  1. Yes, this button must be held for the brakes to be on. If you let go of the button, the brakes are released. The real Spitfire parkingbrake, as @Sokol1_br describes, requires the pilot to hold the brake lever and activating the brakes and then lock the brake lever with a catch. The Mosquito has a similar parkbrake where you hold the brake and lock it with a pin. Using the W key on the keyboard only works if you have a button that is always on, when pressed. It is better to use the BTN4, in your screenshot. That will increase the brakes to full, and leave it there. But for more realism, you should activate the brakes and then lock it, just like in the Mosquito. It’s not a big problem, but I think it will be easy to fix if ED wants to.

  3. Thanks @Tanuki44! Using the ”Increase wheel brake” on a button works. At least I can map it to the joystick. But if the devs are listening, I’d like the parking brake to work more like the Mosquito. Hold the brake and press a button to activate the catch.
  4. As my problems got solved by reinstalling the OS (Win10 Home 64), I have been carefully adding apps to the PC, to see if they could cause the blackout problems. Yesterday i installed Open Hardware Monitor to check my temps. Suddenly I experienced two blackouts in DCS. I uninstalled OHWM and flew a couple of missions without issues. Coincidence?
  5. I just thought about the strange park brake behaviour of the DCS Spitfire and came here to see if it has been addressed. Is there really no way of setting the park brake with a key command? As @Sokol1_br points out here, the parkbrake is engaged by holding the brake lever and securing it with a catch. I’d like to be able to assign that catch to a switch on my stick, instead of having to use the mouse.

  7. I had the same problem in both DCS and IL-2. Turning off reprojection/motion smoothing stopped the crashes. I did some troubleshooting by switching between beta and stable for WMR for SteamVR and SteamVR itself. Also tried different GPU drivers, but nothing worked. I ended up reinstalling the OS and everything. Everything has worked since then… Fingers crossed!   8. I can print the parts for you and send them together with the required hardware. However, I don’t have time for sanding and finishing the parts. You’ll have to do that yourself, or just accept that they look 3D printed.
  9. Ah! See. You wrote swaying back and forth, earlier, so I thought you ment the pendulum motion. That is fixed with new and better links. I tightened the slop you mention by making new brass bushings. I was thinking of drilling out the hole in the L arm to accept a bearing…

  11. If you read the rest of the thread, you’ll see that I swapped the plastic linkages for metal ones and used screws and bushings instead of the original pins. That took care of the slack in the rudder motion.

  13. This is a tricky problem… Yes, moving your head outside the virtual canopy is unrealistic. Stopping the virtual head without stopping the physical head feels unrealistic. I did not like that feature in that other sim..! Thankfully they allowed the user to turn it off. I actually use a harness in my simulator seat. That adds to the immersion and restricts your movement some, making it harder to put your head through the canopy. Maybe if ED added virtual limits that are slightly generous, so you can move just outside the canopy, but not too far. That way nobody could cheat and we who try to stop by ourselves won’t feel restricted.

  15. Not sure what you mean by ”not working”. The brakes or the description..? That description is not how the parkbrake works. It’s the opposite. To set parkingbrake, hold the rudderpedal brakes down and pull and hold the park brake handle and then release the pedals. To release the parkbrake, just press the rudderpedal brakes down and the park brake handle pops in.
  16. The plunger doesn’t ride the plastic in my designs. There are M3 screws that interact with the plungers.
  17. I haven’t found suitable dampers for the brakes, so I did the next best thing and swapped the springs. I don’t have any parts, besides the ones I’m using myself. But the only parts you need to make are the aluminium brackets for the footrests. The rest you can get on ebay.

  19. Yeah, I just wanted to let you know so you won’t have to deal with a disgruntled buyer. I saved my F-22 Pro and F-16 TQS so I could convert them to digital sensors and USB one day. But that hasn’t happened, yet...
  20. According to RealSim, the TUSBA only works with the F-16 Cougar TQS, which is a newer product than the one you are offering.
