  3. Id be happy for anything Hip. Never fully enjoyed Helos in Syria due to the awful LODS on some map structures and some common trees though. Dunno if that has improved of late

  5. Ive done liveries for 3 VVS units. Sadly, The inflexible BORT system of DCS doesnt play nice with VVS aircraft in both fornt or position, kinda making the whole thing a bit pointless.
  6. Hi, Ended up doing a whole new template from scratch. Seemed more appropriate to start a new thread for it here: This doesnt take away from Vond's work. Simply adds more options to anyone who wishes to skin the A20G.
  7. Hi This is a link to my Template for the A20G. A20G DCS V2 15/10/23 Added VVS Layers to represent aircraft from 48, 452 and 640 bap (skins posted in User files Section) Added wider Red Walkway makings, corrected to compensate for skin warpage on inner wings Improved chipping and weathering to walkways Improved worn anti slip walkway Added shading to leading edges of elevators, ailerons and rudder I started out with the intention of adding layers to Vonrd’s template but as things developed, I ended up building something completely new from the base Alpha and UV grid. Many of the layers are from my previous projects from this, other sims and also from around the internet. Whilst I’ve spent hours editing and fitting these to the project, I cannot claim ownership of the original work in many cases. About 50% is mine, 50% not. Ive only produced the Diffuse layers. I found the Normal and Roughmets from the stock fine for me and, to be frank, I do not understnd roughmets yet and didnt want to learn right now!. If anyone wants to produce their own I have hopefully given them enough layers to do so. Any of these layers will work with Vond’s template and vis versa. Add and detract as you wish. Its all about personal preferences. SKINS The following skins can be found in the User Files Section USAAF ETO users, the 409th, 410th and 416th BGs.   8. Thank you for the template @II.JG1_Vonrd. @NineLine I dont really get why the templates for aircraft in the asset pack are not made available given the limited livery options shipped. Its just a file afterall.

  10. Sometimes there is a thought that creeps in that says "its been done - i wont bother" - in the case of generic skins I think the more the merrier as each skinner has their own way of doing things which gives a nice variance. @II.JG1_Vonrd thanks for the template link

  12. Did you try the Alt enter thing?- thats really the only thing that stops stutters for me in DCS.
  13. @Reflected couple of things with the nvidia settings that may or may not help triple buffering. That’s an open gl thing not a dx thing. It’ll either have no impact or some say a negative impact if turned on. Fast sync. A 3070 is perhaps not quite enough to produce the frames required to use this feature fully especially in heavy load situations. Without the system being able to produce 120fps (assuming a 60hz refresh rate) consistently from the game engine it could cause uneven frame pacing which you’ll see as stutter The lower the output the worse the problem. Head tracking compounds this as the motion refresh is constant but the frame pacing isn’t. I’ve never got on with anything but standard vsync due to this Your mileage may vary though as some swear it’s better when logic says it shouldn’t be Frame capping at 60 or 59. Never done anything but worsen the situation for me Atl enter into exclusive full screen. This is the main thing that I find helps stutter. Without it DCS is unenjoyable for me. Sadly and for no apparent reason ED took it away several patches ago but there are partial workarounds if you are in 2D and don’t need to tab into other windows. Search for the subject in the forums. There’s a thread with the solution but it’s a bit convoluted and the golden post may be difficult to find. PM me if you are interested and I’ll dig out the steps

  20. If you look in the detail section of the download you'll likey see comments and/or links to mods that the makers intended the skins to be used with. Some have gone for roughmet mods, some have gone for Warlord64s JSON mod. The JSON mos is the least faff and many of the skins recently uploaded for the B17 competition have been produced to work with it.

This is my second entry for the Competition! 42-31636 “Out House Mouse”, 323BS/91BG [OR-N] Bassingbourn, Cambridgshire, UK, 1944. Delivered on 30/11/43 she was transferred to 323BS/91BG on 12/3/44. One of the famous high scorers of the 91st with 139 mission, Out House Mouse returned to the US on 26/5/45 and sold for scrap on 30/11/45 though this didn’t happen for nearly 20 more years. She has the distinction of being the first heavy bomber attacked by an Me163. As Depicted Lets be honest here. For such a famous aircraft there is precious little to go on in the interweb and I didn’t have time to go lookin elsewhere. In the end I took a single high quality image taken after her 44th mission and based the rest on a Monogram 1/48 reissue. Wear and Tear Wear is light. At this point the aircraft is less than 3 months in service. Still she carries battles scars in the form of an overpainted and patched perforated skin which I tried to match as accuratly as possible and give life to with an amended Normal Map. The skin uses several wear layers the I created for “Swamp Fire” and a few that I’ve created just for it including: Service wear on the wings and over the saddle of the plane. Chips and scratches. Quite subtle. I have attempted to match these to photos of the real thing, especially around No2 engine and the port side nose and port horizontal stabiliser. Patches. As above, Ive tried to match the patches seen on the real thing to the skin. Patches are also given some depth through their inclusion in the custom Normal DDS. These also some Duct Tape in there too as it appears to have been used on the most obvious patch on the nose. Mud and grime around the undercarriage and wheels. Template alterations and corrections Not a full list but this includes: Editing the bright highlights intended for bare metal finishes present on the engine cowls, cheek turrets and saddle joints. Editing the baked part layers to suit the painted scheme and correcting rogue shading (on the starboard lower aileron for instance) Editing many of the general and weathering texture layers to reduce rogue elements near skin joints. Correcting the Seam layer on the wings that is combined with a general texture treatment in the stock template. This eliminates the effect that makes the starboard wing look darker in game. Created the missing identification lights under the fuselage using edited lighting elements from the template. Editing some of the pant layers (clack mainly) into components to better control representation. WARLORD64’s JSON mod. The skin is a compromise between what is standard and this mod. Spec maps are adjusted to tame the effect of the mod if used but not so much the aircraft appears completely flat in the standard game. Much of the chipping has been given a matte treatment in the Spec as I don’t like the in-game darkening effect in certain lights and am not convinced those areas would be so reflective in any case. So it really only affects larger, factory present, bare metal areas. I do recommend the mod however as it does more than just make metal. Matt tyres anyone?   23. Gimme 30 mins and I'll look thrugh the templete @II.JG1_Vonrd its a matter of just clipping the mask of this layer Основной проявочный копия (Main Developing Copy in my pigeon Russain). In the diffuse down at the bottom, third one down in the "AO" secion. Basically a shadow layer gone a little "whey" when mirrored.
