  1. New video up - take-off and landing on grass:
  2. I'm very sorry to report that it's working fine for me. I flew the entire route of the guns & rockets practice single mission (without bothering with the combat part) and then ejected. As I was floating under the silk, I selected RCtrl-RShift-Tab and respawned in a new Su-25T on the runway, with my HUD in ENR mode and the correct info. Took off past WP1 - which is on the runway - and it correctly switched to WP2 as the wreckage of my old plane fell around me, which was pretty funny. So it's definitely working okay for me. Maybe you need to do a repair of DCS World?
  3. Too many party poopers around here - but then, hasn't that been the case since Black Shark 1? It's not about whether a vote is yes or no - it's the 'reasons' given.
  4. It's well known that some HOTAS controllers work significantly better plugged into powered USB 3 hubs than USB 2 (and unpowered), so this is not necessarily the case. For this reason I have my HOTAS (X56) and pedals plugged into a powered USB 3 hub and my MFDs and home made panels plugged into a USB 2. Both are powered 7 port hubs.
  5. I had this, too. It was simple for me - the Mods\terrains\****\misc\metacache\dcs folders had reappeared after the update (makes sense) - so I simply went through the complete mod installation procedure again and it was sorted.
  6. Okay - I'll have a go tomorrow - I'll eject and let it crash, should get a chance to respawn then, I think. PS - uploaded that track to my Google Drive LINK
  7. I bought two a while back, but the e-shop I bought them from doesn't have them any more. I'll try and find the make and details - it's not a well known make but mine have been great. 7 ports with on/off switches with LEDs and a charging slot that continues working with the PC off. edit: looks like they have been superceded by a new model - but they are Targus make: https://www.targus.com/uk/7port-usb-desktop-hub-ach115eu That is similar to the ones I have, but not the same. Another one I've used for years and is pretty darned good - same spec as other one, is Tendak: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tendak-Transfer-Charging-Separated-Multifunctional-Black/dp/B00VK9PRIU I've seen some negative reviews on this, but I've had zero issues and the one time I asked their support something I got a quick and professional response (and immediate offer of a new one if I wasn't happy). Look at the review ratio to see how impressed the majority are. Here's the US one (which you can order via Amazon global): https://www.amazon.com/Tendak-Charging-Adapter-Individual-Switches/dp/B00VK9PRIU
  8. It's the dev's choice what they have in their aircraft, so not down to ED (or you for that matter).
  9. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how the respawn works - I did try, but nothing happened. I've never used it before (only online to change airframe). Do I have to crash and choose it? As far as the rockets goes - I just flew the guns and rockets practice single mission and had no problems (track attached). Yes, if you fire when the LA first appears, the rockets usually fall short - but iirc this has always been the case. You have to wait a few seconds so that the target is well within the maximum range mark and then launch and you will hit the targets. In the attached track (which wasn't flown tactically, btw - just for testing this) on the second run I fire a pair of rockets at max range and they fall short - I then wait a few more seconds and fire off a salvo and they all land in the target area. One other bug - maybe it's just a limitation due to the scripted actions of targets under fire and this particular target location - is that most of the targets drive into the lake after they are attacked. This is an old mission - I remember flying it years ago, so maybe it simply needs updating in the ME, but as it is one that comes with the sim, I think it's not ideal to expect users to do that. *Can't upload the track file - it's being rejected. It's 10MB and forum max is 5MB. Nuff said. Even archived (7z - not permitted but just to test) it's 9MB, so...
  10. I'd buy an O-2 straight away - zero interest in SAM simulator, though ;) Oh - and you can already man Shilka units in DCS World with Combined Arms. Furia - I agree, but such are the times we live in. Simply answering a question is no longer viable - everyone wants their view known and everyone wants what they want and not what others want :)
  11. Absolutely - I'm convinced this is the reason we see so few user made missions compared to FC 1 days.
  12. I did the dumb weapons tute and didn't have an issue with that particuler thing - but I'll try the respawn and see if I have the same issue. In another thread I reported issues with some weapons - the Kh-29 mission, for example, where the target lock is affected due to the time of day and target contrast and some other problems where weapons are not launching in the tutorial, but are in editor made missions.
  13. ...well, sort of.... Done the P-51D bombing tutorial mission at all? No? - I have... LINK Video is in 3D SBS recorded from Rift - if viewed in 2D then best in windowed mode as it isn't HD.
  14. I think ED would reply that most of the missions mentioned are 3rd party missions and it's up to those 3rd party devs to sort them out - but I do agree on the ED campaigns, but although occasional fixes do appear for existing campaigns once in a blue moon (I hear Maddog IC is working on the ED ones) it's easy to give up hope.
  15. The East Kirkby Aviation Heritage Centre has an airshow coming up on 4th August. https://www.lincsaviation.co.uk/ http://www.greatwardisplayteam.com/ They have regular shows but this time around the WW 1 display team will be there. I actually can't go to this show, butI recommend that anyone able to attend goes along. I've seen the WW1 team displaying at the RAF Waddington air show a couple of years back, and it was really excellent. Dogfights, ground attack displays etc - it's very authentic and very enjoyable. Usually starts with one side coming in for a strike, then getting bounced by the other side and ensuing dogfights are played out. Well worth the £20 entry fee (which they say goes to the Lancaster restoration fund). http://www.greatwardisplayteam.com/the-team-aircraft.html
  16. Use for O-2 in future DCS World, combined with CA and Huey/Hip:
  17. I'm using the one sopebird linked to in post #28 and it's still working fine.
  18. Couldn't care if it's made from cheese - way too expensive for me!
  19. Just wanted to plonk this here, in case people wren't aware of it: https://youtu.be/OBKDgutwN7c As I said in the video, you have to order them from the USA, but Amazon UK does that for customers. Unlike normal orders, there is no guaranteee it will actually arrive - my first one didn't, but the second one did. If you search for it on Amazon you should find it - but the reviews seem to be pretty negative (except mine!) which was one reason I made the video - another being that people were complaining they didn't have fitting instructions included. Highly recommended from my side - especially if you are using them in the cockpit in VR - when I first used Touch in another sim I got a sudden engine failure and instinctively dropped my Touch to grab the controls - and needless to say, cringed as they smashed into my stick and throttle bases. First and last time I used Touch in a cockpit... but these shells would protect hardware in such a situation - and they add a little bulk and grip to them as well.
  20. Okay - just flown the Ka-50 "Courier" mission and the Su-25T Vikhr and LLTV tutorial mission in 1.5.8 The difference is like night and day. Literally, as far as the Su-25T mission is concerned. Both these missions look and fly better in 1.5.8 than in 2.5.2 due to the gamma in the latter. The red/pink mist is there - but it's a very light haze and you have to look for it to notice it. It doesn't detract from the experience at all. In the Courier mission - which starts just before dawn - I was undecided whether the haze was there or not for some time. There was a pinkish tinge to the cockpit - but it didn't seem much different from the standard NVG lights (the ones you set the cockpit to when using NVG - which aren't available in this mission). In the Su-25T might mission it is more noticable - but still doesn't affect it negatively at all. In 2.5.2 it's awful. So there ya go. Unfortunately, I doubt if ED can or will do anything to improve this. One more reason to keep two versions of DCS World on ya pooter. It's especially unfortunate because a lot of the missions in the Dixmude campaign for the Gazelle are night ops. PS - just to say these were all flown with no mods installed.
  21. So what about those people who didn't buy and don't want a Hornet, but would love to have an F-16? This argument about "we already have a 4th gen/same systems etc aircraft" falls flat on its backside. Like someone else said - you might as well say, well we have an attack helicopter (Ka-50) so why are they wasting time with the Mi-24 and AH-1? A bit like also saying of a racing sim "we already have one fast car, why do you want another?" I'm not keen on the Hornet - never been my cup of tea (same with Eurofighter), but I've always liked the F-16, so why shouldn't I have one - especially if, as it's repeatedly claimed - the systems are so similar. Should be a quick dev time, then, because the systems are already there - and the F-16 has also already been worked on, according to teaser posts in the past. Here's another one for you - the majority of DCS customers play on their own (arguing that is silly - they have told us this many times before). How many people does it take to fly an F-16? How many to fly an F-4? Getting AI to control everything that the player doesn't want to in the F-4 is going to be a nightmare, I suspect, and take a while to get right. So should other modules where this isn't an issue be delayed while ED work out how they are going to implement it? And what's more, work out all the many bugs that are bound to raise their heads when this is written and implemented? Maybe that's all been done - but we don't know that, same as we don't know what stage any of these upcoming modules are in. But speculation wins every time, it seems. Like others said - having polls and especially petitions (seriously?) about something like this is just, well, words fail me. I hope you get the info you wanted. Sign of the times, I suppose... :hmm:
  22. As great as I think that looks, with the prices of this company's products (doesn't matter what the reason, it's still the price) I can't afford one. That's a shame, because there are no decent mid-range throttles on the market (by mid-range I mean in the $150 - $200ish price range). Having owned several top branded HOTAS, I still believe my X56 is the best of the lot. This looks like it might be better, but now I will never know...
  23. I think the chances of this happening are very close to zero. Especially when you post on it here on the forum. You'd have a better chance if you pm one of the team and let them know what you have in mind - even then, I wouldn't get your hopes up.
  24. Revanche also isn't an official campaign (I think it was an FC1 or 2 campaign which was dropped, but then updated by Winz to FC3) - but maybe he will have another look - who knows. Would do it myself if I knew what I was doing.
