  1. I don't want to be too negative as I don't fully understand. Is ED a bunch of cools dude developing a virtual world for flight sim nuts in a garage during their spare time? Or are they paid developers bringing to market a top notch flight sim. If the former is true than thanks guys. Keep up the good work. It's appreciated If its latter, well, that's truly unfortunate. <S>
  2. Lots of us know but if I said I said it most would be like, "What?"
  3. Tom Baca, a well known and respected Viet Nam Huey pilot said that he could get the helicopter to do whatever he needed without moving the cyclic more than the size of a silver dollar. It's obviously not the same experience on a computer especially with a short throw stick and no real acceleration/deceleration reference but I think curves are only needed to compensate for cheaper pots around the centers. My 2 cents.
  4. Again, thanks. My plan is to get the straight up TracKIR sensa pro-clip. I think, without a doubt the ease of view access would be an instant plus especially in the Huey.
  5. Hey and thanks for the input. It seems to me that the clip thing is more "purpose" built. Is the hat thing better or at least equal? If a damn hat is needed a damn hat it shall be :)
  6. I've heard good things about the proper TrackIR stuff. Also heard that the optional track-clip that mounts to ones headset is rubbish. Is the reflector that you wear on a hat just as good and can it be mounted to a headset? Cheers
  7. NOIR works fairly well but lighting and the curves are picky. They need to be spot on. I don't know enough about Track IR or anything else out there to recommend one over the other. I was just bored one day and picked up a used PS3 camera and tried it out. I'd say though that it was worth the 9.99 USD camera cost. I've been flight simming since the mid 80's (except for an extended break to learn to fly irl) Anything "headtracking" related is going to be tough for me to get used to. Was thinking about pulling the trigger on a Natural Point TrackIR but I need to let the wife forget about the money I just spent on building my computer. It's either that or be real nice to her, glad she has a short memory.
  8. The spectators look a lot like Charlie. lol
  9. Good stuff and a lot of fun. Need to work on my rudder control and coordinated flight but here is my go.
