  1. Where you guys getting your parts from for new raw building ideas or repair replacement? Looking for supply sources and who has good stuff. My controllers are CH Products and so far, so good these past 8 years but parts will fail eventually. Thanks
  2. Was getting ready to post this video, but figured I'd better check if it has recently been posted previously. My brother was on the USS Midway carrier in the 1970's. He said he had seen seas so rough when the carrier was in the wave's trough, the wave crest was over the ship's height. My brother went fleet, I went Seabees; we did basic together just a bit north of Chicago to Great Lakes. Thumbs up. Cheers
  3. Buddyspike's current Persian Gulf map, Blue Flag themed mission, in Multiplayer on the Stennis carrier, the F-18 spawns to the parking spot waiting to be started (might be ON the elevator). Have to taxi to the catapult manually for launch. A bit tricky finding the catapult shoe as no F-key external views, but once near it, "U" will hook you up. Then raise the Launch Bar before engaging full throttle for automatic launch. Hands off the stick until off the boat. Chuck's Guide walks you through the process.

    Mi-8 or Huey?

I have both the Huey and Mi-8. I like flying Red-side in Blue Flag. So, I use the Mi-8 . My main ride is the Ka-50, but in Blue Flag, having the Mi-8 gives me the resupplying bases options. Once learned, the Mi-8 is easy >>> for me, anyway... Learning any of the aircraft at 1st is a very real chore for me. None of it is easy. Just gotta' do it!! Since my Navy Seabees' training was in the 1970's, the Huey interested me just because I was there and saw it for real; so I wanted to learn about her. -+- One other point. For me and my CH Products controllers : Chuck's Guide(s) have it just about right for each aircraft, setting up the controllers and fine tuning them >>> as to your Gazelle issues.

  6. Yes, I agree!! I'd like to see this implemented as a choice, too! Almost everybody strives for realism in DCS, then does not follow through...

  8. What are the rules using my current DCS installation with building a new PC? Been with DCS since BS1. I have most of the inventory. Am I allowed to transfer my aircraft , terrains , etc. to the new machine? What is the process and the how-to to do it? References and / or links to read ? Thanks
  9. How does my C: drive OpenBeta already have my controllers' profile setup when I did everything on my M: (Solid State Drive) ?? Must be the "Saved Games" OpenBeta is universal to all 2.5.2 (current time-line) drives . Thanks for the reply.
  10. In controllers' profile setup in Options / Controls , where does this reside in C: ? -+- I run the OpenBeta on a copy I put on my SSD labeled M: I did all my controllers profile setup on my M: drive, NOT the OpenBeta in C: I went to my C: drive OpenBeta to go through the controllers' profile setup there and found it already set up as I did on my M: drive . I'm guessing Options / Controls profile setup must reside in Saved Games somewhere... under Users/My name ? But not... *************************************Still on Windows 7 Pro
  11. Hi! To "falcon 120" or anybody that can confirm my question...referring to Message #23 above. Your 3 (.diff.lua) files are placed here, correct ?? C:\Users\[username]\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input\[aircraft]\joystick If this is not correct, where do the ( F18C Joy, Rudder, Throttle ).diff.lua files reside ?
  12. I graduated high school 1970. I don't think we even had hand-held calculators, yet, for math and physics. I remember using the engineer's slide rule. I did not learn any computer PC stuff in school. I am self taught. The advanced programming by Bob Church that is available for the CH Control Manager is a bit over my head. I never took the initiative to dive in and figure it out, yet. Nice you guys offer your stuff. Another guy that seems to be super-smart to CH Hangar is the user Ken King (531_Ghost); checkout his A-10C Warthog profiles. And this how-to tutorial (Ken has others) : http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3124081/Control_Manager_-_How_Do_I My profiles I make for myself are not very advanced but they work for me.
  13. Yes. This is where the Helicopters' profiles are stashed and not just for DCS : http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php?/files/category/8-helicopter-sim-profiles/ and the downloads index : ================= http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/index.php?/files/ You just keeping your shared file to this DCS Forums thread is just fine. $hit happens, nice to stash stuff to other sources. Revvin keeps his stash still going though the CH Products controllers have kind of lost their luster after later "improvements" have appeared to the controllers market. My controllers are 7 years old and almost like new out of the box.
  14. My Ka-50 BS2 .map profile I got there from Capt Crunch I still use since BS1. Just saying. Do what's best for you. Thanks
  15. Hi, I use the CH Control Manager always, all my aircraft and I have most of the inventory. Have you contacted Revvin to stash your profile ? http://www.ch-hangar.com Thank you!!
  16. - - - -------------I realize Chit-Chat is not the place for this post, but I am desperate for advice.---------- I have a copy of my (C: ) 2.5 Stable version on my SSD that I no longer need. I need room to download the Persian Gulf Map. I want to eliminate the copy. I want to save all my aircraft activations. What is the process and/or the how-to manual to deactivate according to the DCS rules ??
  17. DieHard, You got good-taste in music for sure!! LOL!!
  18. Same battalion? That's impressive AND ballsy--too! ; if at war-time. Brother and I enlisted Navy together at the same time : me 22, him 18. And started out basic together with the same company. I busted my ass to get so I barely got thru swimming qualifications in the biggest indoor pool I ever saw. A week later we got separated. He needed glasses and was set back one week. I aced one of the exams and got the night off, so I looked him up to go visit him. I went Bees and he went Fleet. Nice for you!! (Originally got up to 240 pounds. Dropped to 200; back to 210, currently 205 pounds and 30 to go. Added a mile walk daily at dawn!) -+- Thanks you guys for the motivation kick-in-the-butt!!
  19. Don't know where to put this : "The White Cliffs Of Dover" ================= -+- I know DCS is just a sim and we are not really hurting anybody except maybe ourselves. But the simulated carnage gets to me sometimes. (Maybe because I am prior military service? And we vets know the difference!)

  22. I play MP mostly, rarely SP except for training. I'll wait and see what the servers I attend do. Normandy I only played with the Burning Skies WWII era guys and Nevada the F99th. I rarely use either one but have them. Blue Flag server interests me lately and sometimes the 104th . I read talk that Mustang (104th) was going to be using the Persian Gulf map.
