  1. As a pilot I rarely get off the pit during my flying time (being an airborne ranger is totally a different story), so knowing the airports is part of the pre-take-off-briefing, is not it? Know some geo (like the ground pounders do).
  2. The Su-25 does not have any systems like this. Targets are visually aquired. You can lock the target for YP (guided missiles) using the LASER range finder in ground stabilized mode. AFAIK there is no way to transmit this information to other planes, since it's a LASER beam from the top of your aircraft not bound to any INS/GLOSSNAS or other geo-positioning system. This is why I love the Su-25: you need to learn navigation, learn attack patterns and visual aquirement and finally: talk to your wingman plus do a proper flight planing. Flying by the guts . :pilotfly:
  3. Although I do not completely understand your problem... :book: First, you need to add the Controls in Mission Editor. If you take active part as a JTAC you cannot control the whole group. You need to be Ground Forces Commander or Game Master. If you are in "First Person" in the vehicle keep "G" pressed to show a green arrow that directs the whole group, if case you are Commander. Also you need to be in Comander Role to order other units. Not all units are steerable (e.g. multi-vehicle sam systems) not all units are moveable (e.g. fixed zu-23, Sam-installations "kub", EWRs).
  4. I'd do something in blender. Gimme a Su-25 cockpit and I'll do. Gimme some parts and Ill do the instrument itself.
  5. Make sure that having the main screen open, the CA-Symbol is not showing a "$" (to buy) symbol. If it does show, start Singleplayer and open a CA mission. If in F10 and selecting a ground vehicle designed to play jtac (single unit sams, SPAAA, HMVVEE, Tanks) a "tank" icon appears in top row left side. Simply click that to enter the "first person control" of that ground unit. HTH, Grunt Feedback appreciated.
  6. Take a look at the wiki: http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Virtual_Squadrons_and_Regiments
  7. Dear community, I wondered lately if I can add some work to military ground gear. E.g. there are some German "cars" that I like to add as eyecandy. Later, when I understood the workflow, I can think of adding them to CA as playable. E.g. German: - Luchs (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luchs_%28Sp%C3%A4hpanzer%29) - Fennek JTAC! (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fennek_%28Sp%C3%A4hpanzer%29) - Dingo (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATF_Dingo) - Boxer (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/GTK_Boxer) - Wiesel Airborne operations! (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiesel_%28Waffentr%C3%A4ger%29) - M113/Motar (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/M113_Panzerm%C3%B6rser_120mm) Also improving the search/track/aiming system for Gepard need much improvment. Why do I have to radars if I only receive optically in CA? For now I will take a look at the structure present.
  8. ATC gibt QFE (Schwelle = 0mtr/0ft).
  9. Wenn Du kein Englisch verstehst, schreibe mir ne Nachricht. Ansonsten einfach mal lesen: http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Mission_Editor:_Weather_Modelling :book:
  10. Falcon, at no point I questioned this. It's rather the realistic cycle, the cockpit switch (threeway or cycle), the cycle (if any), the readout and the altered behaviour if starting from runway. In fact landing lights do extinguish when gear is retracted and the last state is reproduced when/after extending the landing gear. The main problem is, there is no readout in the cockpit to assure the lights' status w/o ext views which I refer to as a cheat.
  11. Correct me if I am wrong. I learned that planes take off clean unless heavy loaded. Operational standard for Su-25 is to take off with flaps in maneuver position (level 1) but not 2, as done by DCS at runway takeoff configuration.
  12. Hi! I found that the Su-25 (and T) operating cycle for Taxi/Landing lights is as follows: 1: Off 2: Lights near (Taxi) 3: Lights far (T/O and Landing) 4: Goto 1 When I do a "Takeoff from Runway" the ext lights are set to far (takeoff) position, but are switching to taxi, which is alterating after one cycle. Bug or feature? A "full cycle" would be: 1: Off 2: Taxi 3: T/O - Landing 4: Taxi 5: Goto 1 Since I would need the taxi after landing, would not I? In summation with having no readout I easily become a christmas-tree flying ground attacks. Whats the real deal?
  13. I wondered eversince there is a legal :smartass:way checking the state of your ext lights. In Su-25T you can at least sneak the wingtips.. but Su-25 inflight: no dice.:helpsmilie: Even in russian A/C an engineer would have installed some type of switch/feedback. Where is the switch anyways — behind the head? :joystick: I would even read through instructions to make it happen. :book:
  14. ...and for Su-25, too. +1 ...and for Su-25, too. :pilotfly:
Viel Erfolg!
  16. [solved] See post #3 and #5 (2012-12-20) Thank you very much, Mustang.
  17. [solved] see post #3 and #5 I bought the non-russian version of FC3 but activated "Russian Cockpit" because the SU-25 is a cold war Russian airplane. I now have: English COMs, cyrillic imagery of that cockpit but the EKRAN and the Beryoza is in Latin letters/English. I fear to install FC2 mod to get Russian again. I request to change that to Russian again or help me do redesign it, so it will be fixed in the next patch. Precisely: - Russian Radio COMS (audio/menus?) - Russian symbology/typography in RWR/SPO Beryoza - Russian symbology/typography in EKRAN (damage info screen) Thanks in advance! Clark, learning Russian best in a cockpit.
  18. Tuning in the Radio and/or switching to intercoms is not quicker to me than simply start APU and hit two switches at CDU. :book:
  19. Su-25 and Su-25T: NavigationLights and Taxi/Landing-Lights switch/readout I wonder if you can have a realistic chance of learning the state of your ext lights sitting in the cockpit. I'd love to see two switches or readouts so I wont get wront continuously counting up to three. Thanks in advance also for hints if I was simply too blind finding it.
  20. Then you will only miss the "nosewheel steering button", but you'll quickly realize when trying the first turn on the ground. :D
  21. Case 1 Bat ON, Inverter ON, APU Start, CDU Switches (2x) ON. Wait for Master Caution to cease: voila! Alignment is starting. Is there a quicker way? (INS aligned for take off, overall time: slower) Case 2 Do not care: same steps, CDU Navpage, Align: press: INFLIGHT. Be quick. Be very quick. Take off w/o EGI and activate it when INS reaches 5.0.0.8. (INS not aligned at T/O, no flight management and TAD work possible on the ground, overall time: quick, since you align on your way.) What do you think?
  22. This is how I do it (in three major steps): I - Start DCSW single player. - Go to options, controls, Su-25T - Select All (display all settings) - save your profile (as it still might be the default one), keep a backup outside the DCSW-Tree-Structure - click on that X52 column and "clear category". confirm. - create a HTML file and print it (c. 5 pages), bottom right "make html" - save the profile as reference (e.g. DATE-nojoystick.lua) - exit by clicking OK II - Create a simple mission with waypoints, some trucks and a landing. - Fly this mission using stick controls and keyboard presses (yes, you can handle Shkval slew, lock, weapons select all by keyboard) - WRITE down your keypresses and structure them by priority. - e.g. I setup the handling, navigation, landing first before I even dare to get agressive. If you cannot handle the plane, you wont make it to a dummy target and back. - attack easy targets: gun, bomb (single/salvo), rockets (single/salvo), guided rockets write down your keypresses III - Open the Saitek Profiler - Create POV-Directions, Keypresses, Modifiers, using the written notes. - check in game if it works, adjust axis tuning in controls of DCSW but keypresses in Saitek Profiler - do check the controls/all since there might be "red tabs" indicating errorous entries that need correction (most likely double keystrokes). All red tabs need to be corrected since they might effecting other inputs (e.g. the three-keys-of-instant-death) in a nutshell: delete x52 column in controls as you manage the keystrokes in saitek profiler. tune the axis in dcsw/controls/axis commands. Feedback welcome. If you feel like flying the SU-25 organized (focus Su-25 not "T") PM me for membership in 314 ShAP Mozdok. C. Half
  23. Cockpit Instruments have specs, at least an identifier (number) and a range (0 to 1 or -1 to 1) the meaning/correct scaling is documented for the A-10C. Triggers can be red by Mission Editor "if cockpit instrument is in range X:" so using an apropriate trigger and scripting setting the value might work.
