  1. Hi Chappaz I am not computer literate and I have no idea if what I am telling you will help - however I could not get DCS World to load because of a 0xc000007b error. I too have a working version of A-10 on the same computer which I acquired using steam. Very frustrating. I was fortunate to have a good IT guy at work - and maybe you will understand what he did. The problem was with the Msvcr100.dll file in my Windows 7 install. My business uses 8 PCs and the one I use at home for gaming was the problem. DCS World loaded and played on all 3 of my work PCs that I tried. The IT guy ran a program that isolated the file that was creating the problem on my home PC and he simply copied the file from one my my other computers to my home gaming computer. It now works for me. The strange thing is that I purchased all 8 PCs from the same distributors - how does something like that happen? Anyway - I have some understanding and sympathy for the ED guys. I hate to say it, but my evidence suggests it is the luck of the draw and is probably associated with the relevant PC and the Windows installation that you have. Hope my information helps you resolve the problem.
  2. Hi Timberlake90 Like I said, I am not computer literate in any way so I cannot advise in relation to your circumstances. Having made that qualifying statement, the IT guy simply copied the relevant file from one of my work computers in my firm's office (where DCS World had previously been loaded and worked - so we knew there was no 0xc000007b errors at issue) and took that file to my home and loaded it on my home computer. He then had to "register" the file on my gaming computer - not sure what that means - and after that he simply double-clicked on the DCS World icon and it loaded and played. I did not even have to re-install the DCS World software which up until then was returning the 0xc000007b error message every time I double clicked on the icon. If you can copy across that file and "register" it on your computer hopefully it will work. It is interesting that you too received an error message in relation to that file. You will appreciate that for weeks I looked through the DCS Forums looking for a solution to the 0xc000007b error and had not come across reference to that file. Good luck friend!
  3. Hi Guys If you read my posts (Subi) I have had exactly the same problem (same error code - 0xc000007b). I have been frustrated for almost a month. However, my IT guy from work returned from holidays and has fixed the problem for me. I am not even remotely computer literate - so I hope that you can benefit from this description. 4. Hi David I promised to get back to you if I could get the problem fixed. Well I now have the problem fixed. My IT guy from work returned from holidays and has fixed the problem for me. 6. Hi Guys I have quite literally tried all of the suggestions put forward in this thread - and nothing has worked. I looked at the "Bugs" section and see that the "0xc000007b problem" is not an uncommon issue with this game. There are also a variety of ideas mentioned in those threads - but is anyone aware of what the company's position is? Is there a standard 0xc000007b fix that the game's programmers are recommending. Before anyone suggests it, I have contacted support - on 18 January 2013. Apart from the stand acknowledgement email I have not heard anything further. I understand everyone is busy with a variety of issues - I am not complaining (especially since I am not yet a paying customer) - just hoping that there is some standard, well-tested, reliable fix for this issue. Any help would be appreciated.
  7. Hi SkateZilla and Sven 2157 Thanks very much for your feedback - it is very much appreciated. I probably do not have sufficient confidence in my very limited computer skills to follow your suggestions at this stage. However, there may be another solution to my requirements and I would appreciate your thoughts. The only reason I was trying DCS Worlds is to access DCS Combined Arms. Is it possible for me to use DCS Combined Arms without DCS World (I only use single player not multi-player and I am looking forward to the functionality of 1.2.3 as it relates to direct control of air assets) - or would my attempt to use DCS Combined Arms face the same problems that I am experiencing with DCS Worlds - i.e. cannot run the program because of the errors that I am experiencing. Your thoughts would be very much appreciated.
  8. Hi SkateZilla Thanks for the feedback. I tried to reinstall DCS Worlds by referring to the web-based installment instructions and your suggestion to uncheck the MS Visual C++ Box. The program installed. However, in attempting to run the program from the short-cut icon, the following error message occurred: "DCS_updater.exe Application Error. The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application." Obviously by clicking OK, the application shuts-down. So it now installs but cannot run because of what is being described as a "DCS_updater.exe" error. I downloaded the 4 installation files from the FTP 1 site - is it possible that any of those files may be corrupt? Have DCS had any similar feedback about similar problems? Lastly, the only reason I was trying DCS Worlds is to access DCS Combined Arms. Is it possible for me to use DCS Combined Arms without DCS World (I only use single player not multi-player and I am looking forward to the functionality of 1.2.3 as it relates to control of air assets) - or would my attempt to use DCS Combined Arms face the same problem as I am experiencing with DCS Worlds - i.e. cannot run the program because of the errors that I am experiencing. 9. Hi Dusty, thanks for your interest. My specs are as follows: Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, build 7601); Processor: Intel ® Core i7 - 3770k CPU @ 3.5 GHz (8 CPUs) ~ 3.5 GHz; RAM: 16 GB; DirectX Version 11; NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 4 GB. Is there any further information that would be helpful?
  10. Hi Ich666, Thanks for your prompt reply. I did try to install after closing the Visual C++ setup. I did not get the same error message. However, when I clicked on the icon to load the program after installation I got the following error message: "DCS_Updater.exe Application Error". The error code was (0x0000076), and it closed the application. So my current status is that I can load the program, I just cannot run the program. I checked, and I have 2 Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable 10.04.40219 programs. One is x64, and the other is x86. They appear to have been installed on different dates and do not seem to correlate with the installations of any particular games.
  11. First Question: I received DCS's e-mail newsletter on 25 December 2012 indicating that DCS Combined Arms has been released and that the DCS 1.2.3 Update is available (which seemed to include Combined Arms 1.2.3 with a number of new features). However, when I go to the DCS e-Store to buy the product I see that it is stated as DCS Combined Arms 1.2.2 (English download beta 2 version). I am very keen to buy DCS Combined Arms with the version 1.2.3 features. Is it currently available - and if so, how do I buy it? Second Question: I tried to install the latest version of DCS World from the DCS website today. When installing I got the following message: "Setup has detected that this computer does not meet the requirements to install this software. The following blocking issues must be resolved before you can install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Setup software package. A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been found on the machine". Does this mean I will not be able to also use the current version of DCS Combined Arms? I find this strange because I regularly use DCS A-10C Warthog (Steam version) with absolutely no problems. I even successfully played it AFTER DCS World failed to install to make sure that I could still play A-10 Warthog. My Windows system is Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I would really appreciate hearing from anyone on the forums who can assist. Thanks.
