  1. This! Once I understood your instruction to fly the jet onto the runway and worked on my flare, it's now second nature for me. The only thing I glance at in the HUD is my airspeed. As long as I keep it at 200 it's pretty easy. I'm approaching 200 successful landings in the last 90 days.
  2. Thanks. I'll give it a try when I get home. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  3. I've lost Fkeys F6 through F10 for communication with AWACS and flight members. The only thing I did was hook up my TM Warthog and Throttle. Any advice on an easy way to get them back? I currently only fly the F15. I did choose the F15 option in the Target software for the TM.
  4. LOL! Have you never heard of "blue ice"? In my weak defense of stupidity, we flew entirely over heavily wooded areas on that trip. I
  5. About 15 years ago I took an offered ride in an old Piper Cub for a short business trip from Upstate NY to central Pa. About a 90 minute hop. My buddy the pilot had stopped at a roadside stand and picked up a small bag of apples before heading to the airport. After takeoff, he reached behind my seat and pulled out the apples and we proceeded to have a snack. He finished his first and chucked the core out the vent window and I did the same. We each ate 2 or 3 apples. Upon landing we taxied to the small terminal to park and take fuel before returning. The fueler asked "WTF happened here". The stabilizer, rudders and elevators looked like someone had beat them with a hammer. DOH! Turns out apple cores pack a little punch when chucked from an airplane.

  8. As the good Cap'n implies, it's all about rudder control on roll out. I've been flying and landing the F15 daily for a few months and I've found that smooth roll outs require very subtle rudder adjustments until getting below 50 knots. If your first correction is overdone it them becomes very difficult to keep the jet near the middle of the runway, and can quickly devolve into a "swerve fest". You need to adjust the curve of your rudder control or practice more by doing repeated touch and go landings and concentrating on a smoother roll out until you get under 50 knots or so. In short, keep it subtle.
  9. Nice. I did something similar last week with a drum throne for my TM Hotas. I've got a tripod around here somewhere, but it never crossed my mind til I was what you've done. Time to set up my throttle! Thanks
  10. For $900 they better massage my feet while I battle. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks for all the advice guys. I ended up going with CH Pro pedals. They work fine with the F15, especially after I set up my TM Warthog with the brake activated by the pinkie trigger. I tried using the toe brakes, but more often than not ended up veering wildly across the runway. I may upgrade in the future when I add other modules. Thanks again.
  12. The stick and throttle are absolutely perfect also. Not a scratch anywhere. I couldn't even find a fingerprint!:)
  13. I found a pre owned TM Hotas on Amazon at a fair price and in excellent condition so I ordered it and it arrived today. Upon unboxing I found this note and gift from the previous owner. Kinda cool eh?
  14. Damn shame. Blue Angels are scheduled to fly a show here next week. Last time they lost a pilot it was 5 months before they performed again. My thoughts are with the family.
  15. I've seen the Crosswinds, but it seems US availability is an issue.
  16. I've got the TM Warthog on the way, and I'm going to need rudder pedals. I've done a forum search, but a lot of the threads are kind of dated. I fly the F15 for the most part. I'd like to stay under $175. I live in the U.S. I'm hoping for suggestions of currently available pedals here in the U.S. Thanks in advance.
  17. Not that I'm aware of. Hoping for this week, as it's been a couple of weeks since an update for 2.0
  18. As a noob to DCS with 1 month flying the F15, this is exactly what I needed. Very well done sir! Thank You.
  19. Wags posted in the thread below this one (Mission 10) that has the same issue. He said it's fixed and will be in the next update. Hopefully that will be this week. I'm stuck on Mission 3 myself.
  20. I have the same stick as the OP. A little counter rudder on run up to rotation keeps me online for takeoff. It doesn't take much, but with a little practice it will work.

  22. I have both loaded on my system, although I did 1.5 first and 2.0 the next day. I've since added a couple of modules, and they appear and are usable in both. Just a guess, but perhaps 1.5 needs to be downloaded first.
  23. They flew under your radar cone. They usually appear east of the FEBA line flying very low. I only spotted them due to using labels for the mission.
  24. They flew underneath your radar cone. They appear about 5 to 10 miles east of the FEBA at 2000ft. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
