  1. It comes from Poland. I got it in less than a week after ordering it to Hawaii (I know I suck)...I can tell you all the short comings of it. It's not bad. I got the twist version...
  2. The manual doesn't clarify that the FCS cooling switch is called, "AV COOLING" in the cockpit. In fact, it's not described at all. When activated, an external scoop is supposed to be deployed. This scoop can only be closed by ground personnel. The switch works (with scoop deployment sound), but I'm not sure if the system is completely modelled on the 3D external model, or in coding.
  3. In my professional experience, I've never heard of a radar vector that was given in one degree increments. The smallest I've ever heard were in 5 degree increments, but usually they are given in 10 degree increments. Possibly, I gave smaller increments during PAR (Precision Radar Approaches), but I don't remember now. I'm not sure what Intercept guys do, but I know that all ATC vectors are given in 10 degree increments (rarely 5 degree increments). Wind is in 10 degree increments, and Knots of speed. So, I'd like to see this fixed...or, at least made an option in case they do things different in ICAO...
  4. Yes! They land, rearm, refuel, and takeoff if there's a threat detected...I didn't setup radar or Mainstay, so I think you have to get close enough to the base to be detected...
  5. I've included the mission file in my original post...enjoy...
  6. ATC at Nellis won't clear for take off until on runway...
  7. Sounds like someone (who's handle rhymes with, iborg) wants to see blood in the water...;)
  8. I'm usually in the habit of exacting revenge on enemies that shoot my first aircraft down. I go after them in my second plane and usually find they have landed and easy pickings on the ground. Not so this time! They landed and parked, but when I flew near there base, they were rearmed and refueled and scrambled on me!!! Even the enemy bomber took off and tried to run away. Fortunately for them, I became a ground kill for one of the J-11's in a low level dogfight with low cloud cover...This improvement was totally unexpected and I'm thrilled that it happed. Thanks ED!!! Here's the mission that I made. You'll need the F-16C or just replace it with whatever you want... F-16C Blk50 Nellis Training.miz
  9. Please have pilots who eject and parachute into water be in a life raft. It would make a nice Search & Rescue mission opportunity...perhaps it could be a self generating mission with pilot in communications with someone broadcasting their position and status. In fact, it could work for all downed pilots...
  10. What is the maximum frames/second DCS will run at?
  11. As long as their are option settings that can be adjusted. Game performance vs eye candy balance hopefully won't be a problem...
  12. Since Turkey owns the bridges, I don't think they'll change things to accommodate the US carriers...;) This is just one more reason why DCS needs more maps that are in places that really can support US Carrier ops...
  13. There's a gap in the model. See the picture...
  14. It seems that American Aircraft Carriers maybe too tall to fit under the bridges of the Bosphorus straight which is the only channel into and out of the Black Sea, and the clearance of the bridges from sea level is 64 m (210 ft), according to Wikipedia. The Carriers are about are about 215 feet tall according to: https://www.answers.com/Q/How_tall_is_a_Nimitz_class_aircraft_carrier
  15. It may have been an intentional choice to make it this way, but it is far from realistic. Also, changing the slider you're referring to would cause all the external sounds to go too quiet. Please go to the external view and scroll away from the jet for several miles and you'll see this is not supposed to be...;)
  16. I was flying the F-18 and got hit by a missile. Everything was OK and I started heading back home, but after a minute or so I started losing consciousness. I was flying straight and level below 10k feet and even popped the canopy to let the fresh air in, but I still faded away and never came back...
  17. Do pilots suffer injuries where they fade out of consciousness over a short period of time? It isn't GLOC, or hypoxia, but probably from blood loss...
  18. Thank you for you effort, but it did help me to stumble on the correct key combo...the correct answer is....SHIFT TAB. This will give you a window with a switch to select your side only or all sides to chat to... SHIFT TAB is the correct key combo...;)
  19. I've been trying to use Text Chat in Mission, but nothing works. I hit the ~ key...nothing...I hit the ~+RCtrl key...nothing. The only thing that works is the TAB key can toggle the Text Chat window, but I can't use it...What the heck is going on?
  20. If you take note. There are five aircraft that spawn before me and my group. Yet, I still spawn right on top of the S-3's...The picture shows what happened. The mission file is also included...
  21. I like to start my missions on a carrier cold & dark. However, I can't park anywhere I want, and I'm always next to the forward catapults and get rammed by my own planes... FA-18C CVN Black Sea Training.miz
  22. You can see what actual air traffic activity is going on in the area... https://flightaware.com/live/airport/UGSB
  23. I have the Oculus CV1 headset. I decided to play with the in game IPD setting and take them to the extremes to see what happens. I set the IPD as low as 10 and as high as 200. I flew the F-15C and at the low settings, the cockpit was huge! I looked like I was in a small room and standing on the seat. At the highest settings the cockpit looked like it was a helmet wrapped around my face. It was hilariously ridiculously small. Try it and you'll laugh! It seems that calling it an IPD adjustment is inaccurate. It's more like a World Scale adjuster...
  24. The escort mission should allow them to escort Land and Naval vehicles. I've tried to get a helicopter to fly formation with the CVN since that's what they really do in case a pilot fails to land or depart properly...But, even if the helicopter is set to the same course and speed it doesn't stay put...it goes off ahead or behind the CVN...
