  1. Hi, I tried updating as I always do, and the updater got stuck at the end of the download (this is openbeta btw), complaining about not being able to find a bowwave.dds or similar file. I tried cleanup, restore, etc, nothing worked. reinstalled dcs and now when trying to run "dcs_updater.exe update @openbeta" it still complains, but this time about a different file, DCS_ControlAPI.html (see below for log). Added to exceptions for windows defender, and i'm not running other AV software. It's always worked fine until last patch. I'm running out of ideas! Thanks for any input on this issue. ------------ autoupdate_log.txt
  2. One more crashlog for you, this time I can give more info, I was conducting a HOT attack on an airbase in persian gulf, on the blueflag server, and fired on a buk radar, all well, then fired on a tunguska, and lo, as soon as i saw the first puff of smoke from the explosion, my game froze and crashed. I completely forgot about another crash i had yesterday with exactly the same dynamics: sneak on a camp, destroy tunguska, ctd. So in my case at least, replicated ctd with very similar dump to other reports, and caused by killing a tunguska with a hot while guiding on the viviane. Tried to replicate offline on a barebones ME scenario, and it didn't crash... so it might be online/script related? This all on latest open beta btw. Here's a link to the crashlog https://www.dropbox.com/s/gx6egkafgoscas9/dcs.log-20180627-160022.zip?dl=0 Thanks!
  3. crashed twice after doing the same flight on the blueflag server, getting to about 3km from the southern coast of qeshm island due south of basa'idu, and both times crashed while looking through the tv screen. similar crash earlier in the day looking over sukhumi with some vehicles transiting (dyndcs server). hope it helps, it's a shame that it's crashing like this, i enjoy this module otherwise (apart from the borked night ir cam). dcs.log-20180626-224656.zip
  4. Adding my experience for reference. GTX1070, i5-7500@3.4ghz, 16gb ram, fresh 1.5beta updated as soon as 2.2 dropped, on an ssd. First day after patch, no problems at all in sp or mp up to 30 players; smooth experience all around, no issues joining (little long loading but <4 minutes), smooth role selection screen, fast pit loading and zero stutter except for people replaning still giving hiccups long enough to kill you if you're NOE. yesterday, mixed bag on larger servers; blueflag works pretty well usually, 104th bit more iffy, sometimes throwing me back out to lobby after 2 minutes of loading, then letting me in but with unresponsive role select for minutes, which then slowly recovers and lets me grab a slot and load in without further problems. This is all in regular 3d, haven't tried mp in VR except for a small server with few people where i had exactly zero issues. I'd say issues are proportional to playercount, and that the "threshold" for when people experience problems varies somehow with system specs (mostly memory/pagefile?) and how "old" and stuffed your dcs installation is.
  5. Ah, i see; I have to leave soon and I'll be in the mountains with very spotty interwebs, I think it's best for all involved if someone else takes my spot entirely :) I'll be in at the next occasion. Sorry for the hassle! :(
  6. I have to travel back home for that weekend, and i'll be unable to fly :< Is it possible to somehow postpone my matches if the other parties agree? Otherwise I'll just make room for someone else, no problem.
  7. GPU and CPU are definitely over minimum requirements as indicated on the website. I can agree on the ram, 4gb is under par these days, and i may think of expanding on that. Anyway, it's not related to the issue i'm reporting; i may have "subpar" performance, but the main point is that the dedicated card is not being used at all.
  8. Hi El Hadji and thanks for your comment. To clarify, i'm playing on an Acer 5742G laptop (yeah, yeah, i know, i'm just stuck with it for the time being - though i don't have any problems with other games): -4gb ram -intel i5 M460 @2.53ghz -Nvidia GT540m graphics Now, since this happens _only_ with DCS so far, I'm quite confident that a BIOS problem (or anything hardware related) can be excluded; i saw on the changelog for 1.2.6 b4 (which is why i came back here after trying reinstalling dcs world again) that they apparently fixed something related to optimus, but for me, whatever it was that has been changed, doesn't work. Basically, even though i set the default graphics processor to the dedicated card, and created profiles for both Launcher.exe and DCS.exe, performance is still poor in game, and while running it windowed, no applications show up in the info box from nvidia which is supposed to show software that's using the dedicated card (it shows all other games correctly). I'm extremely puzzled and have ran out of options, so any help would be appreciated.
  9. Hello. I recently installed dcs world and the free su25 module, in order to check if my system can run the engine and eventually buy other modules to play with clanmates. On the first run I realised something was wrong, i could see through the aircraft and the framerate was horrible. After googling and checking the forums, I realised the culprit was nvidia and their AWESOME optimus system. I followed the instructions in the threads (even though everything was already set up properly since I had the pleasure to deal with this kind of trouble a few times in the past), forced the driver to use the dedicated gpu and created profiles for both the launcher and the DCS.exe executable. But even then, the game runs horribly, i can see through the plane, and the nvidia gpu monitor doesn't show anything in the "games using GPU" dialog. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the latest driver, doing a clean install, and redid all the tweaks, but still, no joy. Other games are running fine. Thank you for your time, I'll also post on the nvidia boards soon because I suspect that it's mainly their fault... :)
