  1. The CADC, or Central Air Data Computer, provides airspeed values, temperature values, and pressure values to Hawg systems (among other things.) The reason that the CADC failure does not affect flight is because it does not affect the Hawg's ability to fly. It only affects systems that are dependent on the CADC. The Pitot-Static airspeed indicator is a backup for the CADC upon its failure.

  2. I just got my computer back from the shop after losing all my files to CERBER ransomware (it's a #$&*%^#(! While I have saved most of our pictures, and music (they were on another drive), the machine has been reformatted completely and all my DCS files are no more. I still have my serial numbers and emails from Eagle Dynamics confirming purchases, etc. (e-mails are a great thing if you aren't running for President).

I don't have any way of de- activating my content as my computer has no files associated with DCS left. Does anyone know what I can do; I am planning to download everything later in the week at a friend's house (extremely fast cable internet). I don't mind using up an activation, I just want to be able to get the whole thing back where it was. Any help would be immensely appreciated. :pilotfly:

    Hey Doc,

Sorry about that ransomware. That's a pain, and it sucks that people have to be destructive like that instead of constructive. I'm assuming that what you mean in terms of getting DCS back to where it was would be your control setups for each aircraft? I can send you the ones I have for the aircraft I fly (which is more than a few.) Feel free to private message me if you want/need to.

  3. Nice setup!

I fly with my dad almost every day, I am 47. We started in the Falcon 2.0 days when I was in my early 20s. It is just amazing what we have now. We never dreamed that we would have something like DCS. The future looks bright.

Take a look at my setup. I could not even dream this, back in the 1990s.

I just got my Vive a couple of weeks ago. It really adds immersion to DCS. I was surprised to find the helicopter cockpits feeling larger than I would have thought them to be. Thanks for sharing, looks neat!

  4. I can't wait to fly it either! It is going to be a unique experience. I'll be flying the Spitfire on Friday, (provided it is released following the information on that pre-order page) and it would be cool if some of you would want to come and fly with us! Cheers, folks.

  5. I've gotta step in here as well. Sometimes I will admit to getting frustrated too. But I think patience and understanding are going to be more productive in the long run than assuming the worst and getting angry. I think DCS has a bright future going forward. We are very close to a lot of great things and we need to support ED/TFC and its third party developers the best that we can. :D Cheers, everyone.

  6. I wasn't being belittling, I was sharing my experience the same as the pilot did to you Zimmerdylan.

No two pilots in the same squadron do everything the same, I see that in person every day.

Sorry if you took it the wrong way, but I have over 10 years maintenance experience on the A-10 (a and c models) and am in the middle of a deployment right now. Google turkey and a-10s.

Lastly, Did you even read the entire original post? I confirmed and agreed with a lot of what your wrote.

    Anyways, took this yesterday.
