  1. Thanks to everyone for advice. I somehow missed the TS is used in BF. I will try again. BTW that Ralfi's GCI was the kick that has pushed me from "iam too scared for MP" to "ok, I'll give it a try" at the first place (I am still scared tho).
  2. Guys, is there somewere a guide how to start with Blue Flag? I mean how to avoid nonstop confusion about what is happening, what to do, where to spawn, how find friends and foes etc. Today I joined the server. I even downloaded that simple comm or how is it called. Made it work, set freq. like I found the informations on the web page. And was one of two players on the comms from 20 players online in the coallition (as shown on the online web map). It was completely silent. Then I looked at the online map page again, found a airfield next to enemy airfiled, picked a plane a fly to attack stuff on enemy airfield. However I probably offended someone from my coallition as he was annoyed I took "his" spot on airfiled and had hard time to understand what am I doing and why (few "friendly" messages in chat). Well, he was not the only one. I did not understand myself either. I just destroyed some ground units on enemy airfield with no idea if it had any effect or not. The whole concept looks good, but I struggle to find out some stuff for newcomers to help them understand the mission.
  3. For sure I was watching it on YouTube. It was in one of documentary movies uploaded here about Mig-29 or Russian aicrafts. Unfortunately (or maybe thanfuly) there are a quite number of them. I don't have time to watch them all again and search for it, sorry :(
  4. It solves a lot. If you have brain. Visual confirmation is for dismissing doubts. When even after visual confirmation doubts remains what will you do? Will you shoot? Thankfuly Russia has also officers with brains. It has saved Earth from being radiactive wasteland...
  5. Not sure what "bag" is reffering to but I guess it is fuel tank. In one document I saw some video shots from this simulated dogfight with German Mig-29. Video was in terrible resolution but both aircraft looked pretty clean. For sure no bags under wings of F-16. Also read about comparison of F-16 with Russian Mig-29 on one of first international airshows where Mig-29 appeard. Don't remember location and year unfortunately. Pilots were competing in turning. There was said that Mig-29 was always able to fly tighter curve when both aircrafts had no external load. Difference was not significant though. It was more matter of prestige than significant in dogfighting. Still, American pilots had not pleasent suprise their potential enemy has aircraft with comparable parameters. They lived with opinion their aircrafts are far superior to that day. Mig-29 has great aerodynamics and powerful engines. It shocked western world on mentioned air show as it was capable to make maneuvers that no other aircraft of that time (including F-16) was capable of. For example vertical stall (not sure if I call it correctly). In battle F-16 was and still is farly superior though. But it is not due to it's engine or agility. It is because it's avionics and armament which are both just far better than Mig-29's. And it will probably be cheaper to run because of single engine. Or at least that was. We know little about lastest Mig-29 improvements. It can carry R-77 as counterpart for AIM-120 but as far as I know it was never shot in battle. How good missile actually is we simply do not know. We also know there have been improvements in avionics, radar and engines. Primitive HUD repeater was replaced with several MFDs (Mig-35, successor of Mig-29, has 3 of them) etc. It has transformed from pure interceptor to multirole fighter and is still being improved.
  6. No I don't. I'm pretty new to all this radio stuff as I used to use simple radio before. I understand it really poorly but now with F5 I'm forced to learn this stuff because I need it for navigation in this aircraft. If you can tell me how to create TACAN beacon it would be very nice. I feel TACAN is a better way to navigate.
  7. Well I did not. I imagined it way too simple. With file it works. Though on video trigger is set to 300 khz and I need to se 300000 khz. Thank you! I wonder to what vehicles I can put this beacon to make mission realistic. Are there some radio brodcasting mobile stations? And also what power (W) those station usually have and what range of signal it provides. Does anyone know? Thanks a lot :)
  8. Still can't get it working :( In editor: Once->TimeMore(2)->RadioTransmission file: none zone: zone name mod: am loop: on freq khz: 350000 (350 mhz) power w: 10000 (10 kw) <- no idea there.... (range zone-plane ~10nm) name: some name In plane (F-5): radio mode: adf freq mode: man freq: 350.000 (should be 350 mhz according to pdf from this thread) nav mode: df (flag on HSI appear) Small arrow in HSI is still caged at 90° and not moving when changing direction. What am I doing wrong?
  9. I wonder same with another bundle. For bundles in other games I have experience there is usually some kind of refund if you own part of the bundle. Don't get why for such an obvious question there is no information in bundle describtion. However as this describtion is missing they probably do not refund anything in DSC and those bundles are only for those who own nothing of it yet.
  10. PDF-PART12-ADF I'm trying to create such a beacon but with no success. Can anyone describe progress how to do it?
  11. I know there is solution (maybe even several) for described limitations and I was thinking about one myself but I didn't develop/implement any for two reasons. First - for my case I don't mind those limitations. It is additional randomized factor: sometimes it may happen to nothing will be spawn. Bad/good (depending on your side of course) luck happens. Second - I wanted to make my example here as simple as possible. Anyway thank you for reaction. I think it may help people who wants to create more reliable spawning alghoritm :)
  12. This is very good tip Ramsay, thank you! Simply by accident, don't you have QNH (barometric pressure adjusted to sea level) data for ingame airfields? I'd like to take them "with me" as well. I do understand QNH may differ in time for same place and one should ask ATC for actual one but ingame there is not this option and game weather is usually static anyway. I can't find those number anywhere - they are not in papers nor in F-10 map.
  13. Airfield elevation is in papers (just be careful if value is in meters or feet, you may need to recalculate value to units you need), you can find it there ingame (also in F-10 map you can find it). But you need to flight perfectly straight (no altitude change) and then make change on your altimeter. I can imagine this approach is very open to inaccuracy. Set barometric value is just way better.
  14. Not sure if there is already this task described/solved or not in this topic. I didn't read it all. I just solved one issue of mine and want to share my solution because someone may find it useful (even for other purpose than originally intended). If it is duplicate post feel free to ignore/erase it. Problem: In endless loop spawn/activate random group of units after elapsing certain time from previous spawn. Or do whatever else you want. Main point basically is this endless loop/cycle of doing/repeating something after time periods. Simple solution just via triggers: Init: Mission Start -> empty -> Flag On [1] / Flag Off [2], Set Flag Value [2, 0] (flag 1 on = we are waiting, flag 1 off = we are spawning, choose on/off depending if you want first spawn on mission start or after first time period from mission start; flag 2 is for no use yet so give him value that does nothing but it is good to keep it here for we see we are using this flag somewhere in this mission later on) Spawner: Continuous Action -> Flag Is False [1] -> Flag Set Random Value [2, 1, 10], Flag On [1] (everytime flag 1 is false/off set random value for flag 2 between 1 and 10 - flag 2 is spawning flag - and then turn flag 1 to true/on for inicialize waiting period in Repeater) Repeater: Continuous Action -> Time Since Flag [1, 300] -> Flag Off [1] (after flag 1 switched to true/on by spawn in Spawner wait 300 seconds and turn flag 1 false/off - inicialize new spawn via Spawner) Spawn Unit 1: Once -> Flag Equals [2, 1] -> Group Activate [Group 1] (spawn group 1) Spawn Unit 2: Once -> Flag Equals [2, 2] -> Group Activate [Group 2] (spawn group 2) . . . Spawn Unit 10: Once -> Flag Equals [2, 10] -> Group Activate [Group 10] (spawn group 10) Of course this solution have some issues. But every simple solution does, unfortunatelly. Issues are: 1) Though time loop is endless, unit groups are not. Meaning at certain time you run out of group to spawn. 2) If random generator generate number that it did already in the past nothing will spawn because unit for spawn is already spawned. 3) As you run out of units for spawn there is less probability to spawn anything in every new cycle.
  15. Well that is the problem. I mean no radar altitude. Real barometric altitute can come in handy because lot of stuff is marked in this way. Like mountains height. So you want to know your "above sea leavel" altitude. Bud also "above ground". Especially when landing, right? So I'd somehow expect to change this settings depending if I'm in "fly" or "landing" mode. Before start I'd like to set "above sea level" zero altitude because I don't need airfield-zero for take off. When going to land I'd expect that airfield tells me their barometric pressure for zero altitude on runway so I can set my barometric altmetr to 0 on runway I'm going to land to. This may vary for same runway weather depended so you should recieve this information before landing (probably useless to write it into papers as it can vary). I'd expect to be able to ask ATC for this information but can't see it in radio option nor in papers (I looked into them just in case) to current airfield. So I'm confused. It is just my common logic, don't know how it work IRL.
  16. How can I get QNH when I'm on ground? To set altimeter while start-up procedure? In tutorial they say look at mission briefing into weather section. But there is only info about wind, turbulence, clouds and temperature. No barometric pressure.
  17. Can you (or anyone) please add picture of papers (K key) for some airport where in those papers can I find all those informations from your screenshot (F-10 map)? Because, I don't know why, sometimes F-10 map stop show me details of selected items and then I'm blind. There are a lot of numbers and shortcuts in those papers and I don't know which number is what. Thank you :)
  18. I have this issue only when fly FC3+Su25T aircrafts, bought Ka50 and F5E few days back and when flying those everything is ok.
  19. F-16s is the reason why there are no F-20s. Let me explain. You must understand F-5 was developped mainly as small and cheap export aircraft. When you try make cheap plane you include only core and most important/efficient/used systems. One of systems excluded for F-5s was BVR radar guided missiles as they were very inefficient back then (hit ratio ~10%). As time passed by BVR radar guided missile hit ratio raised to over 50% and this system became important for air to air combat. It was when F-5 become obsolete. F-20 was designed to change it (capable of releasing AIM-7 missiles) but had hard competition: new F-16 (project F-20 started in 1975, first F-16 flight was in 1974). Potential customers for fighters with BVR capabilities decided F-16 is overall better aircraft than F-20 in comparison value/money/future support/development, thus they bought F-16s. After 6 years of searching for customer Northop canceled the F-20 project. Although F-20 was actually completed and ready to production it found no buyer ever. Sad story for interesting aircraft. I'd like to fly it in DCS.
  20. I was thinking more like current L-39 mod could contain both aircrafts rather than creating another mod for similar one. I feel like L-39 combat capabilities are very limited due to aircraft's age and primary focus as training machine. L-159 is designed for modern combat. It could catch attention of people who would otherwise overlook L-39. Those who are now probably playing A-10C instead.
  21. Thank you guys. I appreciate your offer :) Unfortunatelly I have some issues with lack of free time lately :( I will consider joining you should it get any better in the future. Good luck until then :)
  22. Thank you guys, it works!
  23. Hello. Is it possible to change language without reinstalling the game? I didn't find it anywhere in menus (I don't mean cockpit language but menu language). Thank you!
  24. Well, thank you all. I guess I have some new interesting knowledge to do some cool stuff :)
  25. Maybe I found even better solution in MIST. No ID needed: handler = {} world.addEventHandler(handler) handler.onEvent = function (self,event) local vars = {} vars.zones = { 'BridgeZone' } vars.flag = 1 mist.flagFunc.mapobjs_dead_zones(vars) end From documentation:
