You can choose between steamVR and openXR by forcing it in a shortcut. 1. Create a shortcut of DCS.exe 2. Right click the shortcut and select properties 3. In the target field add: --force_OpenXR or: --force_steam_VR example: "D:\DCS World\bin\DCS.exe" --force_OpenXR Something else. If your VRsession freezes and you use openXR toolkit. It probably is because you enabled "turbo mode". Then reset openXR toolkit. 1. Open openXR toolkit and select "enable safe mode" Then start DCS 2. In DCS you can enter the openXR toolkit menu and in the last header-option select reset settings to default and confirm. DCS-OPenXR and "turbo mode" seems to be an issue. Hi, I reinstalled DCS 2.5.xx and airplanes (after a few years absence) and noticed in the editor that there are two default L39-za skins: desert splinter camo and woodland splinter camo. Does everyone have those custom skins or is that because I used to have them in the past? .

Please dont wait with anything if your father is 90. Immediately buy the plane. It works great is easy to fly and has a nice cockpit layout. You both love it. And the P51 is also a fantastic aircraft to fly around with and as the Albatros gives a good free look because of the bubble canopies. By the way, torque is easy to counter with trim. I doubt this functionality happens in any form. One skin in .zip is easy 15mb for DCS. I fly multiplayer with prefered custom paint themes and just overwrite the files of a default existing skin or i use the "mklink windows command" to redirect to my prefered skin. (This works local, not as you suggested) I would be happy if "$WRITE_DIR" in autoexec.cfg would work for custom skins as it does with custom sounds. And maybe it is possible but then only c0ff knows. (I still have to ask...) But I like your idea and enjoyed MP freeflight skin show-offs in IL2. :)

With regards to the titel: Mission design under valued by ED? I understand the importance of the 2.5 release and not doing all kind of script engine alterations while in this process. I like the open structure of the script engine and I think .lua is not that difficult if you have any knowlege of programming language principles. So it's doable and rewarding to make missions for DCS. But all kind of minor and bigger script functions broke since 2015? Many got repaired, although it was never 100% clear when or if they where repaired (even if you think I exaggerate, you understand what I mean) That made me loose motivation to make anything with .lua. Furthermore I noticed something I don't particularly like in the file structure of new map(s). The static objects or vehicles are not usable anymore. So no more freedom in making stories as envisioned with those nice new items in NTTR. But as I understand 2.5 will tell if ED likes there misssion designer community. Then new objects will be usable and script functions can be used as if it where 2014. :)

155 6053 215 is correct. Now your problem gets a bit a-specific. although there is a log file for dcs in ../users/[user]/savegames/dcs/logs/dcs.log wich you can open with a text editor to see if you have recognizable odities. And there is. The worst case scenario wich is reinstall fresh. :huh:

[edited] If you create a shortcut to your desktop of dcs_updater.exe then right click it go to properties and add the word: repair Then target would look something like: ..\DCS beta\bin\DCS_updater.exe" repair apply and double click the shortcut. then update will do a repair oops te word in target should be: repair..... :santa:

@Exigeous Your gear and knowledge seems well, allthough I don't see the advantages of raid in reallife apps. Don't get disconcerted, it's part of tweaking and resolving issues is fun, sometimes the issue hides well. It seems your system is polling for something or retards for a reason. Here some methaphisical tweaks because I don't have hard solutions and you already tried many: -Disable all background apps (to debug) -Do use flat shadows in gfx options. -Maximum prerendered frames set to 1 in 3dsettings in NVidia control settings (not waiting for the frame buffer to fill more frames) -Set adaptive verticalSync in 3dsettings in NVidia control settings and Vsync on in game. (to let it work formally correct) -Disable NVidia experience center if you not need it. -over_Overclocking can give hickups destroying the advantage of an overclock. -Force DCS using the last two cpu cores with autoexec.cfg. (they are often idle and Windows will have the rest and it will not hurt) Set with "affinity_mask = 84" (I believe you have 4 cores and 4 threads) location: C:\Users\[userName]\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\autoexec.cfg example file attached: Never :surrender: autoexec.cfg
