PointCTRL - Finger Mounted VR Controller
mr_mojo97 replied to MilesD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yeah, I know. maybe the cross graphic could just be changed for a 3D hand like the Touch one. Maybe Wags could get ED to support it once he tries it. I’m sure we’re all looking for ways to make DCS more immersive, I’m just throwing my ideas out there.- 3387 replies

Out of curiosity, would it be possible to somehow fix the mouse pointer to the finger on the gloved hand the we get in VR in DCS with the touch controllers? I used them for the first time last and it was actually quite cool and intuitive although far too cumbersome to use. Thought this might make it a bit more immersive.- 3387 replies

Only issue being that there doesn’t seem to be any consistency in ED/3rd party (with modules I have anyways) where left mouse click is always left switch up and right click always down or whatever so you’d still have to remember which way to click the FCU. But I agree it would certainly make it more user friendly to be able to have software for the user to change it to suit their own preference. Would it even be possible to do this ‘on-the-fly’? Or is this what you meant by the User settings through the FCU button press for 3 secs? Also can this be done while DCS is running? And finally, would it be possible to have some kind of audible or visual warning when the batteries are running low rather than going into the user settings?- 3387 replies

For me it was more about the stitching of some of the tiles that threw me off Normandy. Yes vr optimisation is very much needed and will be very welcome indeed, but I really hope they fix the stupid angular valleys/ canyons

Yes, Vaicom pro 2.5. Download it, it’s fantastic, it does what you say and oh, so much more but you can also add your own stuff to it. I use ‘Airborne’ for wheels up and ‘wheels down” for that. But loads more too -
Reduced price to £220 including postage

I did the same except I found an a4 size piece of black foam, cut and wrapped it around the HMD so it stops incoming light from the sides. And blue-tac’d it on. Hopefully I more professional one will come along. Fov for me was slightly better than the cv1 anyways.

Well it turns out my download for 2.5.5 was only 2.5gb - what it unpacked to I don’t know. Which is odd as I have all the maps and most modules. So are lots of other people getting such large downloads I wonder

I live in one of the oldest small villages in Scotland. In the historical town centre it’s not quite as easy just to start lifting the road up to throw some fibre optics cables down it. Unfortunately.

45 mins! Lol 42gb download will probably 2 days for me with a max download speed of 600kb/s! So I hope it’s not the much of a large download size for me

Got myself a new Oculus Rift S so my old trusty CV1 has to go UK only please. £250 including postage 2 controllers and two sensors non original box, sorry. Excellent condition, had it for a couple of years

Hi, Miles, can you clarify something in the first paragraph please. You say the 10ft cable comes with the set but below it you set differing postage prices to Europe with or without cable. And lastly as you are not supplying the 5v usb power supply, presumably we charge the FCUs direct from the pc or a powered usb hub? Cheers and hope the roll out goes smoothly- 3387 replies

I never understood why ED can’t give the map making SDK to a dedicated group of forum folk with a shown ability to make terrains with the expectation that it is voluntary and a free map. There must be loads of talented people here who could team up to make brilliant maps.

Only temporarily. Ground crew must have fixed it! Lol

So not had a flight in the Viggen in a long while and thought I'd fire her up in the Rift S. So there's no canopy in the cockpit, I can see it in the external view but it doesn't open and close, I can hear the sounds of the canopy and the switch moves accordingly. Any ideas, chaps? EDIT: Don't worry, I restarted DCS and all is well. That was weird.

I know it’s a simple thing you may have already tried. I quite often had bad stutters and read I quick solution to simply play in full screen mode and not windowed mode. Cut my stutters down by loads. Don’t know the how’s or why’s but seems to work for me in DCS. Don’t how to resolve your other games mind you

Whatever happened to DECOY anyways? I've not seen him around for a while and he used to be really active

Rejoice! The VR performance update comes next week!!
mr_mojo97 replied to Jarhead_SGT's topic in VR Bugs
Yeah, an average maybe on higher end pc’s. I just want the ghosting and stuttering to stop. If I can have those issues resolved and keep 40fps on my Rift S I’ll be one very happy chappy.
