The latest beta version of Virpil's Software provides 128 buttons and a lot of bug fixes: https://forum.virpil.com/index.php?/topic/558-vpc-configuration-tool-test-releases/ Virpils's support was on more time spot on from both time response perspective as well as how it solves my issue. Good job guys!

High end PSU gone in spectacular fashion
Abburo replied to gabgio's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Might be the overall power of your PSU been exceed after some GPU upgrades? What is your PSU power and how much is consumed by your components? -
US is special anyway when talking about internet speed :)) ... but he just mentioned Eastern Europe :D
-
Haha ... Eastern Europe have better and much cheaper connectivity than Western Europe (general rule). For Romania for example 1GB domestic bandwidth is very common and affordable (~10 euro/month)

In the comments of Dora template you can find a link for an online tool which allows you convert the Intel DDS7 format (as everything is now in DCS) into DDS5 supported by Gimp. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.c...files/3303796/ Also, please upload your template on DCS user repository when ready. @NineLine: thank you for your support!!

Very strange, as Anton have one of the best sounds if not the best sounds at the moment. Idle sounds along with flyby are very close to real thing. I am wondering which set of sounds are not ok in your perspective. Could also be something regarding your audio system/headset ? (lack of low frequencies or something like that) Is not same case for Dora and BF109 .... but Anton really nailed it.

I know this kind of requests are very unpopular with ED... meaning we never received an answer in here. Still, would be possible to have the Anton template available ? And when? Pretty please.... If not, let us know at least. For those who might be interested, Dora has no official template either, however I did a scratched built (still room for improvements) here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3303796/

I can see and also understand a bit of rush on having this aircraft in pre-sales. However ED, please ensure same level of quality as F-18. Do not make any compromise !!!

Eagle Dynamics: Request a rethink on spotting mechanics.
Abburo replied to Waxer's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I do subscribe to this complain as well. Spotting needs to be worked more. I don't understand either what's not technically compliant to ensure this. The spotting dots that ED tried are only a kind of workaround. However, this issue lead me learn new tactics, applicable only for dogfights which helps me predict better the foe trajectory. Even so it happens to loose the track... but that happens in reality too... right? -
Not aware about CH Manager, however you have a better (maybe) alternative through the powerfull freeware app RS Mapper: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=205492&fbclid=IwAR3olgUKqJt7XcOf6LXRWnTXeYk8Qf3phhstsBW9MHZ0hEcwrx0IctYle-U

This little utility is here from some time but I have missed it till recently. So that I just want to thank to Avantar for his great work! This is a kind of software that cannot be missed by simmers.

+!

A template available to all of us will be even better. Is that possible @OctopusG?

I flew it a bit. Seems for me that is not needed any trim as looks it flies pretty straight out of the box. Its turn rate is also fantastic good... and very hard to stall it. All these makes me wonder how accurate is the FM.. I am not saying it is not true how is modeled, I just don't know how close to reality it is. The systems however are modeled very nice.... and the landing gear ... well it requires to read the manual to operate them :)

This server is absolutely great. Everyone can join at its own pace, no constraints or anything like that. Very animated server, even is more AI for now, but it gives a real feeling to be part of that time. I would highly recommend this server to anyone.

Yes... maybe on the way... will see... Untill then however, Christen Eagle is a nice toy ;). Yak52 as well...

@Wags: could you please let us know what is your perception for black levels with Rift S? There are a lot of comments on the internet complaining about the LCD implementation which lacks in black levels compared with OLED display. However while this might be true, I am still wondering if this is really visible within DCS environment. Thank you

While MAC could be a good opportunity to increase DCS World users mass directly, it can also add a new level of exploits by having easier to manage planes. How wil youl be able when you see a Mig21 for example, to diferentiate if it is the full module or the easy one? this could add an extra level of complexity which I don't think will be well received by older DCS fans. On the other hand some tips could be left on their modules withh messages like... for full features go to DC World" :). This will also need to have an affordable price to counter the quite high number of arcade games which are at 1999 level of play but with some better graphics. Again, in this context MAC might be able to cannibalize DCS World by adding a large number of planes at a lower price, so that no one will be interested anymore in full flavour modules. These are some aspects that I think ED also assessed and even they've been rushed last year to announce it, they understood the cons of integration with DCS and they had act accordingly.
-
This is my understanding also. MAC3 is a standalone game addressed to those new comers who are overwhelmed by DCS complexity. It will not be integrated in the DCS World, and I think this is a fair approach.

As I got the throttle unit recently, I went into a similar kind of issue on my side with one 4 way hat. It was lacking the feedback of click on several positions. I found out that solving this is very simple. The root cause is that there is not enough room for button rod to move completely free. The button can be easily extracted from the hat rod ... then using a bit of sand paper i just round a bit the edges. Just so simple.

This platform might be good for main stream / low resource requirement games. Also, even internet speed is now increased indeed, it is not yet uniform and this will be another question mark. This might be ok, but same as VR.... need another 15-20 years to be cooked. It was said that Desktop will disappear, but now 15 years later, desktop still stands strong... and nobobody discuss about this extinction. STEAM have failed already on a similar concept... but Google might be smarter and start with PAcMan.. More than that, from commercial point of view, how happy companies like Intel/AMD/Nvidia would be... I think not too much, hence not much support. New tech to replace them? Maybe... but will that worth the developing cost? These are crazy times about automation, cloud etc... (sort of back to '70s Mainframes) ... digitizing everything... even maybe our holly bread... they are ready to say and propose anything during this race where the winner is too far way from finish line, if any finish exists. I think that personal computing will remain strong and is a good cash cow for all companies.
