  1. Known issue! There's a big thread somewhere. It's scheduled for the first hotfix, if I've understood everything correctly.
  2. Welcome to Russia. Enjoy your stay!
  3. The tests we did didn't have any room for a manufacturer bias, don't worry. Unless drawing fewer objects makes performance worse with AMD :p
  4. Since there are LoD and other issues with the MiG right now, I suggest you use another aircraft for your benchmarks. :) If it makes LITERALLY no difference, something very weird is going on.
  5. The Hip is a bit different, I think, since the cockpit is so huge, lots of geometry with the pilots and all the breakers. But no optimization is perfect, obviously.
  6. Sure, can do. PM me your skype.
  7. I agree with that assessment. For example, the landing mission has labels forced, and no buildings in the city (nalchik?) next to the airfield.
  8. At my squad's weekly get-together I tried landing at 12 fps due to parked MiGs at the airfield. It was interesting.
  9. I don't know for sure but my guess is feature.
  10. The patch renamed the Mods/aircrafts folder to aircraft. I think that's where campaign stuff is stores. If so, you should be able to dig out the old files (aircrafts should still be there) and copy them into the new folder.
  11. There have been other reports of this. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=130506 Probably a bug.
  12. I seriously doubt that's modelled in the sim. Besides, there are plenty of flat asphalt runways in the game, like at Batumi. I dare say the MiG bounces just as much there.

The ground crew elves have been known to do more mysterious things than that.
  14. Yeah, the F-15C can determine that certain radar contacts are friendly. As you say, dunno about the realism.
  15. I think the MiG-21 has working IFF interrogation. The modern, top secret IFF stuff in the A-10 etc obviously can't be modelled, but that's another matter.
  16. Yes, the blood is forced to the head.
  17. Glad to hear you've identified it! Can you say anything about a fix timeline? Do you guys have the authority to launch hotfixes, or will we (god forbid) have to wait for the next general DCS patch? I expect not, since we want to be able to see our wings looking out the window etc.
  18. Commenting on how people act is perfectly legitimate in a vast number of situations, one of which being when someone submits a let's-play to a forum. When some kid on youtube calls an RL fighter pilot who died (apparently getting disorientated and crashing) "a dumb son of a bitch", I reserve the right to think the kid is a bit of a clown. (And not because he swore.) And since we're discussion opinions, I thought the videos were soaked in a particularly disagreeable combination of superiority complex and factual ignorance.
  19. We're gonna need some Cheesy Poofs in here.
  20. Cool. I'm on 1.5 gigs of VRAM, the person I was comparing to has 2. I guess that could limit me enough compared to him that I'd see a drop, perhaps. Another thing; I posted this afternoon about the external LoDs: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=130314 Is this something you would take a look at? Or is it behaving as intended? Maybe we could get a moderator to move the thread to the correct subforum.
  21. I've been trying to wrap my head around this all night: I, in contrast to most of those I've asked on TS, get significantly lower fps when looking down into the cockpit. I get something like 35 fps looking straight at the gunsight, but 27 when I look straight at the stick. Anyone have any idea what could cause me to lose fps when looking down, when others with similar systems gain frames when looking there? I've tried matching their settings, and lots of others too, and every time I have the same tendency. Does my problem possibly tie into what you've discovered, Cobra?
