  1. Cobra, this all looks great. I really like the CRT effect on the radar screen. Awesome job! Regarding the terrain avoidance mode, particularly in this picture. I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking at. The darker areas are terrain that's directly in front of your aircraft? Does this mean that in effect, if anything shows up on your scope in terrain avoidance mode it means there's something in your flight path? The goal should be to have a totally clear scope?
  2. If you remove the external weapon hardpoints in the mission editor, the Mi-8 will spawn without the gunsight at all.
  3. Ok mate, thanks for your help. I'll give it a look.
  4. Ouch, $20. You got the manual? Is it worth a read? How close is the Mk.53 to the T.1A?
  5. Hi All, Just wondering if anybody has any Fuel Performance charts for the Hawk? Something that shows things like; - Optimum cruise speeds/altitudes for fuel efficiency. - Optimum climb profiles. - Expected fuel burn at various altitudes/weights etc. - Recommended minimum fuel. - Expected fuel burn on take off, landing etc/ Essentially I'd like to be able to plan full mission from scratch including expected fuel consumption, to make sure I set correct Bingo fuel levels. Does anything like this exist? I've had a look around the tinterwebs and it seems like Hawk T.1 literature is pretty hard to find. Thanks in advance for any help. BritTorrent
  6. Hi All, Just wondering if anybody has any Fuel Performance charts for the M2000C ? Something that shows things like; - Optimum cruise speeds/altitudes for fuel efficiency. - Optimum climb profiles. - Expected fuel burn at various altitudes/weights etc. - Recommended minimum fuel. - Expected fuel burn on take off, full burn vs mil power etc. Essentially I'd like to be able to plan full mission from scratch including expected fuel consumption, to make sure I set correct Bingo and Joker fuel levels. Does anything like this exist? Even if it's in French I can work around that. Also, is this something we could expect to see in the DCS Mirage manual when it enters full release? Thanks in advance for any help. BritTorrent
  7. Donated. Starway. If we don't meet the $3000 target, what happens when 2.5 is released? Your texture pack won't work and we'll be stuck having paid for an obsolete product?
  8. Sounds like fun! I've been watching loads of Hawk videos online recently and I'm looking forward to some free time to really get to grips with it. Keep up the good work. Really gives me high hopes for the Typhoon.
  9. That's a pretty glowing endorsement Ells! You guys ought to be proud of yourselves. I like the idea of this pilot turning up to test your product, thinking it's gonna be a load of rubbish and then being blown away by just how accurate it is.
  10. Great news Starway. I feel like the $10 price will feel much more fair to a lot of people and I imagine you'll sell more as a result. Looking forward to it.
  11. ED released an 'update' last night that was actually just a rollback back to the previous patch. Probably so people who have already upgraded can play again. I don't think we'll get an update till Monday.
  12. Hi, I'd like to register a squadron please. Squadron name: Sierra Hotel Active pilots number: 11 Pilots callsigns: Vladinsky, BritTorrent, Gimbal, gos, Level, Phearlock, Vladinsky, Shavik, nolove, Alaiac, Chris_P Preferred Side: Any, wherever is best for you guys. Thanks :)
  13. Just wanted to say a quick thank you to Wags and Steve for this campaign. It's easily the most immersive single player experience I've had in a flight sim, and I'm only 4 missions in. The way the campaign is written, along with the detailed briefings and the real life NTTR terrain really helps you to get your head in the game so to speak. You really feel like you're part of the Red Flag experience. The guided tour of the exercise area helps you to visualise where everything is in relation to you. The sheer amount of stuff up in the air is impressive too. It's an awesome feeling flying up Sally Corridor for a sortie and being able to see the rest of your strike package in the air around you. From my own messing about with the mission editor I know it can be a pain to get the AI to do what you want sometimes, but so far it all appears to be pretty solid. Not much more to say really. If you were at all on the fence about getting this campaign, do it. I guarantee you'll be impressed. There's a few bugs here and there but it looks like Wags and Steve are already on top of them. Keep up the good work guys, looking forward to seeing more from you in future.
  14. Thanks a lot for this guys, really makes the NTTR feel much more immersive. Excellent work.
  15. What a lovely bit of Christmas cheer for the forums :) Merry Christmas!
  16. Hi all, I'm assuming we've all noticed that the Ka-50 seems to have features enabled for sling loads now? It has bindings for the sling and in the mission editor there's an option for 'rope length'. Has anyone tried to get this up and working yet? Is it even fully implemented? Cheers, Brit
  17. Unbelievable...I can't believe how much of a difference this update has made. I was on the verge of buying a new i5 processor because my performance was so bad before, and now I'm getting 50-60fps on the ground! Sometimes 100+ in the air, even with a lot of stuff going on. It's amazing! And I'm not sacrificing any graphical fidelity to get those frames. The game looks bloody beautiful. Started to notice a few bugs creeping through, but of course that's to be expected and I'm doing my best to isolate the causes and report them in the bug tracker. To all the ED team, you've absolutely outdone yourselves. A huge thank you from me! Well done :)
  18. I just want to tell you all, good luck, we're all counting on you.
  19. That's one of my favorite changes! Going to make Mission design so much easier.
  20. I'd like to register as a Lone Wolf please! Callsign: BritTorrent Preferred Aircraft: A-10C (A-10A at a push) Preferred Side: Blue
  21. If I purchase these will I be able to activate them on steam? The current modules I own are all on steam.
  22. Yeah that does help, thanks for your reply. In terms of overclocking...you think the after-market cooler I have on my rig will be sufficient to clock the i5 up to 4/4.4Ghz?
  23. Hi all, I'm on the cusp of upgrading my rig with a better CPU, specifically to increase DCS performance, and I'm torn between the i5 and the i7 mentioned above. I know the i7 is objectively a better processor. But I hear a lot of reports saying that for DCS (and gaming in general) the i5 will work just as well because of the lack of hyper-threading support in DCS and other games. Can anyone actually confirm that this is the case? I don't want to shell out the extra £100 for an i7 to get no noticeable increase in performance. Also, when people refer to the i5 performing just as well as the i7, do they mean that it performs this well out of the box? Or when it's overclocked up to 4.0Ghz like the i7? My current rig Sorry for the wall of text and thanks in advance for any help. I just want to make sure I'm buying the right thing before I splurge £300+ on a new CPU and motherboard!
