  1. I put the carrier in 70 ft of water to move 27 kts is there a lower depth? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Pitch trim is fine Just wobbling when I do last minute corrections with bank only Trying small rudder inputs at last minute next time Is that ok? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Carrier landings are stressful but fun Here’s my problem the carrier is steaming at 27 knots so the landing area is always pulling left My old eyes don’t see the landing area til too late and the DCS LSO yells wave off Is there a trick to minimize the PIO? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Yep it was operator error Like Tholozor said you have to tell the Harpoon you are using Sea Search Mode You have to tell each missile to use it effectively Harpoons are like Pitbull AMRAAMS It doesn't discriminate
  5. Hi, Following Spudknocker's video to launch the Harpoon in Sea Search Mode in the Hornet Why are my Harpoons 180 from where I want to launch. Using Marianas Island Map, Enemy Ships at 180 but Harpoons are going 360 I must be forgetting something Very frustrating
  6. Delivery Control Officer Guy behind the scenes that prints the flight plans for the pilots and greases all the airfield skids The pilots all they need to do is fire up their jet, air refuel and follow the flight plan to their destination Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk And country diplomatic clearances All AAR Tracks Destination stuff Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. As a USAF heavy guy I always liked the Hornet. To me it looked cool. The DCS version has guided weapons galore and landing on a boat is fun. I was fortunate that I was a DCO in 2008 to move the real VFMA-314 black knights in legacy Hornets Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I was reading Jane’s Flying the FA-18 and tells of a pilot using ATC to help trap Is that true? I know in the future starting with the Super Hornet there will be Autopilot Carrier Landing called Magic Carpet by the Navy I know DCS is a game can the real Hornet has Approach ATC? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Weird I used Liwa AB spot 1 (Persian Gulf Map) Worked as advertised Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. INS Alignment gives me 8.0-10 I switch to NAV and CCRP is fine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. It’s weird cause my 2.7.4 version the alignment is good at 8.0 andCCRP works Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Landing like carrier landings you have to be at 11 AOA or on speed and flare and aerobrake Be precise or your F-16 will flip on you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I’ve seen CG and CM what does it mean exactly Confusing for a tanker guy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I’ll let a Viper guy explain it but Block50 is the iteration of the F-16 For Example the UAE has Block 60 and the newest version is a Block 70 Also there are two engine manufacturers Pratt and GE that is why you see a 2 For example Block 50 and Block 52 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Each F-16 is different Just because the outside looks like an F-16C what’s inside them is completely different Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. 9000 feet runway or better to start could land in less than 8000 ft Good Examples Senaki-Kolkhi, Ramat David, and Khasab, Rota Airport and Tinian Airport Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. All I know is don’t slam on the wheel brakes unless you like swerving the DCS viper Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Some good gouge from an F-16 Instructor Try to fly at 11 AOA Aerobrake works Be Gentle on the brakes And don’t forget to fully extend the speedbrakes on rollout Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I agree with Neilius anything above 3K on fuel it’s not a pleasant experience Aerobrake is key and AOA is key. I fly an approach at 11AOA and then Flare Be gentle with the brakes. ABS not implemented yet on rollout Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I figured it out thanks for the advice and how the DCS Hornet works and the real Hornet works for me I set the deadzone too high and my small inputs in roll and pitch were ignored by my computer so I was surprised when the computer registered a larger input Second practice, practice, practice Third you have to be more precise than the USAF way The USAF way is land between the two white lines 1000 to 3000 down for the KC-10 I really admire the brave Hornet dudes and dudettes that arrive safely in Case III at night, bad weather and the boat swaying It would scare me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I’m used to very small inputs around the deadzone which was throwing me off I decreased the deadzone so the computer could register my inputs It works for the DCS Hornet but too sensitive for the DCS T-45 Hornet Drivers we’re talking about a page you can see the trim is set to But 11 NU is a good trim place to start and I was fighting the FBW Thank You for the tips Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I know you need a deadzone of 1 for the autopilot to work I might reduce my deadzone in roll and pitch less than 4 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I pio cause I maybe have a deadzone issue Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I think I’m doing too much at the same time getting down, slowing down, getting dirty too fast Try to be a more methodical so the LSO in super carrier doesn’t yell at me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. That’s what I noticed too the DCS Hornet likes to go fast more stable If the tips don’t help with full flaps going to try half flaps Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. For all you valued viewers it’s a deadzone of 4 and a curvature of 15 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Remind me of real life AR with the throttles Put the power where you need it to be and wait a potato Don’t add more throttles unless you want to be under the tanker Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I got some negative training going on Fix up and down first before tackling left and right Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Cool I’ll try that In heavies like the KC-10 you leave throttle alone once set and trim for hands free Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I think I’m fighting the FBW Need to settle down and not fight it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Thanks I’ll try the tips tonight Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
