I just finished Apache Dawn, by Damien Lewis. British Apache pilots in Afghanistan. Really good book. And after reading the DCS Apache manual, I was surprised on some of the correct details of systems.

When starting as a pilot in a hot pit - once I ask George to engage with guns on any target, he always misses. In fact I've only ever got George to kill one target with the gun and that was super close range. I found the rounds would overshoot to the left in almost all cases. This is with air start or hot pit start. I find his aim is terrible. I can be hovering still or flying slow or close range. His aim is just crap.

When is a good time to start crying and complaining about the update for the FCR? It's taking way too long. Just kidding.

If I'm playing single player - is there any major disadvantages to just doing everything in the CPG seat? You can fly from there. the only thing I can think of is reduced visibility.

Any day now - there will be, my guess is about 77k Apache pilots flying around, eyeball firing a gun, missing their targets with rockets and saying awesome at around the exact same time. Wonder what the servers will look like - a bunch of Hind, Huey and HIP pilots waiting for Apaches to go to sleep for an open slot.

(Number of galaxies * number of stars) / (number of habitable planets * intelligent life on said planets) = release date of March 18th 2022.

So if we start turning and forget to command him to disengage, he will close the doors? If so that's great. I assumed we messed up the gyros if we didn't.

At least we won't have to command our Apache AI to close any doors before turning. Hate when I forget to do that.

My guess is that early access will release on February 18th, 2022. The reason for my prediction is that ED knows how special I am, and since it's my bday on that day, they decided to make me feel that specialness. Thanks guys!

Same thing here. Same HOTAS. I think you need about 80% thrust just to taxi. It seems like a lags a bit though. It could be because it’s just such an awesome flight and system model. So we are just not used to the real deal. Maybe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Correct. Then you just need to edit the profile to turn off ASW. Sooooo much better and smoother without it.

I had the same issue with it being locked at 45fps. What you need to do is setup a profile or edit the profile automatically created by Oculus Tray Tool, and turn it off in the profile. Not in the global settings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hello, For some reason, I cannot get the TPOD to enable HTS mode. I've tried hitting sensor select switch down (under .8 seconds twice) so many times. It will not work. I have no idea what it is. It seems like I can't select Point Track as well. I've seen youtube video's from RedKite of HTS working fine. It's a no go for me. Any ideas? I'm using TM Warthog HOTAS.

For me it’s my video card. The VRAM usage goes up to 8GB. Then it crashes the driver forcing me to reinstall the driver. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Harrier Controls I’ve been making one myself. However, i still haven’t been able to finish it because the slew hasn’t been working. And it’s missing many features so I’ve put it on hold until a few more updates. When I’m done with it, I can share with you. It’s pretty easy to make your own. Dear ED! No love for KA-50? I’m probably one of many that have been holding off from doing the campaigns, until 2.5 got here. I spent several hours with the Shark for the first time last night, and it was a lot of fun. You can use the trees to hide BUT so can the ground vehicles. It adds a whole new level of gameplay and danger to helo missions. I’m also getting great performance with high settings and flying really low. Never had that before in DCS. It was great. I'm not sure why, but whenever I try to join this server, my video card memory usage goes right up to 8GB and then my driver crashes resulting in me having to re-install the driver. Any idea?

I learned how to use the mouse with my left hand. I have a space for a mouse on either side of the Warthog throttle and stick. So when I need to use the mouse, it’s only a couple inches away from either device, for both hands, if needed. I’ve only had VR for a couple of days, but it has felt great, since I’ve already been using this setup anyways. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
