  1. I'm on the same boat. Like someone said before, the Hornet can do everything the Viper do and perform better. But still, same as the F-14, there's that nostalgia effect.
  2. aw my other post was deleted because 1.15, something I wasn't aware off. anyway, I also said that the investment for the F-16 would turn into profit in the blink of an eye.
  3. well, it's official now: two weeks after the release (which is Jan 31st, so on Steam I'd presume from Feb 14th to 16th).
  4. After the F/A-18, I think DCS gonna need a Su-27 or later model with full clickable cockpit. And the next US aircraft should be no doubt the F-16. DCS _NEED_ this aircraft.
  5. I asked Wagz in one of his Youtube videos, here's the response: I wanted a more specific answer but he kept it vague. This same statement was in one of the newsletter detailing the release of 2.5 in the end of January. My guess is... at least a week. As a DCS-Steam user, I won't complain as I have in the past because ED has shown some love to us lately. Modules aren't taking as long as before to be released on Steam.
  6. Easier: Hornet Fun: Both You gonna have a good time with the Hornet, flying different types of missions, carrier ops, etc. The Tomcat still gonna take some time to be release (Q4 2018?) so you gonna have plenty of time to learn the Hornet and decide if you wanna learn a new aircraft. And +1 Viper Club.
  7. Are you planning to release a dynamic mission for the updated Caucasus map in 2.5?
  8. I believe not only the glass was improved but the whole hud symbology too. It used to be much thinner. Now it's much more readable.
  9. Why is right engine started first? Does it make any difference in DCS World? I always start left first in every aircraft.
  10. Also these. I'm on the same boat as you. Gonna take a look at the videos Teleblaster linked too.
  11. so much bashing to what I said without reading EDs post on Facebook(?) the bugs left seems to be related to missions/campaigns only, according to their post. so a 2.5 multiplayer-summer-only could be a reality. remember that Wagner said on his post two weeks ago that'd be releasing in a "couple of weeks". maybe that was their original plan. anyway, it was just a suggestion not totally out of reach. I wish everybody and especially ED's team happy holidays!
  12. So, I read the announcement on Facebook, but I would like to make a suggestion. I understand the reasons to push the release of DCS World 2.5 to late January 2018 (this time a promise, not an estimate) but why not release an Open Alpha of 2.5 during the Holidays, with summer season only, and no or limited support for the missions, so we can fly in multiplayer with friends and stuff. Lot's of people will be at home with a lot of free time and would be nice to be able to play 2.5 even in a limited and not bug free state.
  13. lol, that'd be sweet! gotta say I`m pretty excited about the DCS 2.5 announcement!
  14. wait a minute: the Bf 109 K is leaving early access and was already available on steam since... Dec 2014? and man, 2.5 looks fantastic! I want my F-5 steam key!
  15. there were two images of the new mig-29 model on the facebook and they removed I wonder why. if they were planning to release in this update and found a last minute bug or something. they looked pretty. very pretty.
  16. well, at least I know for sure, as a Steam user, that I won't be flying the F/A-18C this year. as for standalone, sounds like a very tight agenda for ED and you'll be lucky if they manage to release this year. the good thing is, we'll be all busy and well entertained with 2.5.
  17. that's a very sexy cockpit, with two mfds and an ICP much like the F-16. I approve.
  18. 1- promotion, not notification 2- the video fits in the newsletter subject then you gonna say a bunch of things about "video promotion" and bla bla. but I'm not citing his video just for the sake of promotion, but because - gonna stress this again - it's very informative: for people looking about the aircraft, still deciding if it's worth, or also learning its systems/instrumentation/quirks/stuff. for the work and effort bunnyap is putting in these videos about the F-5E - that also helps promote DCS and the module - and since the newsletter is already featuring some community videos, I just think it would be a nice thing to do. hope you understand my point now. it's hard for me to explain and express myself since english is not my natural language. tried my best to explain the right point (with the help of a couple of edits :P)
  19. lol, I was even quoted from another post. but I'm slightly mad with this week community news. few videos about the F-5E were posted and not a single one from bunnyap sim - one of my fave dcs youtubers - and he's making a very, very indepth video series about the aircraft: [ame] [/ame] this is ep 3. come on, chizh, you gotta fix that!
  20. what a great project! do you guys need any help in the graphical department? textures, liveries, hud, what not,
  21. if the mirage 2000 and the f-16 had a baby
  22. I know 3 different styles of Kung Fu, 5 of Karate, 2 of Muay Thai, 4 Judos and 6 interpretative dances. F/A-18C on Christmas, now we're talking! I hope ED manage to release it faster as they did with the L-39.
  23. gorgeous indeed. more colors on buildings, more realistic lightning. *hype and waiting intensifies*
