  1. I apologize if this has been brought up before but I could not find anything in a quick forum search. Would it be possible for HB to “fix” the colors of the fuel tanks and pylons on the VF-101 Red livery to match the colors of the fuselage? I realize they are removable items IRL and therefore may not have been painted to match this one off livery. That said, it would really help my OCD and add that little touch to make this my favorite of the current options. Is this feasable?

  2. Quote- “In 1994 VF-11 added another upgrade to the F-14, giving it the capability to use NVG's (Night Vision Goggles). These literally allow pilots to see in the dark, replacing instrument flying with a clear (but green tinted) view of the world around them. While having their limitations, NVG's provide a big leap in night time capability, especially in roles such as precision night bombing, forward air control and combat search and rescue, where accuracy and being able to correctly identify the target are essential.

The NVG's are mounted onto the pilot's helmet and flip up out of view when not needed. As NVG's multiply available light hundreds of times changes had to be made to the F-14's internal and instrument lighting, which if left at their normal level would blind pilots wearing NVG's. Thus VF-11 developed a set of filters and lenses to fit over F-14 cockpit instruments and controls to allow the flight crew to change between normal and NVG lighting.“

  3. My only gripes with the Tomcat's sounds so far are the way that any Tomcat on the field with its engines running is absolutely deafening to everyone else, and the inability (at least that I have found) to be able to lower the sound of the ECS. Having never flown a Tomcat I can not vouch for any authenticity of the sounds but I would think I would be able to turn down the air conditioning to a quieter level.

  4. Hello all. I’m having an issue with the wheel brake bindings and am curious if anyone else is experiencing the same. I am using a TM Warthog and MFG Crosswind pedals and as a lower right leg amputee I typically use the binding that is for both brakes applied simultaneously preferably on the left pedal toe brake axis. Or if that doesn’t work the. I can usually bind it as a button on the pedals as the MFG’s also use the toe brakes as a button, the problem is that none of them seem to work. The pedals work just fine for yaw control, and the bindings mentioned above work great on all the other modules I regularly fly so I’m starting to think it my be a bug. Anyone else seeing the same issue? Thanks all!

  5. Did I miss something? I just looked in the Downloadsection and looked for all your content but can not find the download link? Maybe it is not yet available for D/L?

Besides that :) Thank you for your awesome work on the checklists! They are very handy.

Same here. Was sure it would be available by now. Unless ED really does drag their feet on putting the files up.

  6. I did a little reading in the manual last night and it does mention bringing the power up to 10500 RPM to start taxiing, and that seems about right for breakaway thrust. But you should not need that much thrust to maintain taxi speed as you have already have built some momentum.

  7. I have no clue if this is a bug or working properly as I am no where near an SME, but is the current amount of thrust required to maintain a taxi correct? With full fuel and 2 drop tanks I expected a pretty high breakaway thrust requirement but needing a 10K RPM power setting seems high. Just curious if this is correct. Thanks for a great bird!

  8. The corrosion on the fasteners in the reference pictures make it pretty clear that they are from an aircraft that has likely been out out in the elements for quite a while. Personally I do not mind the shiny new aircraft look but I would not say no to some less cared for liveries as well,

  9. I guess I am lucky in the fact that all the bindings I set up this morning were working just fine.

I will say that I wish we had a special binding for the 3 position flap switch to match the available flap settings. Not a huge issue but a quality of life item.

  10. For some reason every single time I get hit with anything I always seem to lose at least one engine. If I still have one good engine, no biggie. Secure the dead engine and divert to the nearest friendly airfield.

Losing both engines is another story. After dumping stores, and starting the APU, I will try a relight if the fire is out. I have never been able to get an engine back up to full operating condition but I have had some luck getting one back to idle and idle thrust is better than no thrust. I know we can always punch out but I typically try to get the plane on the ground. Roads and open fields can be your friend.

  11. I could just imagine how cool it would be to buzz around DCS in the Huey with my iPad/kneeboard strapped to my leg, running Foreflight, just like I do in P3D. Pardon the pun but I think you are on to a game changer here. I can see this really helping with SA as it gets more and more fleshed out. Keep up the good work!
