  1. Does anyone know how to get helicopters to spawn on any other parking spot than spot 1? no matter what I chose, helos will only spawn starting at parking spot 1 on any carrier and the Tarawa.
  2. This post is not just for ED but to all the third party developers. I know it’s a lofty request, but can we please look into getting a fully integrated MEU built? We have the harrier, but how about an AH-1W cobra, CH-46, CH-53, UH-1N, MV-22, some variant of a seahawk, deck crew that do hand motions for helicopters. We already have the Harrier so for the sake of not having to use our imagination, I’d recommend of keeping the aircraft in the same time period of the harrier. this would be such a monumental lift and probably take decades, but think of how incredible it would be for helo ops of having CH-53s takeoff for a mission while flying AH-1s and harriers or hornets for support. Or combined UH-1/AH-1 ops. or developing missions on seizing a beachfront in a modernesque timeframe.
  3. From As an F-16 pilot, I can assure you that the 68 is more than capable of running CRM in A/G master mode. This is wrong in game. you aren’t able to shoot missiles but you can lock dudes up and then go to missile override or dogfight, to shoot your missile.

  5. So you can have the HAD, HSD, and TGP on the right MFD in A/G mode, switch to MSL OVRD, then go back to A/G and the right MFD will still have HAD,HSD,TGP? Also doesn’t the radar always go right back to GM after switching mastermodes? maybe I’m thinking of the hornet that always defaults to the A/G radar and some other BS but I thought the viper does the same in game
  6. It shouldn’t require the DTC. It is a function that is done independent of the DTC. It’s as simple as changing the mfd page to the location you want and it stays there for the remainder of the flight. I seldom use the DTC IRL to change my MFD page layout
  7. It’s been 3 months since I played last so I’m not too up to speed on recent updates however It would be awesome if the MFDs saved after setting up for each master mode. This is how the real viper operates and makes it less painful every time you go to air to ground, dgft, or Msl ovrd, Nav or sel jett from a real viper pilot
  8. DCS is shutting down on its own anytime I try and connect to a server. I tried to reboot my router but no dice. Any ideas on how i can fix this? dcs.log
  9. My apologies if this was already brought up before, but is there any discussion for dynamic smoke/foliage based upon rotor wash, jet blast or explosions? It would be pretty amazing to see smoke move down and away from rotor wash or foliage on trees/bushes to move from the rotorwash of a landing a helo. Not really a part of the intent of this topic but the dust/snow/grass cloud from helos needs a little TLC too. Just my 2 cents.
  10. I am unable to open model viewer similar to you guys. I am wondering if its a path issue. Any ideas on how to fix this? I try to delete the ed modelviwer in the saved games folder, but it populates again right when I open the model viewer
  11. In an effort to keep this topic alive, and show continued interest, I cannot express how amazing it would be to have the Blackhawk to supplement the Apache. Not sure if there is a licensing issue with doing the 60, but the UH-1 is far too antiquated for what many want from DCS.

  13. So I am trying to make a script where the fence on the Oak Hill lowers and deploys an LCAC. Do you know how to write the lua to include the speed of the animation?

  15. Figured it out! If there are people that were wrapping their nuggets on how to add static aircraft with open canopies and covers like I was, let me know and I can now help.
  16. Please pardon my ignorance when it comes to mission editing. I feel that it has to be super painful to deal with my level of retardation, but I did every task as you described but it didn't work. I copied and pasted the lua into the livery folder that I made for the stennis as seen in the pic, but no dice. Do I need to add anything else in the Livery folder or is the lua the only thing? Should I see the custom arguments in the "PAINT SCHEME drop down after creating a new livery? Also what does identifying the GT.name do in step 2 of your tutorial? Dude, I totally owe you for helping me out. I truly appreciate it.
  17. This thread is meant to start a discussion on creating custom arguments for objects. I am trying to make custom arguments to have carrier decks and ships have different deck configurations within the game>
  18. I am super new to scripting and I am fighting an uphill battle that seems like it should be easy... I am trying to set a few custom arguments to have uncontrolled hornets have their wings extended at an airbase with the canopy up (i.e crew ready) and a few that are buttoned up with covers on and remove before flight tags. I was hoping that they would start and the canopy closes but i understand that might be a bit too much to ask. Additionally, I was hoping to have the supercarrier cruise with the elevator doors open and the elevators lowered. Is there a way to do this? EDIT: This is bothering me enough that I am willing to come out of hide and say that I am an actual viper pilot and I am willing to give one of my patch's away to anyone who can help me with this and maybe some other pointers on ME/scripting.
  19. Awesome model Admiral. Big fan. I know this is off topic but, Rusty do you know if a YouTube video shows step by step how to add a custom argument to a static object? Or even one that shows how to adjust the elevators and doors of carriers? Sorry again to fill this thread with nonsense, but I am just beginning to get into scripting and struggling to find a good starting point that isn't overwhelming to read.
  20. I would love to have US Marine Aviation implemented into the DCS. MV-22, UH-1N/Y, AH-1Z etc. Especially with the future release of the F/A-18C, the D model would be pretty easy, especially once the F-14 by Leatherneck productions is complete. You really open the whole can of worms with Marine Aviation when you include LPDs, LHAs and CVNs and the other supporting ships
