  1. @Steinsch That comment wasn't specifically directed at you, but in general. As for the setting up of the stick - for my part, as mentioned, it isn't the stick. All other a/c fly OK. The only one I still have problems with due to my lack of practice, is the F-14 in dogfight situations, but that's me not handling it. As for landin the 29 - that rarely happens now, since I seem to be spending any time post takeoff trying to figure out what is going on with the stick before giving up and flying something easier like the Gazelle. If my controls are 3 foot long or 3 inches long, it will make no difference if the FCS making me trim the nose up until it has little nose down authority. It's as if a half implemented FFB system is trying to act on a non FFB stick. As I previously mentioned - in neutral trim, at moderate cruising speeds with the aircraft in damper mode, and straight & level, pulling gently back on the stick actually makes it push forwards in the cockpit. This can be trimmed out with Nose UP trim to a point where the opposite occurs - stick back causes the cockpit stick to go forward. A click of nose down trim then presumably puts it in what it wants to be neutral trim. At the same time, the left and rtight movements cannot be trimmed out and act as if stuck until enough force is acting to get the cockpit stick to move. This can not be how the real thing works - pilots would be crashing left right & centre. So it seems I am the only one with this specific problem, and it is only on the latest version of the Mig-29s. I think I'll just give up on this for now, it's not worth the effort.
  2. Tricky & touchy I can handle. That's just technique - regardless or stick or whether or not you have an "extension". I have a WH set up with no curves and no dead-zones (I tried them - they didn't help). This, and only this aircraft is almost un-flyable with it - nothing else has the same problem. Once the gear is up and with just the damper ON, it twitches all over the place with any input. The control setup shows everything is moving smoothly, but in cockpit, watching how the stick moves (and the control indicator), the roll axis seems to act as if there is a massive dead-zone, then suddenly jumps in the direction it is supposed to, but worse is the pitch that acts in reverse initially until it reaches some imaginary spot, where it carries on in the normal direction. You can see the stick twitch forwards in the pit when easing it back. This can be overcome by trimming the nose until it reaches equilibrium with that imaginary spot, at which point, the stick forward authority is practically zero. Another oddity is if I set my X & Y axis to act as Sliders, it seems to work a little better. Right now it is broken - at least for some people, so just telling people that they are not good enough doesn't help. It also doesn't help that the manual has almost no information on how to fly this thing - I mean the one we are supposed to use - not some unauthorised download from the interweb.
  3. I can confirm. During a tutorial, this has also happened to me. First of all, font scled as set in gui, then after a couple of blocks of text, back to 1x scale.
  4. I don't think the idea was that you should collect them all individually, but to allow users to just buy the one they want & save money. I don't think there is any difference in the actual data downloaded AFAIK. Not sure whether the J-11a is included with the SU-27 or not - TBH, I was surprised to see that you had to pay separately for the SU-33, so it is possible that it is not included with the SU-27. Either way, if you want more than a couple of them, then FC3 would seem a better deal.
  5. It is visible from a monitor POV too.
  6. Yet you don't find it odd that people manage to control other aircraft without these problems just by adding a curve? I'm managing the Spit and even the TwitchMonster that is the Gazelle with my stubby little Warthog. Only the Mig-29 is proving to be a glitchy deathtrap.
  7. Assuming the positions are unchangable (ED can of course do that), then can the textures not be altered so the decals appear lower down & positioned correctly by adding blank areas above and to the side of the serial/roundel? Plus the Fin flash...
  8. I'm also very grateful that I can now set the onscreen text size to a readable size. Just praying for a means to control the position of kneepads and control indicators without resorting to editing luas some day.
  9. There are some problems with the F-86 Canadian livery. A) The Stbd fin flash should be reversed, with red at the front. B) The Port roundel should align with the stbd. roundel. C) Roundels and codes on both sides of the fuselage should be lower down, nearer the centre of the fuselage, so they sit inbetween the black stencils, not over the top of them.
  10. Seems OK here. What do you mean by disappears? This is implying that it comes on for a while, then goes off. Have you checked that the switch is in the ON position after it goes off? If it goes to the off position, then it sounds like it may be assigned to a control that you are unaware of. [EDIT] It started happening to me too last update, and is still happening in latest Beta (21/06/19)
  11. The other main advantage of the Caucuses map apart from it's price - is that it has the correct infrastructure in place for all those pesky Russian navigation systems so you can make better use of those modules from the Eastern Bloc.
  12. Heavy handed pilots still manage to break grips regardless of the moment arm or composition of the grip. They are experts at breaking aircraft in novel ways.
  13. Oerr. Someone should report that - it might spread.
  14. The fact that this discussion is in a thread entitled "Resolved Bugs" is a bit of a problem, because it probably means that they are unlikely to look at it - why would they? After all it is not a bug any more, so no need to look.

    New Aircraft

I may have missed something - but do you have FC3? If you want an even more low-fi ground-pounder, then that gives you an SU25A and A-10A. The Su25A is much lighter and more nimble than the T, and relies on just a simple laser designator and a projected gun/bomb sight. Alternatively, you can get them individually.
  16. Don't forget that irl the harness is an inertia reel type, so in normal operation is unlocked and allows you to pull forwards and twist a little. This chap seems to be able to look behind himself OK:-
  17. Just went back to the training missions, and guess what - they are still the same - the Takeoff & pattern still leaves you flying off into the distance along your original heading.
  18. Close call. Glad you are OK. PS Yes combat gear saved many an airman from a fate worse than death. I assume yours were just as great at camouflaging you on a vast concrete pan as our Woodland pattern was? @BiggBossN7: I'm pretty sure ED have already said that the G effects are being taken into account, so that the OP question is answered isn't it?
  19. I'm a little confused too. In Cruise mode - flaps set to auto, speed is maintained, in Approach mode with flaps > 27 degrees switch in Half or Full setting, then AOA is maintained, according to what is in the DCS Manual. Perhaps some parts of it are not implemented yet? I'm not convinced that it isn't trying to kill me - but it does seem to at least maintain the AOA.
  20. You drive on the pavement - that's where we put the pedestrians - and you call us crazy! At least we both use Windscreen Vipers... See I got it back on topic.
  21. LOL ;) 1G is also pretty much what you pull when sitting on the brakes during towing at 10MPH (once the initial acceleration has been overcome). I tell you, I damned near blacked out during that manoeuvre. Thank god for the fleecy goodness of that inclined bang-seat. Don't get me started on the altitude problems all the way up there in that cockpit. Talk about nosebleed territory.
  22. The Warthog certainly works ok with that "other" F-16 sim IMHO. The 2 axes are not there, but the functionality of the Radar Elevation axis can be mapped to the grey friction lever, and the Man Rng/Gain portion of the other isn't something that really requires an axis, I use the China Hat. The press to Uncage function can be on the Throttle Button. Dogfight/Missile Override can use the boat switch, Airbrake - covered. Cursor,/Enable the TDI stick & button press, Comms - comms hat. I seem to recall the the X-52 pro worked quite well too. plus it has 2 axes, 1 slider and a joystick/mouse cursor.
  23. Au contraire. You call a bonnet a hood :P I love the small of Hydrazine in the morning..... cough!
  24. @rel4y: I agree, but I'd just give up if I were you. I'm not sure that many of the opinions here come from people who have experience in rigging aircraft controls.
