  1. Thanks guys, but I remain confused. Even in this short thread, there is different advice.

In the stock F-5 Defend Airbase mission, I get bombarded with 'Dodge 1-1 (me), Wizard, BRA, 308 for 90, at 16000, Hot' type messages.

How am I supposed to know if the 308 is a heading from me or bullseye?

    It's relative to you.

I think you get bulls eye bearing only when you ask for picture, and it's clearly stated in the message. Blue AWACS only.

  2. In real life, A-10's UHF radio (AN/ARC-164) has the ability to simultaneously monitor guard frequency (243 MHz) and whichever frequency you select. Unfortunately this does not work in DCS, so you have to chose one or another.

I haven't flown that campaign yet and don't know which of the two frequencies are better to monitor in this particular case. Hopefuly someone who does know will chime in. :)

And hopefully ED will properly implement guard channel...

  3. Definitely +1, this is my suggestion, the rest of Italy it could be low resolution like Crimea right now, the only needed base in Italy is Aviano (with cis the top left angle), hope it isn't too big.

That's pretty much what I had in mind too, only I'd expand it to the East to encompass entire Serbia.

  4. Absolutely right.

It can be a nuisance especially when you are in a hurry to have to do mathematical calculations just to Convert Coordinates to a usable format for the Gazelle.

Of course, "IF" there was a Calculator in F10 that would be one thing. But there isn't.

And it's simply a pain in a hoop to have to calculate to convert. It's not really conducive to safe flight either (because often times coordinates have to be input "on-the-fly").

Decimal coordinates are already there, just cycle through with LAlt-Y.

  5. Is there an official list of these shortcuts? =)

So many handy ones, but no real system in game to get an overview of them (so very old-school though! - Dwarf-Fortress-esque :D)

    //Jarl

They can be found in controls menu, listed as General. You can export them as html, like this. :D

edit: dropbox link probably doesn't work, this is how it's supposed to look like:

  6.

    Thoughts?

I'd move the map towards NW to include more of Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia, instead of Greece. Aviano base (North East Italy) would be nice to have too, since much of the NATO sorties came from there. That would probably require larger map than the one you proposed.

  7. Its a 2.5 specific problem, probably in combination with the special Viggen kneeboard.

Probably something has changed with those textures since it loaded the images pre 2.5.

Yes, some minor things are still not finished and this is fine as it is indeed Beta. 2018 is the year they want to release it, expect all those issues to be tackled right in this year.

The kneeboard worked fine in 1.5, but never in 2.x, it was always like this.

  8. One thing that comes to my mind is to use "time since flag". Set up your original trigger that displays the message to also set a flag X to 1.

Set your trigger that ends the mission with the condition Time since flag X.

didn't test it but it should work :)
