Found it, its the AC generator. Its constant tone even tears through the other cockpit noises and engine noises.

how about thinking through your suggestion? I dont want to lose all of the different cockpit sounds, of which most are great, just to get rid of the beeping

No its not that, besides that can be decreased in volume. The thing I describe is a contant tone, medium high pitched, must be some battery or generator item. It gets very annoying and is only masked during very high speed flight from the engine noise.

So when I add a fuel tank on the runway by ground crew I have to dial up the capacity manually? Also are the tanks then connected or is there anything needed to connect them to the engine?

Anyone else hear that medium pitched constant beep sound coming from the left side of the cockpit during flight? It begines during start up and is somewhat masked by the engine sound, but it gets very annoying after flying for a while. Can it be toned down a bit? Not sure if it is realistic that way. I think its some battery thing. I might have oversensitive hearing or paying too much attention but it really is hard to not focus on it. The way it is now, marking yourself negates the need for any navigation equipment. So this should really be a difficulty option.

Afterburner questions 1. If I leave the afterburner switch on ON but fly with less throttle, does the afterburner still have any effect on the plane? Or should it always be turned off even if no full 100% thrust is used? 2. What are the "reheat" settings? 3. How to restart the engine when it shuts off from 0G?

I recently switched from a steam install to non steam. And the load times basically exploded. On steam the load time into the main menu after the first start is max 10 seconds. However on non-steam it is up to a minute. Could this be the copy protection getting in the way or checking files? Because it really sucks having the load time increase 4-6x after going on the supposedly less cumbersome non steam installation.

Some radar questions 1. what is the shape of the radar search area (cone?) 2. Is the radar 2 dimensional space proportional? For example if an object shows at x = 75% and y = 50% (assuming 0|0 is bottom left), is it then actually 75% away from the left edge of the radar area? 3. Once a target is locked, is the picture still a top down view or is it a chase cam view from the player's mig to the target plane (y axis being vertical)?

By 0G you mean avoiding zero G forces? Would that happen on the tip of flying a parable? Where can I find single player replays? I did not save it manually.

How to not blow my engine in midflight? So far I had my engine shut off in 3 flights after being on full thrust and afterburner for about 2 minutes. I did not pull any intense G maneuvers. On another flight I was able to avoid this. Is there something important on cold start one can mess up to cause these shutdowns? Because the flights where I started in the air, I never got an engine shut. Also how to restart the engine in flight if that happens? The engine shutdown shows the 2 compressor needles being at 20 on the gauge, not moving or reacting to thrust changes.

I cant get the flood light to work. I have the engine running, all necessary electronics too as far as I can tell. All other light systems work.

The manual does not mention needing the ground crew to connect power supply in the startup. The engine will never start without.

I was using the procedure, but gears got damaged probably because of a bouncy take off. Training missions are not a good idea, because fps suck so bad. In the first training mission my fps drops to 15 in the cockpit just because there is an mi24 taking off near. I get 35-50 on an empty map.

Remove the red crosshair that shows the viewcenter for the player. It even shows if I am not in mouse click mode. Or is there a key combo for it?

How to retract the gears? I unlocked it with the smaller lever then pulled the lever stick to the up position, wont retract.

How to update DCS (non steam)? I recently switched. I loaded the updater, but it loads me into the game quickly without any messages and the module manager says the MIG is available for download, but when I try that it says UNKNOWN MODULE MIG21.

Well that is bad luck, or opportunity cost. Mind you all of this arguing about HELP I PAID TOO MUCH 1 DAY BEFORE SALE would not even happen if ED would not provide any sales at all. It is not a god given right for the consumer to be aware of when a sale is exactly happening.
