What I want most is already being worked on with their dynamic campaign. Besides that, the ability to perform search and rescue, picking up downed pilots and troops, and more tasks with helicopters, especially with the C-130 and Chinook coming. I know there's a mod for CSAR, but I'm talking immersive functionality. What's weird is that I've never been a rotary guy. I've been a fan since the Lock On days, and I've only ever been into fixed-wing until they announced the Chinook. I guess I'm finally getting tired of the sameness of the fixed-wing mission set.

Yeah, CA or something like it has a lot of potential for future use, but it's just not the focus of the community or developers at the moment. I think it'll become more apparent as DCS is fleshed out and additions like the dynamic campaign are added.

Yes, good list. On top of that, I'd love DTC functionality. This is my biggest one, though: Considering the C-130 is coming and some of the helicopters that are in DCS now (and those to come), adding search and rescue gameplay would bring a dimension to DCS that would make it pretty compelling, imo. I feel like the pieces are already in place for that to be amazing, at least in multiplayer. I know there are mods for it, but I'm talking solid functionality and gameplay. Oh, and the CH-53.

Select "F/A-18C Sim" in options and then select "Search..." in the dropdown menu. Type "Sensor Control Switch" and make sure it's all mapped correctly.

Thanks, Wags. A question I'll be curious about going forward is how this will be implemented in online multiplayer. For example, both me and a friend have the Hornet but only I have the carrier ops module. Will my friend still be able to do basic interactions, just not see the deck crew, etc, etc? Or are they gated from it somehow? Although, getting this module is a no-brainer if you have a Naval aircraft. You're probably not gonna be seeing too many without it.

I've also had this problem. I haven't been able to connect to a single server since the F-14 was introduced until today. I tried connecting to two servers without the F-14 and I got into both just fine. Then I tried connecting to a server with the Tomcat and it went back to timing out again, so I'll echo the one or two posts here saying it MIGHT have something to do with that thing. I'll keep trying different servers, though. Edit: Nevermind. I was able to connect to a server with only F-14Bs. I don't know what's going on here. Hopefully it's looked into.

I associate this music with the Hornet. That's the last time I've done any carrier operations in a sim, and I've been waiting to fly the Hornet again for 19 years. My hype could power a small city right now.
