  1. Please disregard this post, I found a way to fix the problem in the Control Panel. Hi, I have been trying to set up TeamSpeak 3 and have run into a problem that I thought that someone could maybe help me with. In the Setup Wizard where I go to test the microphone on my headset in regards to how much volume is being generated (using Push to Talk) I click ‘Begin Test’ and hold my hotkey and speak and nothing shows on the volume scale at all. I did look into what the Setup Wizard recommended which was to change the capture device used to capture audio and I still could not find a way to get the volume to show up on the scale of the Setup Wizard. I checked that the mute button for my headset was off and that the chat volume was fully up but with no luck. I right-clicked the speaker icon in the bottom right of my screen and went to playback and selected my headset and clicked properties. I then set the ‘green jack front in’ (the green jack I use is at the front on my PC) volume level to full as it was on zero and ran the setup wizard again but with no luck. I could not see my headset under the 'Recording' section, the only microphone there was showing up as not connected (Realtek High Definition Audio). Do I need to somehow set up my headset microphone under the 'Recording' section? Could anyone help me out with how to get this volume to register in this setup process? If I leave this as it is will I be able to speak when in a sim with others using TeamSpeak 3 and will they be able to hear me? I am using a Turtle Beach Earforce X12 PC/Xbox 360 headset that plugs into a USB port as well as a green jack (at the same time). I plan to put a post on the TS forums also but thought someone here might be able to help. 2. Hi, I am also having problems since the last update. I got a message similar to, ‘Can’t move E:\DCS World\_downloads\Mods/aircraft/Su-25T/Missions/EN/Training/Combat Employment/image.png to E:\DCS World\Mods/aircraft/Su-25T/Missions/EN/Training/Combat Employment/image.png: (2) The system cannot find file specified’ . After that the icons in DCS World for the F86 Sabre and FW190 D9 were greyed out even though I own them and could play them with no problems before the latest update. Could anyone please advise me on what to do now? Should I try to install them again or is a ‘fix’ for this coming soon? I don’t want to use an activation if this is something that will be fixed soon. Thanks, OZTRIPWIRE Specs- Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @3.40GHz LGA 1150, 8GB Corsair DDR3 1600MHz RAM, 64 bit operating system, Leadtek GTX 660TI PCI-E 2GB 192-bit DDR5 graphics card, Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3 4xDDR3 motherboard. 3. Please disregard this post, issue resolved. Hi, Just logged into the DCS site and have started to download the DCS Mig21 and have run into a problem. Once I started to download it SmartScreen Filter is saying that the ‘exe’ file (to download the DCS Mig) is not commonly downloaded and is not signed by its author and could harm my PC’. Does everyone else get this warning as well? Is it okay to download/install material with this warning coming up? :helpsmilie: Thanks for putting up with my noob question. OZTRIPWIRE
  4. Hi, I am interested in finding some good online coop missions for the A10C that are not difficult and that can be flown in single player as well so that I can get some experience flying the missions before doing them with other people. Can anyone help me out? I would prefer ones that are not too long and that start in a hot start or in the air. I would also prefer ones that don't need too many human pilots if possible. Thanks for any help, OZTRIPWIRE
  5. Hi, I am trying to set up a profile for the A10C on a Viewsonic touchscreen using Helios and went to download Cap Loz’s profile from the ‘Gadroc’s Workshop’ site but when I go to download the profile I don’t get a ‘zip’ file, all I get is an ‘.rar’ file. When I click that all I get is a notepad file and no way that I can see to download the profile. Could anyone please tell me how to find the appropriate file to download to set up this profile up on my touchscreen monitor. On the same site there is other user profiles that have ‘zip’ files to download but not this one. I know that this is to do with another site but thought that someone on this one might be able to help me find this ‘zip’ file. Thanks very much, OZTRIPWIRE
  6. Hi, I have a few questions about touchscreen monitors. Can anyone please tell me if the Viewsonic TD2420 Full HD Multi-touch LCD 24inch touchscreen is suitable for DCS flight sims? I have just read on Amazon that it has some serious touch recognition issues such as registering touches very inaccurately. Also someone said that edge gestures are basically impossible. As well as this I read somewhere else that around the edges you have to press very hard to get it to register. If this is true it does not sound like the best touchscreen for DCS. Could anyone please tell me if this is true and if this is not a good monitor for DCS sims then what could be a better monitor for these sims, without going too over the top in price? I can afford a max price of around $650 for a good touchscreen monitor. I really appreciate any help. OZTRIPWIRE
  7. Hi, I am looking around for a simple, basic guide to set up Helios on a 24inch touchscreen just using other people’s profiles such as the one for the A10C by Cap Loz. I am just a noob at this type of thing and am really looking for a very basic and simple guide to setting up Helios using other people’s profiles and found one by ‘Sim Deck’ on Youtube that he did in 2011 . This seems very simple to me compared to others I have found and I was wondering if that is still ok to follow with the current version of Helios? If not does anyone know of any other very simple guides for this? I saw guides by DerekM for example but they seemed much more complicated than the one I saw on Youtube by Sim Deck, so I am looking for the most basic ones possible. I am also wondering whether setting up a touchscreen will stop my keyboard and mouse etc from working and if so what do I do to stop that from happening? Thanks, OZTRIPWIRE
  8. Flaps OK Hi, Thanks very much for your help but I have sorted out my issue with the flaps in the FW190. I expected the lowering of the flaps to be visible from the cockpit like in the Mustang but just found out that they are not, and that the top part of the rear area of the wing stays in the same position in the FW190 when flaps are lowered, unlike the Mustang. The flaps seem to be working fine. Thanks again. ozTRipwiRE
  9. Hi, I recently bought the FW 190 D9 module and like it quite a lot but am having a problem with not being able to lower the flaps in order to land etc. I press the ‘F’ key to lower flaps but they do not move. I mapped the flaps to lower when I set my Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS flaps switch to down just to check it but still the flaps do not lower. I also pressed LWin + 1 (in the Commands section this was meant to turn on the electrical system for the flaps. I don’t know much about this system yet) before pressing the ‘F’ key and the HOTAS flaps down switch but still had no luck. Can anyone please tell me if I am missing something here or is this a glitch in the sim? By the way I just tried the same thing in the Mustang and the flaps lowered properly first time. I didn’t think it worth doing a track for this but can do if needed. Thanks, OZTRIPWIRE My specs are: Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @3.40GHz LGA 1150, 8GB Corsair DDR3 1600MHz RAM, 64 bit operating system, Leadtek GTX 660TI PCI-E 2GB 192-bit DDR5 graphics card, Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3 4xDDR3 motherboard. My sound card is a 256MB RAM 3-core MDX Intel ® Display Audio, NVIDIA High Definition Audio and Realtek High Definition Audio.
  10. Hi, I have been getting into flying the Su25T quite a bit and have been having a problem with the Kh25MPU missiles in the Instant Action mission ‘Close Air Support Medium Difficulty’. Although the SEAD mssiles worked fine in the ‘SAM Killer’ Instant Action mission that I finished just previously (I did not update my DCS World version in between) almost every time that I target the anti-air units that show up on the HUD as diamonds when using the Kh25MPU missiles to target radar guided weapons my Kh25MPU missiles miss in this mission. They usually hit behind the target and do not kill it. I read that it can lead to inaccuracies with these weapons if I don’t have the center of the targeting reticule directly over the target when locking it up so I experimented with that and put the dot of the targeting box directly over the target and still the 25MPU missiles missed (this was not in the gameplay I recorded and attached to this post). I read as well that they are inaccurate in reality but so far I have not missed at all in the 'SAM Killer' mission (using this missile) but can’t seem to get a proper hit at all in this Close Air Support Instant Action mission. I did hit one of the targets one time by flying very low but this still only disabled the target and did not kill it. It still kept shooting at me. I have attached a track to this post and really would appreciate it if someone could tell me what I am doing wrong and how to fix this if it is a bug. Using DCS World version 1.2.8.27203. Thanks, ozTRipwiRE My specs are: Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @3.40GHz LGA 1150, 8GB Corsair DDR3 1600MHz RAM, 64 bit operating system, Leadtek GTX 660TI PCI-E 2GB 192-bit DDR5 graphics card, Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3 4xDDR3 motherboard. 11. Hi, I am interested in looking into buying a touch screen to set up to play DCS sims on as a second monitor and have some very basic questions about them. I wanted to confirm that they work with these sims, firstly, but I take it from what I have read on the forum that they can be used. Could anyone tell me though how complicated they are to set up? I am interested in Helios but am just a beginner with that type of thing and am still learning about it. Will Helios allow me to set up a touch screen monitor as a second monitor that I can touch a part of it to change what it is displaying, such as switching from an MFD to the radios and so on? I saw a guy online doing that with an iPad and would like to know if I can do that with a touch screen monitor? Is it an option to use a touch screen monitor in the DCS sims and just touch the buttons and flick the switches on the monitor and that will be the same as clicking with the mouse? Has it been programmed to do that with touch screen monitors for the DCS sims yet? I get the impression from what I have read that I can do this but just wanted to confirm that before I buy a touch screen monitor. Any help is appreciated, ozTRipwiRE
  12. Hi, I am trying to resolve some technical issues with my DCS sims on my PC (and have been told to archive the Saved Games/DCS/LOGS folder (after playing a sim)and send it off to someone to help me to try to fix the problems. Still trying to get my head around computers and would like to know what exactly is meant by archiving this logs folder. Do I just play the sim and exit, go into ‘Saved Games/DCS/LOGS’ and copy that folder and paste into an email to send off, or is there a different way to archive this log files folder to send off by email? I had better mention that my email service has size restrictions when sending emails so I may have to find a way to work around that. By the way the problem I am having is my air to ground sensors not picking up ground targets properly in DCS A10C, Black Shark and in the Su25T aircraft, they just don’t appear most of the time even when the sensors are right on them. Also the TV display in the Black Shark is of very bad quality and very hard to read properly. If anyone has had these problems (I use version 1.2.6 which I downloaded into DCS World and am still to download newer versions) or knows how to fix it please reply to me. I have tried to experiment with different settings under OPTIONS in DCS World but so far with no luck. I have a reasonably new gaming PC. My specs- Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @3.40GHz LGA 1150, 8GB Corsair DDR3 1600MHz RAM, 64 bit operating system, Leadtek GTX 660TI PCI-E 2GB 192-bit DDR5 graphics card, Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3 4xDDR3 motherboard. 13. Hi, I have a problem with a basically new PC that is not displaying the Warthog’s MFDs and the Black Shark’s TV display to a decent standard. I have previously posted on this but thought it could help to put this post under the Warthog, Black Shark and Input/Output sections. Sorry if it is long post but I have had a lot of problems with these games! When I load up a game of the DCS A10C and go to target the trucks, for example, in the first Instant Action Mission, on my new PC (on both my large screen TV and another PC monitor that I used to check to see if it would work better) they don’t show up most of the time even when the Targeting Pod is pointed straight at them and at a zoom level where they should show up (not zoomed way out in other words). Often when I zoom right in close they will suddenly appear. I am using (on my PC which is giving me the problems) the download version of DCS Warthog in DCS World. When I play on a different, less powerful PC and monitor with a version of the sim I put on from CD I can see the enemy ground targets clearly and from a very ‘zoomed out’ perspective on the MFDs in the Hog and the TV display in the Black Shark. With the Black Shark the display is very clear on the other PC (not the one that is giving me problems). This problem with the sensors not picking up targets properly is my first problem. The second is the actual display in the Black Shark on my new gaming PC. As I said it is very good on the PC I used to use but is much less clear on my new gaming PC. It is not blurry but is still very hard to scan for targets due to it having less clarity, I suppose I could say. I tried changing the cockpit displays to 1024 as ShuRugal suggested and this helped a little but the quality is still very hard to read when looking for enemy targets. It is only the TV display that is like this, the rest of the cockpit is very good. I use HDMI to connect my gaming PC to my large screen TV also. I did check the settings (under 'Options')for the Warthog on that other PC and changed the Warthog’s settings on my gaming PC to be the same but still the Targeting Pod would not pick up targets properly. It still would not pick up targets properly at all zoom levels. I then put back the settings to how they were. I could not take a screenshot of these and paste them in for some reason so I have written them out here. These settings are: Textures- High Scenes- High Civ Traffic- Off Water- High Visible Range- High Heat blur- Off Shadows- High Resolution- 1366 × 768 Aspect Ratio- 1.7786458333333 Monitors- 1 screen Resolution of cockpit displays- 1024 MSAA- 8 × HDR- Off Clutter/Bushes- 0m Trees visibility- 5757m Preload radius- 150000m Disable Aero Interface was not ticked. Tree Shadows was not ticked. VSYNC was not ticked. Full Screen was not ticked. Cockpit shadows was not ticked. TSSAA was ticked. To test to see if it is a problem with my PC or with my large screen TV I set the PC up with another monitor and still could not pick up the ground targets properly, so I believe it is a problem with the settings or something like that on my actual computer. Could anyone please help me out and advise me on what could be the problem here and what I could do to get the TV display on the Black Shark to a decent level of clarity and to get both the functioning of that display and the MFCDs in the A10C to a good level where I can properly pick up targets on the ground at all zoom levels like I can do on my old ‘back up’ computer? Thanks very much for any help with this. 16. Hi, I have a few noob questions about navigation in the FC3 F15C. The tutorial told me to follow the ‘integrated flight director cross’ (the ‘+’ symbol) on the HUD to be sure I am on the right course. However when I take-off and try to find the correct course in the F15C in the first campaign mission in FC3 (the FAM flight) I can not find the ‘integrated flight director cross’ anywhere. Could anyone please tell me how to get this cross displayed on the HUD? I also tried navigating using the HSI, following the course indication on that instrument and lining the aircraft up with the corresponding heading on it but the distance to the waypoint kept getting further and further away. What am I doing wrong here? Thanks very much for any help, ozTRipwiRE
  17. Targeting Pod of Warthog Hi, Thanks very much for your help, but I have put off trying to ‘fix’ the Black Shark display and am focussing on trying to improve the function of the Warthog Targeting Pod as that is a priority for me at the moment. Maybe you could help me out with it? Sorry that this is not in the DCS Warthog section. I have attached a video of how it works for me. Is this what happens for you as well if you play that sim? The targets seem to ‘pop’ in and out and don’t seem to show up properly on the screen. I am not sure if others experience this or not. If this is not the general experience could you please help me to fix this so I can see the enemy targets on the Targeting Pod display when at all levels of zoom? Thanks very much for any help. The version of DCS Warthog I am using is one I recently downloaded into DCS World, not an old copy. My specs are: Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @3.40GHz LGA 1150, 8GB Corsair DDR3 1600MHz RAM, 64 bit operating system, Leadtek GTX 660TI PCI-E 2GB 192-bit DDR5 graphics card, Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3 4xDDR3 motherboard. My sound card is a 256MB RAM 3-core MDX Intel ® Display Audio, NVIDIA High Definition Audio and Realtek High Definition Audio. I use HDMI on my PC. I tried to take a screenshot of my settings but pressing Prt Scr then pasting did not work so I will have to try a different way. Thanks very much for any help, ozTRipwiRE Video of Targeting Pod.trk
  18. Hi, I have a question about the campaign structure in FC3. I just finished the Instant Action mission, ‘F15C Intercept’ and plan to start the campaign for the F15C but have heard that if I don’t take out a certain amount of enemies in the missions I will have to redo the previous mission. Is this correct? If so and I quit the mission before being shot down and hitting the ground will I still have to redo the mission before? Thanks for any help, ozTRipwiRE
  19. Display in Black Shark Hi MTFDarkEagle, Sorry to take so long to post this. You asked me to post a screenshot of the display in the Shark for you. I have run into another problem though that I need help with. Could you help me out with it? The problem is that the display does not seem to properly show up enemy targets. I have experienced this with DCS Warthog also. They would not appear until zoomed in very close then they suddenly appeared. Is this your experience also? I would appreciate help with this. Thanks, ozTRipwRE
  20. Hi, I have been getting into DCS Warthog a bit and have a question for those who play it. Is it the experience of most of you that the Targeting Pod sometimes only picks up targets when zoomed in quite close or can most of you pick them up when zoomed out quite a way. I had a problem with a version of DCS Warthog that I installed from CD where the trucks in the first Instant Action mission only appeared when zoomed in quite close and this is still happening with the version I just downloaded through the Module Manager. They would not be on my MFCD screen at all and would then suddenly appear. When they appeared they were zoomed in quite close. I was playing another mission where enemies would appear when zoomed out quite a way though. Is this the experience of most of you and do you just work around it by making sure you are zoomed in very close when searching for ground targets? Please let me know so I can know if it is a problem specific to me or if you also have experienced this issue. Thanks, ozTRipwiRE
  21. Shkval problem Hi Tone71, Thanks for your help. The cockpit is okay, it is just the Shkval display that is the problem. I did change the resolution (thought I had tried that before) like ShuRugal recommended and that helped a lot. Now the display is much easier to read but still is a bit blurry. Thanks, ozTRipwiRE
  22. Hi, I have purchased a new PC to play games like the Black Shark on and have connected it to my large screen TV to play, but have run into a problem with flying the Black Shark. Sorry if I don’t include a great deal of technical information here but I am not very technically minded. I hope that it is OK to ask my question anyway. On the old PC that I was using the Shkval display displayed excellent image quality but as soon as I started playing the Shark on my new PC and my TV the image quality is absolutely awful. It is hard to explain but it has made it virtually impossible to make out enemies on the ground properly as the image quality is terrible. I could make out enemies a bit better when they were in the open however. I did go into the Options and experimented with different settings but the best I could get was still no good at all. I had installed the core game of Black Shark from CD (not in DCS World) and then downloaded the update into DCS World and do realise that the core game is probably very outdated. Seeing that I have already experimented with different settings for this chopper would it be a good idea to uninstall the core Black Shark game that I put on my PC from CD and the Black Shark 2 upgrade in DSC World and then purchase the full game from DCS that includes the upgrade, putting this full game into DCS World? Would this maybe solve this problem or is there another way that I could try that could perhaps solve this issue that preferably doesn’t involve having to change graphics files or anything like that? Could anyone please inform me on what to do with this issue? My present PC specs are: Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @3.40GHz LGA 1150, 8GB Corsair DDR3 1600MHz RAM, 64 bit operating system, Leadtek GTX 660TI PCI-E 2GB 192-bit DDR5 graphics card, Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3 4xDDR3 motherboard. My sound card is a 256MB RAM 3-core MDX Intel ® Display Audio, NVIDIA High Definition Audio and Realtek High Definition Audio. Any help is much appreciated, ozTRipwiRE
  23. Hi, I have been getting into DCS Warthog and seem to be experiencing a glitch with the Targeting Pod. On the first Instant Action mission and in custom made missions done through the Mission Editor the pod will not properly pick up targets. They will not be there even when zoomed in close and when I add a tiny bit more zoom to the pod they will suddenly appear (they were in a central position on the MFCD too). They firstly appear partly transparent then solid. For example, I was trying to lock up one of the trucks (waypoint SUPPLY) in the first Instant Action mission and, with no hills or anything like that in between, one time holding ‘C’ to slew to the waypoint would put me directly over the trucks and the next time they would not be on the MFCD screen. One of those times I pressed on ‘Home’ to zoom in a small amount more and they suddenly appeared. They were not at a distance where I should not have seen them due to being too far away and when they suddenly appeared they were already zoomed in very close. This happened also in a Mission Editor mission. I was sure to have the correct waypoint selected on the HUD. I am using a copy of DCS Warthog which I installed from CD. What can I do to remedy this? My PC specs are: Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @3.40GHz LGA 1150, 8GB Corsair DDR3 1600MHz RAM, 64 bit operating system, Leadtek GTX 660TI PCI-E 2GB 192-bit DDR5 graphics card, Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3 4xDDR3 motherboard. My sound card is a 256MB RAM 3-core MDX Intel ® Display Audio, NVIDIA High Definition Audio and Realtek High Definition Audio. Thanks, ozTRipwiRE
  24. Thanks for help with Mavericks Hi Balion, Thanks very much for that. Got the Mavs working fine now that I press and hold LCTRL+UP after locking onto my ground targets. ozTRipwiRE
  25. Hi, I need a bit of help firing off the Mavericks from the Warthog and would really appreciate it if anyone can help me out. I have not played it for a while and have just started again, and have a problem. I lock onto a ground vehicle with the TGP by pressing LCTRL + UP Arrow when over it (this is on the left MFCD). I then make the Mav screen on the right MFCD SOI and press and hold the V key to try to slew the Mav camera onto that locked on vehicle. Problem is that when I press V I lose my lock and both the left MFCD with the TGP and the right MFCD with the Mav camera reverts to the original waypoint of the mission, being the point that the TGP slewed to when I pressed and held the C key at the beginning of the mission. I don’t know what I am doing wrong. I checked out the Eagle wiki and some other sources but could not find out what I am doing wrong. Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong and what to do to fix this issue. The mission is the Sitting Ducks mission. Thanks, ozTRipwiRE
