  1. Thought my answer covered that, but maybe it wasn't clear enough or my terminology misleading :P Great that you got it working in any case ;)
  2. Just to clarify: Do you want to go back to the TPOD view or the nose-mounted TV camera view? The nose mounted camera needs 2x SSS-AFT as you said, but the TPOD view gets the TDC back as soon as you've fired (or the IMRV lost track, for example when you overfly the target; in other words when the left display goes back to Stores) I just did this, and it worked: * enable TPOD on right display, disable STDBY there * slew and uncage * SSS-FWD (TDC now in left display and IRMV mode) * lock * rifle * TDC returns back to right display in TPOD mode * slew, zoom, lock as required again etc etc And for nose-mounted TV (doesn't need TPOD on aircraft) * twice SSS-AFT (TDC on left display, TV mode) * slew and uncage * SSS-FWD (TDC now left, IRMV mode) * lock * rifle * 2x SSS-AFT to get back to TV mode on right display * rinse and repeat This is in the latest release version. I don't have Open Beta installed. Apologies if the terminology isn't accurate, still learning. ;)
  3. Yeah that was nonsense, apologies  While it works, it's of course wrong procedure to release the parking brake early. Don't know how or when or why I acquired that bad habit :music_whistling:
  4. You need to release the parking brake first. It's difficult to see, but it's to the left of the throttle. Best to assign a key (default P??) and look into that direction when you flick it. Then you see where it actually is. Page 16 of Chuck's manual shows it, too. Without the parking brake released, you cannot flick the other switch (throttle cutoff) and therefore the throttle can't go into idle and the engine won't start. You can ignore the APU. You don't usually need it in this plane.
  5. I want to add my support and appreciation here too. Chuck, your guides are priceless! They are perfect to get started and perfect as refreshers. Since I am an on-and-off armchair pilot, who can't spend time on DCS consistently, your guides are brilliant for me. Likewise, I can't hang out in forums regularly. Sometimes I can, other times I can't. So I haven't really followed what kind of grief you had to endure. I just sincerely hope that you won't let it get to you too much and will find the time and inclination to carry on! Thanks again!
  6. I noticed that the track replay works great for some aircraft, but not for others. The Viggen and Mig21 are the worst for me. Viggen rarely makes it to the runway after cold start replay, but instead runs into hangars, gets stuck in the crops or god knows where. It's not even close to the correct path. Mirage, Huey, Mi-8, Ka-50 no issues whatsoever. This is true for 1.5.6, 2.0.5 and now 2.1.0 equally. YMMV Given that track replay issues have been ongoing for many years, is there any realistic hope that it will eventually be fixed? I find tracks really useful to review own mistakes and learn from them.
  7. I hope so too! Let's hope he's alright and will continue creating and maintaining his brilliant guides.
  8. I have bundled my "Chuck's library" and made it available. Link over here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3146444&postcount=263 I'll probably be collecting Chuck's guides which others have made available this weekend, because it would be such a shame if his fantastic and valuable guides somehow disappeared.
  9. Here's another bunch of Chuck's guides for download. I'll leave them there for a while. Download URL: https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/lucifah/chucks-guides.zip (207 MB)
  12. Another +1 Also, please leave the world alone. The cockpit can shake, but not the horizon. My eyes aren't mounted to the airframe. Thank you!
  13. I think the T-Flight is not really an upgrade. I used to have one, but there are worlds between that and the X52 Pro (which I have now). As for rudder, personally I'm not willing to spend hundreds of coins on them. And the cheap ones I have tried turned out to be super uncomfortable to use. I play both planes and helicopters (including Huey and Gazelle) with the rudder mapped to the thumb wheel on the X52's throttle. With some curve tuning and practice (to get your brains used to that odd setup) it works rather well. Sure, it would never be as accurate as proper peddals, but if they aren't comfortable to use, there's really hardly any difference in accuracy. Surely that works well enough if you are a) on a budget or b) not intending to compete in multiplayer for the best part of the day, every day. :smilewink: I'd say go for X52 (Pro) if budget permits. Worry about other peripherals later. EDIT to add: the thumb wheel is more accurate for the rudder than the twist stick, because it stays where you put it and doesn't need you to force it in place all the time.
  14. It always seemed to take Oculus quite long to get to market, but I didn't realise it was THAT long! :music_whistling:
  15. Definitely, if the price is reasonable. (For me personally that would be around $20, give or take a few, just to give an idea; that may vary wildly for others, so do some solid research on that first. For most people there's a kind of magic barrier, below which it's a no-brainer for them, and above which they don't buy unless there's an offer later down the line. You can get an idea about that in Starway's Texture DLC discussion thread.) You really have to make the maths first, otherwise you waste a lot of time and money in the end. Maybe check with Letherneck how many times the MiG-21bis has sold, to gauge how big your market is? (Don't know how likely they are to share that info with you and what kind of hoops you'd have to jump through.) Obviously only a fraction of them would buy, but it might give an idea if the numbers can work out at all. Good luck! And if it's around 20 bucks, you've got your first customer already! ;)
  16. It does tell you about the expiry: "Bonus will expiry 07-05-2017" it says on my shop profile (yep, including that spelling error). So that's about a year then. Most bonus programs and vouchers expire eventually, but I agree that it's annoying.
  17. Hi! :) Get the Mi-8 too, while it's on offer this weekend! Comparable sense of flying but more complexity in terms of navigation, systems etc, to keep you busy for a long time. And watch that VRS on approach... the Mi-8 likes to fall down with very short notice :) EDIT: This wasn't meant to promote the Mi-8 or say that it's the better chopper at all, they both are insanely enjoyable :)
  18. Flies indeed quite differently in 1.5.3 than in 2.x. Better. Now the enemy is finally becoming the biggest threat to the chopper, not the pilot, as was previously the case with me at the stick. :music_whistling: Can't quite put my finger on what it is, but I think the rudder has been tamed a bit? (It can't be down to just the difference in altitude on both maps. Something else has definitely changed.)
  19. Keine Ursache! Prima, dass nun alles wie erwartet funktioniert.
  21. So bottom line: - way too narrow - no wall spacer - very light (1.5kg) So they'll be uncomfortable and slipping all over the place. I'll pass.
