The button on the PCA is only for KL2 mode. You have to use the "AA guns select" binding on the stick to put the guns in KL1 mode. They changed this a while back and the guns training mission and Chuck's guide haven't been updated to reflect the new behavior yet

Ahh, OK. I was using a stationary carrier with no wind. I'll experiment some more when I get home tonight. I'll check for war power as well.

Do you have to turn around first and get some extra runway length to take off from the carrier? I can't take off successfully from the ramp position with 50% fuel and no missiles.

Is it currently possible to take off from the carrier deck with the PFM? I can't get enough speed. I've tried taking only half of a fuel load.
