  1. Having the same problem, hope ED fixes this sooner than later, would assume it's fairly high priority.
  2. Sounds like you're missing a few items. The TF-51D is a free aircraft, you'll still need to buy campaigns and flyable aircraft, here's a list: Campaigns: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/campaigns/p-51d_tbnob/ https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/campaigns/spitfire_the_big_show/ https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/campaigns/p-51d_charnwood_campaign/ https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/campaigns/spitfire_operation_epsom_campaign/ Aircraft: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/dcs_p51d_mustang/ https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/spitfire/ https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/kurfurst/ https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/dora/
  3. Does anyone know if this is planned to be fixed in tomorrow's update?
  4. Looks like a cool get, inexpensive too! This got me on a bit of a goose chase hunting for a comprehensive encyclopedia that covers every type of aircraft flown in WWII. Does something like this exist? Anyone know of a one stop, go to book that covers it all from a technical viewpoint? If you do please let us know. Thanks guys and thanks for the info on the Spit manual ;)
  5. Seems like a quick restart of DCS solves this. At least it did for me, happens on and off randomly.
  6. Haven't had time to check but has the fuel bug in the P-51 been fixed with latest beta update? It's not in the notes.
  7. I'd recommend the Hornet, Baltic Dragon's campaign for the M-2000 is excellent but you'll end up spending twice the campaign length just perfecting your carrier landings in the Hornet alone. Lot to digest with the F/A-18, more than enough to hold you over until a campaign launches.
  8. F/A-18 But after March that will change to the F-14B
  9. I just don't understand what happened, the OG canopy glass looked great, why they replaced it with baked on textures that broke it altogether is beyond me. Hoping they fix it soon as I'm eager to jump into Reflected's Big Show campaign but I'm holding off pulling the trigger on it until this gets sorted.
  10. Anyone figure out how to get rid of the map yet? I swear I did it once by just mashing the buttons but I can't seem to replicate it. EDIT: All good, I just set the left ddi to hsi and set the mpcd to checklist
  11. 1) How is the damage model for WWII aircraft coming along? When do you expect we'll get to see it in game? 2) Will we see WWII aircraft included in your next batch of Flaming Cliffs style (non-clickable cockpit) aircraft?
  12. While I agree with you, I was commenting more with the thought of the less computer savvy among us. Don't forget about the time spent troubleshooting before jumping to the forums and hunting for the correct info here aaaaand then trying to figure out the whole terminal thing. It wasn't a big deal on my end and shouldn't be for many of us but I'm sure there are people out there still trying to figure the whole thing out as we speak. Either way, not the end of the world for most of us. Mine's running fine now and doing an excellent job of waving its arms while jumping up and down, yelling "it's time for a new PC!"
  13. Wow... I know it's alpha and everything but needing to open a terminal window in order to install/update the terrain pack is beyond unacceptable.
  14. Hey Phil, if you do make that vid, maybe include some footage from CloD so people can see the comparisons between the spins you're describing. Looking forward to watching your take on all of it!
  15. That's ok, just hover your mouse over the brake handle and use the scroll wheel to set it at around 15%, it will stay there so you don't need to worry about mapping or holding it down. Not sure if we're allowed to link vids here but this one by PhilStyle explains what I'm talking about, changed my landings in a huge way. Let us know how it works out for you!
  16. I didn't mean to insinuate that clouds and weather are on par with tarmac as far as development goes, I fully understand that it's an entirely different nightmare and super difficult. I only wanted to demonstrate that different game genre's hang their hats on different terrain according to where the player spends the majority of their time.
  17. I 100% understand that clouds and weather are difficult to simulate in a digital environment but I'm still surprised at how not great the weather/clouds are in pretty much every flight sim on the market. Crappy looking tarmac in a racing game or ugly water in a naval sim are no bueno because those genres live in those spaces. Clouds and weather should theoretically be a hallmark of flight sims and something that flight sims specifically do better than any other genre out there, both from an aesthetic and a gameplay/strategic perspective.
  18. Since your tail wheel has been answered; quick tip for landing without dropping a wing is to set your parking brake to about 15% in the air before you touch down, sounds crazy but it totally works.
  19. All of the WWII birds for sure, hopefully it's not long before we get some solid SP campaigns for the map.
  20. I hear you, I guess what I didn't say but should have is that I don't see any fracturing as it's almost unthinkable to me that someone who's invested in the WWII aircraft and map wouldn't also buy the unit pack. I guess what I'm getting at is this sim is built on time and money investment, if someone is unwilling to spend $30 for authentic units, chances are they'd also be unwilling to pay for the aircraft and map as well.
  21. It means exactly what I think it means – don't question the value of a gift.
  22. The trend this board has taken is exhausting. Here's the deal. We're all here because we want a PREMIUM, HIGH FIDELITY product, that's why we don't bat an eye at spending $60 for one airplane. I want the same fidelity out of the entire experience, if that means ED invests more time into each item; ie units, maps, airplanes, etc and wants to recuperate that by selling them individually I will wholeheartedly support that because that's why I'm here. There are plenty of other sims out there that offer a lesser product at a baseline package, flat cost, if that's more important to you then by all means go that route. I'm here for a premium, niche, experience with the understanding that there's a hefty price tag on that, at this point with modules and peripherals I'm in for thousands, as are many of us. The last thing I want is for a small, outspoken, minority of this community to trash ideas like this to the point where we never see a Vietnam unit pack, or a Korean War unit pack, or any other number of interesting future paid-for enhancement packs. Don't forget, it would have been just as easy for ED to say "here's a map with a handful of low quality units, each side gets a truck and a tank. The community can take care of the rest of the units through modding". Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth.
  23. In the Normandy Map discussion board Sith stated that if you qualify for the map as a backer the unit pack is indeed included :)
