  1. Lets ensure expectations are managed here, I wouldn't be too optimistic that everything will be fixed with this next patch today, its only been 5 days since 2.5.6. Im just attempting to temper enthusiasm so that excited folks don't get too disappointed if they expect everything to be perfect. Like they say "Hope for the best, prepare for the worst"
  2. @Lenux Does he need to be? its just sensible to read posts in a thread before you start contributing and asking questions.
  3. I think they should leave it just the way it is, at least until they sort the JTAC system out and you can request the code you need.
  4. I’m assuming this is across the board for VR not just limited to Oculus? E.g. similar results seen on Vive, Samsung, etc? ( asking as this is posted in the Oculus thread)
  5. Please can someone from ED acknowledge this thread/problem and assure it has been recognised and included for bug fixing
  6. I am also seeing problems with binding controls after latest OB update + Mig19 install. Im running a Virpil MT50 stick and throttle - both updated to latest firmware. Control inputs (some axes and all buttons) not detected when assigning.
  7. I have used a Rift for a short period but not in DCS. Used to use a Vive 1.0 as my main HMD and moved to Vive Pro about 6 months ago both used a considerable amount with DCS. Vive 1.0 is broadly same as the Rift (apart from weight, fit etc) in terms of specification and performance. For me this comes down to a few factors... Cost vs performance: Vive Pro price is significant, is it worth the extra cash over the Rift?...that depends on how happy you are to split with the cash and how badly you want a marginal improvement in resolution over the Rift. There are problems with the Rift that you wont completely escape in the Vive Pro such as the God Rays from the bloody horrible Fresnel lenses. The Vive Pro still has SDE but it is reduced in comparison. The extra resolution is a great improvement but its not night and day, you get used to it and there is still some way to go. I can read all gauges with a mild PD increase e.g 1.2. and its good enough to do ACM effectively but longer range target spotting is still not easy. Will you be using room scale games? Its generally accepted that the Vive/Vive Pro has the best tracking solution on the market so if you want to have a good room scale experience this should be a factor...for me it was. You'll need a 1080ti or better to capitalise on the higher resolution of the Vive Pro (in DCS), if you don't have the horsepower you wont get the benefits. Given that the PiMax 5K+ has just launched which offers further improvements in resolution and much bigger FOV (for around the same cost) I would be seriously look at that option too. Its not perfect (see the reviews) but could be the sensible choice at this stage. Odyseey+ is also available and might pip the Vive Pro as the resolution/FOV is the same, but its much cheaper. However I'm hearing the comfort level and general build quality is not great and the tracking is not as good either (unless you use the Vive sensors). Hope this helps
  8. I love both. Been flying the F18 almost exclusively since it came out and find it so flexible and capable. Really looking forward to the ATFLIR, FLIR rendering, HARM and Grnd radar updates and it will just keep on getting better and better. That said there is something about the Hog which is so endearing. I think its probably a combination of THE GUN, the amount of ordinance you can carry, the well integrated TPOD and its resilience. Its also a pretty big aircraft and is beautifully modeled (flight dynamics) in DCS so feels as if its very realistic. It's made to do one job and it does it incredibly well. Just a shame its so damn slow!
  9. Excuse my ignorance, what exactly are we supposed to change and by how much? Thanks
  10. I found that i can tank a lot better in Hornet than I can in AV8B for example. Some of this is down to the fact that the probe is on the nose and in sight but the two biggest things that made huge improvements for me were: High end HOTAS (went from X-55 to Virpil T-50 stick and throttle (stick most important but throttle fine control also contributed) Using VR - depth perception a big factor, particularly for that final 20ft before you hook up to the basket, and staying aligned to the tanker once connected
  11. EVGA man myself. Great support and you get a 90 day upgrade option so if you want to trade up to a better card you send yours back and just pay the difference. IMO SC2 and Black edition exactly the same except one is Black! guess which...
  12. Quick fix, imagine you are on a joint US/Canada task force exercise. sorted.
  13. Ive registered on the DCS forums (obviously!) and tried logging in and registering via the DCS MP login but it wont accept my login details. Prior to creating my login on the forums i tried registering via DCS and it told me my email account was already registered. So i tried resetting the password associated with that email account and then it said there is no account in that name! WTF. Please , Can anybody help cos Im really hoping to start flying online. Thanks Update: sorted - needed a CAPITAL letter in password.
