I second this, we have some utterly superb models from the likes of Eightball, but we're still super-limited on the humans, especially infantry and civvies. Really needing an animated (non-Spetznas) RPG squad, for example. R. Man, you are the best! Do you have a "buy me a coffee" or similar account, because I wouldn't mind slinging a few quid your way for all the fun I have with your assets Rik.

If so, please share I'm halfway there: perform a programmed 180° (turn=left at ~4-5g for "sector" 180, bank angle populates automatically), however, the problem isn't there, it's getting the AI to perform the base leg and final; in short, it makes a proper pig's ear of it and it'll wander miles away, do many and varied turns and climbs before it finally settles on final and lands.

I came here looking for info because I too find there's diddly-squat in the way of documentation and I also found very little out there on the interwebz. But I see you already made a mistake that I figured out a while back, so seeing as nobody else replied, here goes: Remember that DCS is largely developed by folks who work in metric... Now you'll understand why in your first example the jet whooshes up to ~20k feet; that's ~7000 meters you have requested. In your second example, the AI works as programmed; you asked it to do a barrel roll not an aileron roll. For me, it's doing exactly what was asked of it.

That's what worked for me (ESET Internet Security 15.2.11.0). R.

Just came here to say thank you and to have a chuckle at the last two pages of the read me for the ships mod R.

{thread necro} Found myself here because I was trying to create a SP mission that was to have a battery of M109s "softening up" some entrenched T-55s. Long story short, couldn't get any of the long tube arty to fire a round (tried the 2S19 and even the M12) some of them remaining in the "closed" position and not even budging an inch. I substituted M270 MLRS units and they did fire, but again it wasn't consistent (despite all units set to "excellent" skill) with some of the units refusing to fire at all. Tried swapping the M270s for SMERCH and all of those refused to fire at all. Think AI arty is a bit broken right now P.S. this is in OB 2.7.5.10869

DCS World TARGET profile for TM Cougar and Warthog + MFDs

De nada! Happy holidays and safe travels, Don :) Rik. -
Following! I too am not a fan of the Jeff, not due to aesthetics or capability, just that it kind of doesn't fit my playstyle in DCS. I'd actually be happy with an AI Gripen, but flyable would be the cherry on the top :) Best wishes!

DCS World TARGET profile for TM Cougar and Warthog + MFDs
Wikkus replied to Home Fries's topic in Thrustmaster
Hey there! Fantastic utility, really helped tame my old TM HOTAS Cougar and a worthy successor to my "old skool" days with Foxy. Now, it took a while to get my head around some of it, but I think I'm there now, except for a couple of issues: 1) TrackIR integration. I changed the mapping in the TIR program to reflect the config suggested in CTS, but I can't seem to get it to work at all, i.e. works fine in the TIR utility, ignores me once in DCS; the guide suggests that S3+S4 should recenter. 2) Similarly, either I'm misreading this or there's a problem; in the F/A-18C mapping, it suggests that (with the APU running) the DF switch T7/T8 should correspond to L/R engine crank, respectively. Can't seem to get this to work either :/ I'm using CTS 2.520 (as of this morning :) ) and the TARGET FA18C kb v247N.diff.lua/TARGET FA18C HC v245.diff.lua files loaded into DCS. What am I doing wrong, please? Cheers, Rik. -
Problem maintaining concurrent installs (OB + Release)
Wikkus replied to Wikkus's topic in Installation Problems
Glad that you figured out something that works for you, however, I think we might be at cross-purposes a bit here despite our desired outcome being the same thing, i.e. two DCS installs; one OB, one release, each with their own folder in Saved Games. So, I tried a different tack this afternoon and used Skatezilla's excellent GUI updater tool to initiate a totally new release version, fresh off the server. (Advanced Update Options > Manually Initialize and Install w/DCS Update > populate the fields as required > step through the installation by moving down the task list) I then launched this fresh install and after I'd entered my account credentials, it gave me a splash screen and wound up at the main menu. No modules present because it's a fresh installation, but modules waiting and ready to download. Now, this shiny, new, virgin installation was totally vanilla; windowed, everything set to "low", defaults, etc. 1280x720 resolution, painfully loud volume, et al. So, I immediately exited the sim, checked my Saved Games folder and, sure enough, there's a corresponding shiny, new, unmolested DCS folder sat there. So, I go back to Skatezilla's utility and tell it to copy the config from my known working OB install to the virgin Release install (Application Settings > Manage Config Folders > Source = Open Beta > Destination = Release > Copy) Switch the launcher to point to the release version and {drum roll} it works! Not sure why the DCS_variant file method didn't work, but hey ho. -
Hiya, font of all knowledge :) I had to delete my release installation a while ago and for some considerable time was just running the OB. I now want to go back to having both, so I created a DCS_variants file, duplicated my OB into a new folder, did the edit on my variants file (Release) ran the executable, got to the menu screen, but it didn't pick up my settings from OB and instead had defaults. How do I exactly replicate my OB config but in Release? Sorry if I'm being thick, but seriously, I need a lie down :) Rik.

DCS World TARGET profile for TM Cougar and Warthog + MFDs

Thanks for taking the time to reply, Home Fries. Still having an issue here as a) I'm using a Cougar TQS rather than the WH, and b) the "Throttle Options - Cougar" page doesn't mention the AB detent position (although it does have min/max percentages, idle detent low/high percent). From running Ye Olde "ThrottleRange.exe" on it, I know the following: [Throttle] PhysicalMin=28576 PhysicalMax=42336 MILValue=32032 MILPercent=39 AFBValue=36960 AFBPercent=75 But can't get that to translate into anything I can (obviously) plug into CTS before it build the script :( Sorry if I'm being dense. Rik. -
Agreed. Fascinating to read, but a bit beyond what I'm trying to achieve here. Thanks for the input and ideas, RB! Rik.
-
Ta, muchly! Actually, yes it does and no idea why I've not seen it before now as I've been subscribed to Red Kite's channel for ages. Have been trying to get my TQS curve right for months, but that helped me understand where I've been a bit off. Cheers! Rik.
-
+ several million votes ;) Anybody got similar for the TM Cougar TQS or point me to an appropriate thread? Only the WH numbers don't correlate particularly closely :( Cheers, Rik
-
At the risk of thread necro-age, I'd be interested in such a thing (along with a way to fix the A/B activation point in DCS) so... {adds thread to watch list} Cheers, Rik.

DCS World TARGET profile for TM Cougar and Warthog + MFDs
Wikkus replied to Home Fries's topic in Thrustmaster
That, my friend was 100% pure gold! Went with option B as I cannot recall the last time I had any cause to use the Windows Store anyway. Worked like a charm! All the other weird stuff regarding the wing sweep controls was legacy cruft from my previous config. The Tomcat profile works just great! Cannot wait to "fix" all my other modules  The one thing I've yet to figure out is a decent curve for my throttle so that the afterburner detent matches the point where it's supposed to light. Right now It lights at ~95% of travel and only gives ~98% total range. Any thoughts on that one? All the very best, Rik. -
DCS World TARGET profile for TM Cougar and Warthog + MFDs
Wikkus replied to Home Fries's topic in Thrustmaster
An ignoramus seeks help Hi Home Fries! Only recently discovered CTS -- I've been muddling along with pure DX commands until now -- but the recent purchase of the F-16 module made me look for a way to get my TM HOTAS Cougar's dogfight switch to work properly and CTS seemed to be the way. I'm still very much a novice at this (although I'm a Foxy user from Falcon 4.0 days) and am struggling with a couple of concepts; I use the TM HOTASConfig utility to calibrate my stick -- for some reason, since we left Win XP, I've had to do this every single time the PC starts up ????-- and then I launch CTS, check for updates, make any necessary changes, build the script if needed, then hit the play button to load the script into TARGET. All fine and dandy. I can even use the on-the-fly-switcher to change profiles, which is also neat. After I fire up DCS, upon entering the Controls settings page for a particular module, I can add the switch modifiers (30-32) and then load the diff .LUAs for KB and my HOTAS Cougar for the respective module. Where my confusion comes in is that I still have two columns for my stick; one the original DX "hardware" column, the second for the "virtual" (TARGET) stick. Some things are mapped onto one, but not onto the other. For example, my NWS on the F-16 wouldn't work at first, but then I removed and re-added a bind for the hardware stick column to button 5 and it works. But, I found myself head-scratching last night; when trying to configure the F-14, I believe the Dogfight switch on my Cougar is supposed to control the wing sweep mode, but I can't for the life of me get it to respond, but I note that the actual mapping has 22/24 control Auto/Man wing sweep which ought to be for Jester AI/Intercom and PTT Common/Intercomm respectively, at least according to the reference map. Similarly, I cannot get the NWS to work and attempting to map it in the "hardware" column, sees the modifiers (J-30, etc.) register when I hit button 3. Clearly, I'm doing something wrong here, but I'm feeling a bit lost at the mo. Win10 64-bit, TM HOTAS Cougar & TQS, MFG Crosswind pedals. Cheers, Rik. -
Yup, confirmed. Latest definitions have fixed this. Rik.

Seeing this thread (and a couple of related ones) blow up in the last week or so. When I originally posted my reply about ESET, I tested one of the "infected" files online using VirusTotal.com's multi-engine scanner. Only ESET and a couple of others (WinDefender being one) detected it as a threat. Fast forward to today with a bunch more folks reporting issues and I tried another online analysis. Now we've got 12 (of 71) engines detecting it, although WinDefender is no longer one of them. This suggests to me that it really is a false positive and that some vendors are more agile in their response to reporting it than others.

Also, possibly the wrong place to be flagging this, but in the same mission I witnessed the Crabstang, I saw that a few of the damage/destruction animations for the Ju-88 (and the Bf-109) were a little odd. These aircraft were caught taxiing and were repeatedly strafed by AI P-51s performing a "fighter sweep". They broke, umm, awkwardly leaving unsupported fuselages just suspended in the air, multiple canopies left underneath the 109s (I think one per strafe attack, but not certain) and same again for elevator parts on one of them. Rik.
