  5. I have been flying with the Komodo Sim Uh-1 cyclic and collective for the past 3+ years. I have recently bought the VKB MCG Gun fighter for fixed-wing flying and switch to the Komodo when I fly helicopters. The VKB can be a great stick for helicopters you can take out the centering springs and adjust the clutch to get a similar effect of what the Komodo offers. But the Komodo controls are by far the best controls for precise helicopter control. I like having the strong centering springs in my VKB gunfighter for Fixed-wing flying. The biggest downside for Komodo Simulation is the cost. It is prohibitively expensive for most. Komodo Simulation is catering to a small niche market within the Flight-Sim community. So I would consider it a enthusiast grade investment for the most realistic helicopter experience. Having flown actual helicopters TH-67, UH-60, S- 300, Komodo will give you the best experience for the money without sending way more money for professional grade helicopter flight sim controls that have forcefeed back or Force trim. Yes some of the components are 3D printed and can feel light in the hands. But I’ve had plenty of people fly these controls with zero issues over the years. So my final thought is if you can afford it you can’t go wrong with these controls. And if you have issues reach out to Komodo for assistance.
  6. No problem it's hard to record with a phone and you lose so much detail but here is another clip I recorded.
  7. HTC VIVE DCS World UH-1 in headset video Took a quick video of my HTC VIVE using my iPhone over the right eye piece. Flying over Kobuleti area with 2.0 pixel density. Solid 45 FPS reprojection with my tweaked DCS graphic settings.
  8. Yeah ghosting is a matter of fact in busy online servers. But I'm fortunate enough that it doesn't bother me at all. It's great to get into a knife fight with your buddy online and shift and swivel in your chair to keep them in sight. I've built my missions to have few ground units or only spawn at specific trigger points to reduce any FPS drops. It's always a compromise with this first Gen VR but I can't fly without it now. I flew over 3 hours last night on the Vive without any ill effects. With time and patience you can dial in your rig for a worth while experience.
  9. Using MSI Afterburner software allows you to put various system numbers on screen.
  10. Surprisingly lowering PD or super sampling has little effect on increasing FPS without changing other graphic settings. Being able to increase Pixel density to 2.0 or greater is hands down the best improvement to VR experience in DCS World. What the 1080 or Titan X Pascal will give you is more headroom to increase pixel density and have a sharper/clearer imagine in the headset. The mirror view recordings do no justice of what the experience is in headset. But I think as DCS World is better optimized for VR the experience will get better and better.
  11. I do own DCS 2.0 NTTR and with the same settings I get a steady 45 FPS with Reprojection in the VIve. At 2.0 super sampling I get a silky smooth gaming experience until heavy activity from AI ground or air units and then I may get stutters. I did test today turning Reprojection off and frames ranged between 60-75 FPS but since Reprojection was off it caused constant ghosting and stuttering. So playing at a constant 45 FPS is very enjoyable in DCS 2.0 with Reprojection on. I can only assume that the Rift would be even better experience because ATW works at 30 FPS but I'd have to use an actual Rift to test that theory out. PS tested SA-342M, UH-1, F-15C, and A-10C in DCS 2.0 with all similar results. A-10C is awesome to be able to read ALL HUD, MFD, CDU, TAD,and TGP text.
  12. Titan X Pascal HTC Vive Yeah I'm silly enough to have done it. I bought the Titan X Pascal. I'll be the first to admit it is total OVERKILL for DCS World. BUT, I wanted to be able to play with super sampling at or above 2.0. AND it delivers although with my graphics settings I'm at a steady 45 FPS reprojection. Totally makes every single gauge, MFD, HUD, switch text readable. I had the previous Titan X and was able to get good results at 1.3 to 1.5 depending on aircraft. I'll try to post more videos and updates as I tweak and play with the the new card. Let the POKING FUN COMMENTS COMMENCE! LOL Specs CPU I-7 4790K OC 4.5ghz RAM 32 GB Samsung 850 EVO 1tb GPU TITAN X PASCAL
  13. Updated HTC Vive Video I made another video of me flying the P-51D with the HTC Vive. In this video I synced the DCS replay which is at 1080p full resolution with my head motion video. You can get a better idea of how the Field of View and presence is in the cockpit. RESOLUTION IN THE HEADSET IS NOT THIS GOOD. I just want to show approximately what it feels and looks like while playing in VR. Hope this gives people a better idea what it feels like to fly with the HTC Vive.
  14. Windypants HTC VIVE Video Hey guys quick video of me in the HTC Vive flying the instant action mission against the FW-190. Spent a good couple of hours playing online with my buddy dog fighting against the 109 and 190. I've flown with the HTC Vive now for nearly 2 months. I have officially joined the club of can't go back to 2D monitor flying. The mirror view honestly does no justice to what the VR experience is like. But I can say this, the situational awareness and positional tracking is going to make me a better dog fighter. Yes it has limitations with resolution, Screen door effect, and Field of View but, virtual reality is the way of the future in my opinion. I know a lot of people are on the fence with VR in general but I don't think you can go wrong with either Vive or Rift. I was sold on Vive because of room scale play. Now I have to fight for VR time with my wife and 10 year old son because they love all the room scale games. The technology is in its infancy and I know it will only get better from here. Look forward to the future of VR and DCS World. Oh and DCS UH-60 Blackhawk needs to be a thing LOL:pilotfly:
