after he crashed as a victory celebration. 2nd time, I also got behind him fast enough. I also (according to tacview), landed a gun round on him once. This one ended with me depleting my rounds, and later me flaming out and crashing. Got two tacview files if anyone is interested. I didn't even know it was recording. Dogfight.zip
  17. I did get a redout earlier, with a left full deflection roll. Granted I was going 1400 km/h or more, at a shallow dive.
  18. With the newest update, the "aircrafts" folder is now called "aircraft". Easy to change manually to get it to work though. Hoping to see the Mig-21 added in the future. Great Mod btw
  19. Nice, bought  Now bring on the 18th :joystick:
  20. Odd I can not reproduce this in single player. Need to check this when i'm online again.
  21. True.... but it doesn't change the fact, that the flap switch starts in the up position, which is the info he needed. And yes, pre start checks are always a good idea. Which includes set flap switch to flap position. The part with the throttle I have noticed myself lately. Definitely a bug. During the startup procedure, when needing to move throttle out of detent. I'm having to first pull it out of detent and a bit forward, then back in detent. After this I can then pull the throttle out of detent like normal, and the sim will register it. Might be the same that you were explaining. Been meaning to report this, but I need to check something first.
  22. Should be something like this if I recall: Cold & Dark Prestart ---------------------- Throttles: OFF EAC: OFF (Down) RDR ALTM: DIS (Down) LASTE: ALT/HDG (Middle) Flaps: UP (Up) APU START: OFF (Down) ENG OPER L&R: NORM (Middle) ENG FUEL FLOW: NORM (Up) ------------------------- Boat switch: middle Air Brake: Middle Master Light Switch: Middle ====================================== After Start ready for taxi & Takeoff Same as above except what is shown below ---------------------- Throttles: Idle EAC: ARM (Up) RDR ALTM: NRM (Up) Flaps: M/R (Middle (ready for takeoff)) ------------------------- Master Light Switch: AFT
