  1. Same for me... But should it work for landing now?
  2. If you refer to the mission where you're armed with 2 laser maverics and 2 infrared ones, I've tried it on yesterday evening. I also got no response from jtac. Looking at the debriefing I saw that jtac was killed by red coalition shortly after the beginning of the mission. Also I couldn't lock targets with infrared mavs, but probably that was some sort of error of mine :music_whistling:
  3. Awesome job, mate! Managing dynamic weather is quite a challenge. Thanks a lot
  4. Hi Rudel, great red templates you shared in this thread: thanks a lot! Is there some place where it could be possible to dowload also some blue side AB templates? It should be wonderful!
  5. Apart from the fact that many suggestions of yours could be usefull, this is not a problem related to the Hornet, but to DCS itself... ... and personally I would change those "I want..." with more polite "I would like..." :)
  6. AI First, its capacity in performing orders and work in team Second, reduce its god-like combat awareness Third, reduce its advantage due to the SFM ATC Dynamic weather and clouds
  7. Well, I've downloaded and installed it (tried both normal installation and OvGME), but it keeps telling me the same error of Bolek. Any clue? EDIT: Nevermind. I've managed it by myself (I was trying to install it in the main DCS folder...)
  8. Beautiful!! Just a bit more weathered and they would be perfect!
  9. Got it! I'll check this evening. Thanks guys!
  10. Well, I use an X-55 and before yesterday I was able to directly bind TDC to the ministick on the throttle (the mouse-like one) in the axis assign page, without using the Saitek software. From yesterday update the TDC line in the axis assign page is not selectable anymore. Strange...
  11. I've noticed that also the possibility to bind TDC to an axis is gone. Bug or intended?
  12. Thank you very much. It was exactly what I was looking for!
  13. Thanks SUNTSAG for these guides: they're really useful. Can you pls explain how to change the icons with the ones you're using? (in order to see the direction of the objects through the icons). Thanks in advance
  14. I know you're right, but simply I cannot keep under control altitude, lateral shift and throttle in the same time yet. If I concentrate myself in keeping the correct attitude (expecially on the vertical line) I loose control on the throttle very often and disconnect from the basket. I have the same difficulties if I try to train in close formation with another aircraft (the worst moment is when it starts turning: I loose the distance ever time). Therefore I'm trying to become proficient in throttle control: when I'm able to control it as a second nature, I'll stop using AP and concentrate on stick movements. I don't know if it'll work, but please feel free to give me any hint you think it's useful. (and btw, I don't fly online, simply because I have to pause the simulator very often due to family/childrens).
  15. Wellcome to DCS World. I also fly XP11 - great simulator - but the feelings and feedback given by DCS planes are really different... in some aspects more real. (or at least this is my opinion). I have both Mirage and Hornet, and even if in Early Access I prefer the Hornet. I don't feel right in the French cockpit of the M2000 (it's not a matter of language, it'a about the layout) and I don't like very much the INS system. That said, the Mirage is fascinating and a joy to watch. The Hornet is a great plane and, as Headbreaker said, you'll have plenty of time to learn all the systems as they'll be released. The FA-18 is very forgiving in landing (on airfields, not on carriers) because it has a very sturdy landing gear that allows very heavy landings (more or less like XP11 where landing gear damage is not modelled and you can drop the plane like a brick without any problem. Try it with a Mirage or with a mustang and you'll be dead!!:D) As you like flying a civ. simulator, I suggest you to try the free TF-51 (the weaponless Mustang) because it has a really gorgeous flight model and take also into account for the future the Albatros. Happy flying!
  16. I don't map it; istead I use the mouse to push the buttons in the cockpit. It's more difficult, but in this way I feel less guilty to cheat with the A/P :music_whistling::D I also added a curve to my stick, but I think it depends a lot on the HOTAS you have. Maybe with a Warthog or with extensions it's not needed. Be careful to remove all deadzones, because if your Stick it's not perfect, with 0 input in the center position, the A/P won't engage.
  17. Are you sure? If I remember correctly, it's also cited in Chuck's guides.
  18. Gorgeous!! Any download link?
  19. It could absolutely be turbolence generate by the tanker engines. And it was my first issue that couldn't let me refuel in the A-10C. I tried a lot with the Hornet and finally succeeded, only in straight flight and not yet during turning... but I'm working on it. My techinque is the following: - let's say the tanker flies at 260 knots, I approach it at higher speed untill I'm about 1.5 - 2 NM from it. Then I slow down (even with airbreaks if necessary) and stabilize at its speed. I approach him with a speed about 5 miles higher than its (no more otherwise you overshoot it) untill I'm very near the basket. At this point I don't care too much about horizontal alignement, but only about vertical one: when I think I'm at the right height to catch the basket I quickly hit the A/P BALT. After it's very easy because you have to manage only the lateral shift and the speed. Don't hit the basket at a speed 1 - 2 knots higher than the tanker otherwise you can't slow down before it disconnects. Either I didn't find useful to engage ATC, because you will never be able to match the exact speed of the tanker. In this way I can manage a complete refuelling in 2/3 connections. I know maybe it's not the more elegant way to do it, but I was so frustrated with my fruitless attempts with the Hog that I'm very happy now. There is always time to work on style :D
  20. For example at min 1:02 and 4:48 of the video. A big "W" flashing in the middle of the HUD Strange... I'm sure I pressed it (it was boxed) but it didn't appear on the HUD. I'll try again this evening, thanks.
  21. Very interesting video: thanks for sharing it! Just a couple of noobish questions: - what's that "W" mark flashing in the HUD during the final turn? - How can you put the TCN distance on the HUD? Even if I correctly set the Tacan, it never appears on my HUD. Thanks
  22. Ok, I'll check this evening with the FCS page
  23. Well, if the AC auto-trims itself during flight, I don't understand why in chapter 9.2.2.1 of the NATOPS Flight Manual (page III-9-7 or page 371 of the pdf) it is stated: "Once cleared to commence an approach, refueling checklists completed, assume a position 10 to 15 feet in trail of the drogue with the refueling probe in line in both the horizontal and vertical reference planes. Trim the aircraft in this stabilized approach position and ensure that the tanker’s (amber) ready light is on before attempting an approach." How can I trim it if it doesn't respond to the trim hat?
  24. So the modulation is automatically set according to the frequency? And what is it "menu"?
