  1. Yeah its almost like torture owning one :P:D 99% of us TMWH owners dont have "these issues" you talk about.
  2. Yes, the ones released for LGA1155 use dual channel memory, but his sig is still correct, you are probably thinking that DD3 means 3 channel. :) Edit: Was unclear what I meant :)
  3. My sandy bridge order arrived :D Probably not gonna build tonight though.
  4. Not even that, if you have the P67 chipset. My guess is most users like us will be getting the P67 (unless you wait for the Z67) instead of the H67.
  5. Or resolution! And if you look at any sandy bridge review that also has separate benchmarks for running without a graphics card you will see that it isnt enough, they run older games at low resolutions and low graphics settings and get decent fps, but nobody runs at those resolutions anymore, and specially not low res AND low quality combined. Its improvement over previous chips, but there is still a long way to go. Im not about to go bring out my old 14" crt for this LOL
  6. Sure, but im not gonna play DCS:A10 at 800*600 on my 27" monitor ;)
  7. Forget about the on chip video, you will still need a separate video card. The 50% improvement is over previous on chip video, let me put it this way, going from 2 fps to 3 fps is also a 50% increase in performance ;) The chip is good enough to play WOW on 1024*768 at lower quality setting at 50 fps.
  8. A horrible thing to watch :( Atleast they died fast.. This is just a good thing IMO
  9. Thanks, I have already seen it again (sort of) and it sucks, no need to see it. I remembered it as being good, but it was not. I say "sort of " seen it since I stopped watching half way through.
  10. The pilots face looks fake, so maybe thats a clue, perhaps photoshoped bombs? The center rack might be added afterwards ;) Its definately looking strange, pointing to the side too much. Or perhaps it just looks that way because its pointing up more?
  11. Only that not everyone in the world is on a i7 or i5 system ;) Some of us need an upgrade really badly, and this is perfect for us. I ordered a 2500K and a MSi motherboard and a cpu cooler yesterday, and since my current system has old DDR2 memories I had to order new RAM aswell, and the ones I wanted (I took cheaper 1333 Mhz ones) were not in stock :( So I dont know when my order will arrive. One good thing if you are going to upgrade and have an 1156 system is that you dont need to buy new memory or cpu heatsink, just the motherboard and CPU, so this might make some people upgrade even though they really dont need to. (Edited bad english, hopefully..)
  12. He said he didnt want to come out and play :) And the show must go on. (Neverending contest)

    Fish Fight

Watch "The Cove", a documentary, if you havent seen it already. Its not about fish, but you should see it.
  14. But what did you have before? You upgraded from what? Thx
  15. Thanks, the link did it, I think I found it: Flight Of The Black Angel http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101897/ (sidenote, your link had this funny description of another movie: Wild in the Sky 1972 USAF- Keeyan Wynn; Three escaped convicts hijack a B-52! )
  16. Sorry for using this thread for this, but its not completely off topic. I need the name of a movie I havent seen for many years. Tried google and IMDB but since I dont remember any of the actors in it I couldnt find it. Its a movie about a US aggressor pilot flying a kfir plane (F-21?) and goes crazy and takes the plane on a crazy suicide (carrying a nuke if I remember correctly) mission. Does anyone know the name of this movie? I would love to see it again, but cant without a name LOL. Thanks!
  17. I cant add anything intelligent to the discussion, but I just want to say a DC is very important to me and is a very big part in my wishes for the future of combat flight sims. Yes perhaps the Falcon 4 DC wasnt very good in reality, but the feeling I got from flying F4 DC missions, even if I failed almost every single one, nothing has ever come close to that feeling, yes the graphics sucked, and the DC was broken, and I got killed every time, and the game crahed all the time. Didnt matter to me, just the feeling it gave me to think that I was part of something bigger, and that the targets I failed to destroy would be there next mission was good enough and nothing has come close to that. I would much rather be a part of something like that, and fail every damn mission, and be totally overrun by enemy forces, than do a mission, fail a couple of times until I learn the trick, or twist to finishing it, and then finish it on the third try. Even if it all was just an illusion, it sure worked on me. I understand that its very very hard to do something good and dynamic for DCS, I get the problems, and I understand that it maybe wont happen, I understand why, I wont complain about it because I know how hard it is, I will still support ED even if they say DC is impossible for us, but I will never stop dreaming about a good DC that can give me that feeling again :) Just a laymans view, I cant participate in the discussion on your level guys :) Great discussion, very interesting to follow :)
  18. Yeah, I wouldnt upgrade if I had an i5 or i7. (which I dont have :) )
  19. Here are some clues :) Its not something exotic, not some odd prototype or something like that. It was flying in service in two countries for over two decades. Over 800 planes were built. GL
  20. This was interesting, taken from Anands review: "Both my Core i5-2500K and Core i7-2600K hit ~4.4GHz, fully stable, using the stock low-profile cooler." With a good cooler they reach 4.7-4.9.
  21. Another review, Anandtech: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4083/the-sandy-bridge-review-intel-core-i5-2600k-i5-2500k-and-core-i3-2100-tested
  22. Sounds good to me, but you will still get low fps when using the cannon, DCS is not fully optimized yet.
